Thank you O Christ.

Eight days after your birth, you are offered to the Father, and your blood is shed.

He was a son of Abraham. The Old Covenant was still in effect.

He had not yet given himself as a sacrifice for all of our sins.

That’s what I thought. All of it simply says that he was a Jewish child, born into a Jewish family which honored the Covenant requirement.

There goes the church of Rome again, muddying the waters for everyday people who have just as much access to the Throne of God as the Pope thinks he does.

The Lord explained why he underwent circumcision. It's right there IN THE BIBLE that- guess what- any person can pick up at any bookstore.

The Pope and the church of Rome are stumbling blocks.

Circumcision? That’s just a catholic holiday, right? It’s not in the bible as far as I can see.

His blood was shed at His circumcision.

He did indeed fulfill the Old Covenant. At the same time He prefigured or foreshadowed the New Covenant, in His blood.

At eight days old, He was about His Father’s business.

“It means he is a Jew. Gal. 4:4.”

That’s what I was going to say, but it’s so cool you have a cite.

That’s just a catholic holiday, right?

Yep. Only the Catholics have Luke 2:21 in their Bibles.

I don’t think that the Roman Church is any more a ‘stumbling block’ than any other sect of Christianity is.

Jesus came, lived his life, and gave us a lot of Good News, and Good Instruction.

How an individual takes it is up to the individual. All in all, Jesus seems to have told us to be Independent Thinkers with regard to spiritual life, and to find God within ourselves.
