It’s time to kneel down and pray for our nation

The Supreme Court came down in favor of same-sex marriage today. The Slip opinions are HERE.
Held: The Fourteenth Amendment requires a State to license a marriage between two people of the same sex and to recognize a marriage between two people of the same sex when their marriage was lawfully licensed and performed out-of-State. Pp. 3–28.

ALITO, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which SCALIA and THOMAS, JJ., joined.
There is no provision for any state which has its own laws limiting marriage to two sexes. Thus, this is now the “law of the land” in all 50 states.
Who wins? Not society. Perhaps divorce lawyers.
It may be that this was as inevitable as the night which follows the day. I had hoped not, but with only a little hope.
I can't help but point out that Anthony Kennedy is a Catholic. Clearly, his religion means absolutely nothing to him when a decision is to be made.
So many Catholics show little loyalty to God. This is probably true because their faith is a lot of "going through the motions", and is muddled with a lot of nonsense about Mary and the saints.
GOD IS SOVEREIGN.
Today Frank signed a treaty with the "Nation of Palestine" - a direct slap in the face to God.
Wake up! Catholicism is dead and it's time to turn to God Alone.
Is there anything in the NT about praying for your nation?
I didn’t see Jesus as talking much about politics. And nations are very much political entities. Rather, he talked about protecting us even in the midst off mayhem. The nation is lost. Look at the culture. We are the bad guys.
Now, I DO think we should pray for individuals. And that is one thing that Christianity and the constituion (by design) have in common: One is about an INDIVIDUAL’s relationship with their creator and their fellow man and the other is about the INDIVIDUAL’s rights within our government and its ability to usurp those rights.

Too late for prayer. Judgement has been rendered. Read Lev 18:22 to the end of the chapter. Notice God was talking to the Jews,.... His people. We will NOT be held guiltless!
Ask, Seek and Knock. (Again and again!)

Something I think some here are forgetting: This did NOT come as a surprise to God. He didn’t say “Oh, dear...I didn’t see this coming!”.
Something was pointed out to me this morning: In the end times, NOWHERE in the Bible does it mention any country that even closely resembles the US. I really and truly believe that America IS going to fall and will NOT be a player in the end times.
This may indeed be a waypoint to the end and the return of the Lord Jesus. If so, I say “Come, Lord Jesus!”
Think about it...either we die (naturally or by persecution) and go to Heaven, or we are raptured and go to Heaven. In either case, where are we? Heaven! With Jesus! Where is the losing side in this scenario? There isn’t one!
Sure...it’s gonna suck while we’re here, but remember that this isn’t all there is. The best we can do as believers is pray, love God, love people, and life the life God has called us to live.
Never stop praying. That’s what brings God to the situation.

The Bible doesn’t mention a lot of countries, nowhere does the Bible attempt to list every country that exists at the end times.
It is too late. The only prayer I will make is “Come quickly, Lord Jesus”.

It’s all we have now.
Not that God is going to change His mind as to the end of America, but prayer surely will help us accept it.

Still, I don’t think we’re going to be a major player. That’s just my opinion.
One other thing....and I know it sounds pithy...but I’ve read the end of the Book. He wins. And, if we’re with Him, we win too.

That being said, a Christian can pray for anything they want as long as it is within God’s will. I prayed for the Berlin wall to come down. :-)
