Excellent post........Really get to the meat of the whole thing. Our founding fathers were so right about religion and government.

"The mosque needs to be demolished; may as well get it over with."

Well, it has been there for a long time. It is getting to be an eyesore. And I imagine there is a "falling" hazard.

The mosque needs to be demolished; may as well get it over with.

Agreed, but it would be much more fitting if Saddam Insane did it with a poorly guided Scud...

Indeed:

Instant cultist fedophile-to-English translation service:

"We moral-liberal fedophiliac jihdists equate conservative values with ideology , and thereby trivialize the latter while denigrating the former."

Correct. In fact, Jerusalem is not even mentioned in the koran anywhere!

Actually, I was under the impression that it was. The Koran also mentions the promised land as a set aside for the Jews. (I suppose the interpretation is from a more sensible Muslim though)

The militant Israelis and the crazy fundamentalists are not any less lunatic than the mullah, and the fanatic Moslems. Both are crazy about this GOD thing! They seem to be talking to God a lot on his “unpublished” number? They read their books with a different color glass than the rest of us. They interpret things and extrapolate things to meet their POLITICAL objectives. God is probably laughing his--- off looking down on these nut cases who are obsessed with the END, and looking forward to lit up the whole world on fire.

There is no way that you can talk sense to these Moslem fanatics, the Christian fanatics, and the Jewish fanatics. The communists had a good idea, deemphasizing religions. We don't need to go that far, but we need to impress upon the religious leaders to calm down this hysteria. Please! Religion, the way I know it, was to do good unto others, to forgive, to love. The Moslems and Jews don’t teach much of that in their house of worship, but the Christian do nothing but teaches people to be humble, and forgiving? How did these militant fundamentalists got this way, is very strange.

May I don’t want the end to come so soon, because I am afraid of this beast with seven heads and hundred eyes, and hundred tongs and yad yada yada….

"The continuous disasters of man's history are mainly due to his excessive capacity and urge to become identified with a tribe, nation, church or cause, and to espouse its credo uncritically and enthusiastically, even if its tenets are contrary to reason, devoid of self-interest and detrimental to the claims of self-preservation. We are thus driven to the unfashionable conclusion that the trouble with our species is not an excess of aggression, but an excess capacity for fanatical devotion."

I hate to say it, bud, but if this statement WERE true, then the Roman Empire would still exist today. Furthermore, if this statement WERE true (rather than just being an opinion), agencies like the UN would be effective in stopping war.

For, if it WERE true that the only thing preventing us from having GLOBAL PEACE was national identity, then we would've LONG ago been consolidated into one of the MANY large empires which have risen throughout the centuries (Persia, Greece, Rome, the United Kingdom, etc). Even with the advent of such super-entities as mentioned, internal fractionalism and strife STILL occurred, regardless of the fact that there was a Distinct Unifying Authority over all of the citizens in the jurisdiction thereof.

Therefore, I think whomever you quoted from is wrong.

I'm still scratching my head at this. If you're saying that Evolution is also a religion, I'd tend to agree with you. If not, then I'll just keep scratching my head and wondering what the heck to make of this...
