The way that Ted Shoebat writes, I believe he would declare that Marcionism was a form of Protestantism. I tend to keep that in context when reading him.

History throughout. I'll have to go back and read the whole thing.

Of Note, however:

Why do Muslims hate Rome so much? Because Islam, as I have said many times, is a form of protestantism and was founded as a protest against the Church. Just as Mormonism is against the Catholic Church (it calls it the Harlot of Babylon) so is Islam. I would go so far as to say that Islam is a pre-Reformation protestant sect. Muslims tried to invade Rome seven times, and they began their attempts hundreds of years before Luther supported the Islamic Ottoman conquest of Rome.

The fact that we now have the worst Pope in at least 300 years must be of some significance. I mean, over and above the mere fact that he’s the worst Pope in at least 300 years.

As if his promotion of the Global Warming Hoax weren’t enough proof that he’s a lying huckster, the recent revelation that the Apostolic Exhortation was all written BEFORE the Synod started seals the deal. All that insincere blather about “listening to the Holy Spirit”—when he KNEW the entire time that the Exhortation was all written! He USED the bishops who were present as PUPPETS and PROPS. What THEY said was going to go into the waste basket, and he KNEW IT.

In fact, it reminds me of a Joseph Califano story about Jimmy Carter. When a bunch of rubes would come to the Oval Office, Jimmy would get out his legal pad, filling pages with notes as the rubes would tell the President of their concerns. He would ask them for their ideas, and write it all down. Page after page. The moment they exited, the yellow pages were ripped off the pad and stuffed in the waste basket.

That’s our stupid, vain, lying Pope.

So, an article that purported to be an attack on islam was actually an attack on Protestantism. Good to know.

Ever notice that all these articles that point out how Catholic the ancient church was never mention that they ancient church accepted the historicity of Genesis 1-11?

I didn't think so.

That is an ancient doctrine the liturgical churches threw into the garbage can in the nineteenth century. Turns out it is the a-historical heretics that maintain the ancient position on this issue.

I’m glad to hear you say that, Mark.

Shoebat equating Protestantism with islam the a similar fallacy to the media saying that Ben Carson is an evangelical. It shows how little they know. 7th day Adventists are not evangelicals. Evanglicalism is about proclaiming historic Christianity. I like Ben Carson. I’d choose him over Jeb Bush every day and twice on Sundays (Saturdays?). But their sect was built on 18th century eschatological fever, on dates predicted for the end of the earth, AND on new writings they held at the same level as the bible.

I saw this as a chaplain years ago when the military attempted to group Mormonism with Protestantism. We Chaplains (Protestant & Mormon alike) scratched out heads and wondered if they really believed these things in the 5-sided puzzle palace. Might as well group Judaism and Islam. They simply aren’t the same no matter how much some uneducated bureaucrat wants them to be.

They desperately wanted to group Catholicism and Orthodoxy, but they knew it wouldn’t fly, so they backed off.

So, to equate Islam with Protestantism is just ignorance of the author on display.

They haven’t been “proven to be fake”. Catholics (and anyone else) is free to believe them or not believe them.

They believe the prophecies of the Catholic saint, St. Malachy, but don’t believe Jesus Christ is God. Seems kinda dumb.

This time around IF this IS indeed the last Pope, could it
just be possible that the KING OF KINGS & LORD OF LORDS
is gonna split that eastern sky wide open with ten thousands
of his angels to extract VENGEANCE on the angels of Hell &
their minions who are attacking His people ISRAEL? His
FURY is going to come up in His face! Ezekiel 38 & 39
MARANATHA!!! (He takes no joy in the death of the wicked
ones, as I take no joy in their deaths; but the time is
almost ripe.)

They [the prophecies of St Malachy] haven't been "proven to be fake".

They have indeed been shown to most likely be a forgery. See here, paying special attention to points 5-9. The whole article is beneficial really.

Catholics (and anyone else) is free to believe them or not believe them.

I suppose in a certain sense you are correct (as far as Catholics are concerned at least) since the Church hasn't specifically condemned them, by name, but reason should inform and prevail here. I submit the historical evidence Akin lays out in the site I provided makes it reasonable to say they have been "proven false". At least as much as any historical (or prophetic) claim can be falsified.

Anyone can believe anything they want. Especially when talking about vague prophecies such as the ones attributed to St Malachy. But it really profits no one (no pun intended) to give them any merit.

Part of you is going to take a little joy. I agree, by the way. We were talking about Ezekiel 38 this weekend. Ever seen two countries with such differences who’s interests are so dramatically aligned of late than Iran and Russia?
