Interesting conclusion, but I agree, as always there seems to be a massive hole in the Democratic Party argument (100% ideological, 0% practical) that they will deliberately ignore to attack their conservative opponents as against the populist trends of politics since the disastrous 2006 elections.

Thank you for the compliment, and to my surprise I got a 99, grammatical errors being the only mistake. The surprise was that my teacher is a hardcore liberal who puts Howard Zinn’s “A People’s History of the United States” in our curriculum and she tried to write rhetorical questions about how Italy and Portugal didn’t represent democracy (even though that was not the subject), but I got a chance to make the history department at my school look like fools so I guess it worked. :)

The left will claim that we were imperialists who simply were raping Vietnam of its resources, the truth is that the enemies we fought were far worse even then the French Colonial Army before us. I know this because a member of my family (South Vietnamese police commander) was jailed for thirteen years to be ‘re-educated’ by the PAVN.
SoldierDad:
My apologies for the incorrect body count and the mistake on LBJ’s history, it was of the Coalition force as a whole.
norton:
Thank you for the historical information, I am learning from this website every day. :)
Blue State Insurgent:
Portugal is a long forgotten military power and left out of the textbooks (in a positive manner) because Antonio Salazar was a Fascist. Many will state how we are overextending our 500,000 active duty military force in two nations; Portugal had 170,000 troops spread over three African jungle nations (Mozambique, Guinea, and Angola) with a population one-three hundreth of our own and fought for thirteen years.
Another unknown fact is that Cuba under Castro fought two counter-insurgency wars with ally Communist nations and lost more than America did in Iraq in both. They fought one in Somalia with Mengistu Haile Mariam’s Ethiopian Army and one in Angola against UNITA from 1975 to 1991.
And thank you all for the compliments, hopefully this will reach more left leaning people so we can debate them. :)
