I was beginning to think that no one else had noticed that SETH was made in Adam's image; in HIS likeness: Genesis 5:3
You’ve got a great backhand there!
(Warn her about that crotchety ol’ Elsie; too!)
Luke 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Hebrews 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
Mark 11:2 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
Mark 14:72 Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: "Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times." And he broke down and wept.
1 Corinthians 4:17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
2 Timothy 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
Tell me about it!!
Cant you tell the difference between JESUS' blood and WINE?
Show me the differentiation made in Acts 15.
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, ' it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less.'
'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.' 'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master - that's all.' |
HMMMmmm...
HMMMmmm...
Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.
“It should be for their benefit. For here men do not bring a sacrifice to God through a priest, but the High Priest offers Himself as a sacrifice to God for the sake of men.”
^^But yet those of your religion claim that THEY offer the sacrifice of Jesus to the Father...Which of course is ridiculous...^^
False. In the Mass, JESUS offers himself to the Father. Jesus is the priest and victim.
“That Christ gives His blood to those redeemed by Him to drink is the strongest expression of the fact that He sacrifices Himself for men entirely, unreservedly, and completely. (Sasse 1985, 89-90)”
^^Nothing more than the musing of human philosophers...^^
Wow. You figured out that the writer is a HUMAN. That’s a real knock-down argument.
“To refuse to drink the blood of Jesus is to CLING TO THE OLD COVENANT AND THE OLD SACRIFICES, refusing to accept the life Jesus has given to us.”
^^Jesus told Paul to tell us to continue to avoid drinking blood...^^
The blood Paul was referring to was animal blood. Since an animal sacrifice is a sacrifice under the OLD TESTAMENT, the blood represents the life of the animal, which belongs to God. The Eucharist is the sacrifice of Jesus of himself, in which he gives his life to us and for us. Thus, his blood is poured out FOR US (as Jesus himself said at the Last Supper). Thus, unlike the blood of a sacrificed animal, the blood of Jesus BELONGS TO US. He gave it to us precisely to tell us that he has given his LIFE for us.
The OLD covenant has been replaced by the NEW covenant.
JESUS is not an ANIMAL.
Thou shalt not eat Cheez-Whiz on your idols. It has to be in there somewhere.
Out of the abundance of the heart...
So?
When did I delete those words of Jesus—from anywhere?
For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. That's just a series of items strung together by a simple conjunction. There is nothing grammatically, semantically, or contextually obligating an inference that only animal blood was prohibited.
(Acts 15:28-29)
Welcome to Catholic Tradition 101
But; as we are told over and over: I use it wrongly...
But...
...at least I use it. ;^)
Now that I have your attention; will you PLEASE tell me what Catholicism provides to me (That the Bible doesn't) that I MUST have to enter Heaven some day?
Such animated conversation taking place here.
Who broke the 'rule' about discussing politics or; GASP!; religion in polite company?
