The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not man’s standard.

If Scripture is not the sole source for what the apostles taught would you please show where the apostles taught the assumption of Mary. Paul did say that if anyone taught a different gospel than they did we were to consider them accursed.
man oh man....the protestants added that doxology to all those Bibles....no wonder they all say what you want them to say....edit here, add there, pretty soon you have a book that meets all your needs.

So are you saying they added it after you read it? Is that what you are saying? After all, you did say you didn't find it "even in the KJV". I would hate to think ..............nah. Double speak perhaps?
I was reading about The Lord’s Prayer recently. One of the statements that really surprised me was that one of the most popular versions for Catholics was one that ended with The Doxolgy. I had never even heard that said. So, yes, they do say that and for it to be one of the top versions, it has to be said by a lot of Catholics. You may not say it but others do.

Your premise is wrong. Look at your mistake: “If Scripture is not the sole source for what the apostles taught...” First, what “If”? Logically it is impossible that all that the Apostles taught is in the NT. It’s simply not possible. Second, just because something was handed down (tradition) doesn’t mean an easy to see source dating all the way back to the Apostles now exists - after all that would be a written source of some kind would it not? So, what we do have, are sources that show the idea of the Assumption was passed down from the generation to generation and could only have been done so if it was believed widely in the Church.

Amazing. So, one day after a couple of Protestant anti-Catholics tell me it’s a-okay for Protestants to not agree on “disputable” items (using sola scriptura) you’re now claiming the Assumption represents a “different gospel” and people who believe it are accursed? But whenever else Protestant anti-Catholics discuss the Assumption they usually go out of their way to point out that Catholics must believe in it to be in union with the Church (or else their salvation is threatened?). Once again we see Protestant anti-Catholics just make it up as they go along. As long as they’re on the opposite side of the Catholic Church apparently they’re happy. The Protestant anti-Catholic hypocrisy just never ends.

Do you have a link to that? Since Catholics don’t say the final doxology with the Lord’s Prayer it seems unlikely it would be “one of the most popular versions for Catholics”.

No, it’s not said by a “lot of Catholics”. Having traveled extensively, and having been with Catholics from around the world, speaking numerous languages, I doubt that it could be. I have never once seen it appear that way in a Catholic prayer book or heard it said that way by a Catholic.

There is no place in the English bible where the word is used, so why do you care what it used to mean in Latin? It doesn’t mean that in English. It means “highly respected”. That is what we hold people to. The meaning of a word for us if that is the word they are using.
Jesus also said He was bread.
