“It’s ascribing to Jesus the sin of eating blood and causing others to do so”

Most moronic, dumbest statement I have ever read in my life. May God have mercy on your soul.

What’s not honest are good hardworking Catholic parents are subject to false advertising and deception.

Almost all protestant faiths are shrinking in the United States. Catholicism, far and away the largest Christian denomination, is not only growing in the United States, but is growing worldwide. Why is that? Inquiring minds want to know.

TWO undefined things that are not the same as each other.

This might help.

The baptismal "indelible mark on the soul."

A baptized Protestant's union with the Church.

The bible does not definitively state that Sacred Tradition ceased and that it alone now is authoritative and reading is the correct way to worship.

The Bible doesn't even say when *sacred tradition* began.

How then can it say that something that doesn't exist ceased?

Interesting that the word *Bible* in your post is not capitalized, and yet the term *Sacred Tradition* is.

It is endemic amongst Catholics to not capitalize the name Bible.

Why is that?

Scripture was always meant to be in addition to Tradition, especially the Tradition of the Eucharist, which has always been the proper way for the actual Christian Worship of Jesus, in His words, found in John 6.

Give us the Scripture references to show us that Scripture is to be subservient to tradition.

Worship without the Eucharist is dead. Reading a book is not worship.

Gee, so all those OT people didn't worship, eh?

Do you know what kinds of worship there are as taught in Scripture?

It's far more than *worshiping* a wheat wafer.

How about showing where the law against eating blood was rescinded instead of making baseless comments. Have anything to back up what you say or is it one of those “out of the air” traditions?

Show us where the prohibition against eating blood was rescinded.

Don't eat the blood, the life is in the blood

Genesis 9:4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life , that is, its blood.

Leviticus 3:17 It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations, in all your dwelling places, that you eat neither fat nor blood.”

Leviticus 7:26-27 Moreover, you shall eat no blood whatever, whether of fowl or of animal, in any of your dwelling places. Whoever eats any blood, that person shall be cut off from his people.”

Leviticus 17:10-14 “If any one of the house of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn among them eats any blood, I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, No person among you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger who sojourns among you eat blood.

“Any one also of the people of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn among them, who takes in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten shall pour out its blood and cover it with earth. For the life of every creature is its blood: its blood is its life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.

Leviticus 19:26 “You shall not eat any flesh with the blood in it. You shall not interpret omens or tell fortunes.

Deuteronomy 12:16 Only you shall not eat the blood ; you shall pour it out on the earth like water.

Deuteronomy 12:23 Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life , and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.

Deuteronomy 15:23 Only you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it out on the ground like water.

Acts 15:12-29 And all the assembly fell silent, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles. After they finished speaking, James replied, “Brothers, listen to me. Simeon has related how God first visited the Gentiles, to take from them a people for his name. And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written,

“‘After this I will return, and I will rebuild the tent of David that has fallen; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will restore it, that the remnant of mankind may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who are called by my name, says the Lord, who makes these things known from of old.’

Therefore my judgment is that we should not trouble those of the Gentiles who turn to God, but should write to them to abstain from the things polluted by idols, and from sexual immorality, and from what has been strangled, and from blood. For from ancient generations Moses has had in every city those who proclaim him, for he is read every Sabbath in the synagogues.”

Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among them and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They sent Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers, with the following letter:

“The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings. Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions, it has seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth. For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”

Wide is the road and broad is the way that leads to destruction and many are there who find it.

GMTA

It sure wasn’t rescinded at the Council at Jerusalem, where the Holy Spirit reiterated it.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Well, I quess that tells us the Catholic Church is NOT the true assembly of Christ.

The Great Apostasy? When I was a youth I was taught that one day the simplicity of the Gospel in Jesus Christ would be abandoned, that everyone would press to join an ecumenical super-system that would be a Trojan horse for old Rome, that we should expect as simple believers to undergo terrible persecution under such a system, that the Reformation was the wounding of this beast, and that it would recover in the days just before Jesus' return, and we needed to be prepared for becoming a beleaguered minority, at least until the day of His return, when God Himself would come riding to our rescue, and the millennium of Jesus' direct rule on earth would begin.

So whether that was all correct or not, I've been expecting there to be a massive falling away, and it would not surprise me to see it in this evil time in which we live. For my own part, I am happy to believe the word of God with or without the support of "well-credentialed teachers" or "majority religious status." It's utterly meaningless to me.

To put this in perspective, how many people were in the "right denomination" the day Noah's flood began to come upon the earth? Eight souls? Just sayin ...

Peace,

SR

The CCC is the blueprint for understanding the Holy Bible.
The exact same way any King James Bible has a study guide.

Big difference is we don't throw away the bible and live off the study guide...

Most do not even like the charismatic RCs, which is about the closest you will get to finding some who know the Lord.

And isn't that odd since their two top apologists, Staples and Hahn are tongues speaking Charismatic Catholics...

“And us damned Protestants are dragging her every which way!”

No. Catholics choosing to act like Protestants are harming other members of the Church. Protestants themselves have nothing to do with it.

True enough but it is only easy to be fooled when you’re already a fool. I’ve never been fooled about what is and is not Catholic. If someone simply learns the faith and lives it with God’s grace, he’ll be fine. It isn’t that hard. God does all the heavy lifting.
