In a few days Georgia Walker, at age 67, intends to become a priest, at which point she will be excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church.
That doesnt faze her.
I dont accept the legitimacy of that excommunication, said Walker, who will be the first woman in Kansas City to defy the church and be ordained a priest.
The church in turn will not accept the legitimacy of her ordination because, under canon law, only men can be priests.
Thats their problem, Walker said of the church.
That steadfastness is a trait of the Association of Roman Catholic Women Priests, a growing movement of people who see the church as too authoritarian and unwilling to be inclusive. But instead of leaving the church, they hope to change it from within.
At other stages of her life, Walker has been a sociology professor at the University of Missouri, a financial officer and a hospital manager. In midlife she converted to Catholicism and became a Sister of St. Joseph, although she did not take final vows. She is working on a graduate degree in theology.
Walker also is a peace activist who has been convicted of trespassing at the Bannister Federal Complex in south Kansas City and at Whiteman Air Force Base near Knob Noster, Mo.
She now works with men and women coming out of prison to help them reintegrate with society.
As a priest, Walker wants to establish a regular schedule to visit prisons in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph to bring the sacrament to inmates. She also wants to build a small community of worshipers while remaining a member of St. James Parish in Kansas City.
The church says no.

That's the Big Lie.
It's precisely because they have abandoned any efforts to change it from within that they are now getting themselves excommunicated. Why not just start their own church based on their own authority? Isn't that what they are claiming anyway - their own authority. Answer: because they don't want to merely express their own faith. What they want is to hurt the church and to try to bring it down.
I'd respect them if they started their own church. I might disagree with them, but I'd respect them. But this is just another feminist lie, poison passing for truth, raping everything it touches with levels and levels of scheming calculations and belligerent insults to people's faiths. And, of course, ultimately relying on the intervention of the socialist state to send armed men in to enforce whatever these feminist totalitarians want. Oh perhaps not today - but someday, because fund in people's faces is ALWAYS part of the collectivist plan.
Just as long as she doesn’t try to become the first female Bond ;’)

Might as well right “FRANCIS”?
You want to be a more “open” church anyways eh?
“Bishop Bridget Mary Meehan”, fake
I’m always amazed at people who want to break the rules of the catholic church. because this would be the logic.
the catholic church says that the pope makes the rules and is infallible, getting his direction from Jesus Christ.
you want to be (or remain) catholic knowing that.
so when you break the rules you are saying, I want to worship Jesus Christ not by the rules that He set down, but by the ones I choose.
Doesn’t matter if she doesn’t accept excommunication.
And it’s not “their problem”.
No Catholic Church can communicate with her or any other church she co-opts, nor can any church participate in any activity of her or her new found religion and vice versa.
It won’t happen.
What will happen is that she will be excommunicated.
It’s a safe bet that this individual will not tempt priests to break their vows of celibacy.
fund = guns
(*&%$# autocorrect)
Strictly facetious, not meaning to insult, denigrate or blaspheme ANYONE BUT
If, tomorrow AM, I say that I am GOD because I say I am God, does that mean I can go to all churches and pick up the collection baskets in person?
I was away for awhile (30 some years) and when I ‘came back’ it turns out ‘we’ had gone away from the Latin Mass, ‘Civilians’ were administering Holy Communion, (I ‘waited’ for the Priest and someone had the gall to mention to me that there were ‘rumors’ about the Priest and who knew where his hands/fingers may have been), there was a ‘group hug’ long about the Offertory and I ‘declared’ it wasn’t the RCC I knew and I now ‘tend to myself’.
Maybe I wasn’t ‘ready’ or really wanted to come back but it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting.
The behavior of a handful of Priests ‘upset’ me and it was funny how people who had absolutely NO IDEA of how back when I was a kid how Parents ‘willfully’ turned us over to the Priests and Nuns, anyone going home and complaining about ‘unGodly’ behavior, would not have been believed.
I NEVER had a ‘problem’ and it was before the trouble really began, but I can understand that with the ‘pressure’ coming from Both ends, how a kid could become very confused, especially an insecure and/or vulnerable one.
It’s all about you, lady, it’s all about you.
I hope the extreme sag is due to her not wearing a bra. If she is wearing one, holy cow (no pun intended)!
Sorry, Jesus, by his own actions, shows us that he has other intentions. When push comes to shove God wins. I guess they are not teaching that at whatever university she is studying graduate theology.
Hey UGLY LESBIAN LEFTIST....there are NO WOMEN PRIESTS in the CATHOLIC CHURCH!!! Go be a PISKY!
Is she going to ordain herself?
You can’t even be a DEACON!!!
