This is an awesome article on the necessity of choice. Thanks ftD.
It highlights the coordinated effort that God expects in salvation. God provides the salvation; we must choose.
Hallelujah, O Lord, Thine is the Glory!!

In no uncertain terms the Bible declares that God is a sovereign God who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will and who has done whatsoever He hath pleased (Eph. 1:11; Psalm 115:3)....
The Scripture, however, teaches that even though God is willing and desirous that men should turn from sin and go in His direction, He often allows men to have their own way and go their own way according to the stubbornness of their own sin-hardened hearts. God was willing, but they were not. God would, but they would not.
If you Arminians say so....
Hey, BTW, I thought that God "tries" to draw all men to himself with this "Prevenient Grace" thingie you Arminians imagined and now you tell me that He often allows men to go their own way.

You just have to wonder, what's so hard to understand that man can not override God? I just can't understand how this eludes people.

Funny how much the author of this piece relies on Jeremiah without realizing that Jeremiah was commanded to preach even when God told him that there would be no repentance, and that there would be no forgiveness for Judah.
In fact, God specifically commands Jeremiah not to pray for Judah, telling him that He will refuse to listen.
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. - Jeremiah 7:16
Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble. - Jeremiah 11:14
In other words, the author of this article doesnt have a clue as to the message of the book, so it isnt any wonder that he botches it so completely.

Yes Woody (aka-thread killer), God 'draws' but man can resist and reject. It is called free will
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,(Rom.1:28) note the word 'retain' they had the knowledge of God but rejected it (Jn.3:19)

Question #2: Since you Arminians mantain that God is willing that men should turn from sin and go in His direction and we know that Jesus has said about prayer that is according to His will "that will I do" and you pray that God save all men will all men be saved and you become a Universalist heretic or did Jesus lie?
Sincerely,

P.S. This author is clueless....

Why, that's almost as foolish as preaching the gospel to a rotting corpse or a pile of sun bleached bones.

If either of you ever wonder why there are some with which I absolutely refuse to converse, see above. Nothing else needs to be said.

Extreme Calvinists seem to have difficulty in understanding how a sovereign God can desire something that will never come to pass. They believe that whatever God wills and desires must come to pass. Now can you imagine that ? Guess it depends on who is god here huh?
Hey Woody they do not even believe the gospel

Please lower yourself long enough to converse with me. Are Catholics saved? LOL, Interesting choice of words. Catholics can be saved the same way any other person anywhere on earth can be saved, by saving faith in Jesus Christ, not by baptism, good works and church membership.
