And what about all the Catholics that were killed by Protestants — even in one country — England?

The surest way to know if you are speaking with an absolute moron is if they make that very statement. Mohammed very clearly said the same exact thing about those who ever thought that he was wrong, or a liar.

Now it's clearer why your pope cozies with the Mohammedians. Similar minds think alike.

Even JW’s miles by nazi camps can be called martyrs

Still running this wording through an all-language Babel-type translator operating on a reconditioned Wang Intel 386 computer. Hasn't come up with anything yet.

Now about the word "killed" standing by itself in your very next post to me...?

Catholics would have eaten the physical scroll right.

Why do you keep accusing Jesus of teaching people to sin by drinking blood, and then change the subject when you are called on it?

This council declares that if anyone disagrees with it, they are damned.

For about the six hundredth time, "anathema" is a formal excommunication, not some sort of infallible sentence of damnation. And like any church discipline, it only applies to Catholics.

Oh, and have I mentioned (again for the six hundredth time) that the penalty of "anathema" itself was abrogated by the 1983 code of canon law?

But don't let facts get in the way of your Two Minutes Hate for today.

>>is certainly capable of anything<<

He cannot go against His own word.

Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind.

>>He says I will not drink again, but nowhere does Scripture say that He drank from the cup once He blessed it<<

Whatever makes you feel better Jvette. That still leaves Him causing others to sin.

I started studying not to become Catholic, but to disprove it

Isn't that weird...How many times have we heard this???

I started studying not to become a Catholic, but to disprove it, and every negative thing I had heard about the Catholic religion I found to be true...

This is a wild story...I believe this entire story was fabricated...

To have the Bible as the only and sole authority of Christianity is to invite chaos into His Church. There are at least 5 Protestant denominations created every year based on a different interpretation of the Bible. Theoretically, anyone who owns a Bible can create their own denomination based on their own interpretation of Scripture. Taken to its logical conclusion, chaos is what happens when the doctrine of "Sola Scriptura" is applied. And Christ stated "A tree is recognized by its fruit" (Matthew 12:33) and the doctrine of Sola Scriptura produces "bad fruit" (disunity, confusion and separation).

That is very flawed logic...You are giving power and legitimacy to the Mormon religion which teaches as the Catholic religion does...They have the same (but different) 'one truth' as your religion does...

And if we can't trust the scriptures to define which one is true, it's their word against yours...

To have the Bible as the only and sole authority of Christianity is to invite chaos into His Church.

But as any bible believer knows, the obvious motive for your religion to make such an outrageous statement against the inspired, preserved word of God is to take away the scripture's authority which condemns your religion at every turn of a page...You're not fooling anyone...

Is the Bible the sole "teaching from God?" No. The Bible Itself states that there are "oral" teachings and traditions that are to be carried on to the present-day (2 Thessalonians 2:15; 1 Corinthians 11:2; 2 Timothy 2:2; Romans 10:17; 1 Peter 1:24-25).

You are wrong...The bible says there WERE oral teachings which were ultimately written in the scriptures so that they would be preserved forever...

Ah, of course. When unable to refute the plain truth, offer instead condescending snark.

It’s ok. I expected as much. It’s not about how I feel but what Scripture actually says.

God has not contradicted Himself. In Deuteronomy He is speaking of animal sacrifice for the sins of the people. He says clearly that it is the blood that gives life so they are not to eat of the blood of animals.

Jesus is not some animal. He is God. His blood gives the life that is eternal. He says exactly that in John.

There is a huge difference between partaking of the lifeblood of animals and that of the life giving blood of God.

John tells us as much at the end of his Gospel: "But there are also many other things which Jesus did; were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written" (John 21:25).

Also in John, 20:30-31: 30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

So if it has to do with salvation, it is in John. How many teachings must a Catholic believe for eternal life that can not be found in the Gospel of John?

Leviticus 3:17 This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.

They don’t appear in the article. More than likely, it is the result of a font that is not enabled on your computer.

Yes, the same here, I was just wondering why they appear in the heading as sometimes that is the only thing I read and although there may be a good reason for it, it boggles my mind which is not hard to do.

Sola scriptura, which clearly is not supported by Scripture itself, since it would mean that we could only use the Old Testament, has resulted in at least a dozen different translations of the "Bible" -- many vastly different than the others...

Would love to see a list of these vastly different translations. Biblehub is a mouse click away and easily shows this writer's charge false. Very minute variations in translation of the New Testament. I'll admit a few head scratchers from the Old, but there are still clusters of agreement. They are not ALL different.

If the translations she refers to cannot be found there, I doubt they are widely read (nor accepted by sound scholars).
