David Duke is from Mississippi, what would you expect? -page

Could you please clarify this (before I get cranky)?-dawg

    That's easy!

From the Socialist Party WebSite:(google searched Miss. Hanging)

    Mississippi Hanging

    Poem by Sam Friedman

We are a land of progress,
    almost everyone agrees,
so there are no longer lynchings
    from Mississippi’s trees.

    So Roy Veal dangled, hanging,
    from a tree-entangled rope,

but it couldn’t be a lynching
just one man who couldn't cope.

No, it couldn't be a lynching,
    the Wilkinson County Sheriff said—
    black Sheriff Jackson said—
    so it’s suicide instead,

    the doc found no abrasion
    no contusions, no duress,
    so suicide’s the verdict,
    there’s no torture, just distress,

he was a man of weakness,
poor Roy Veal just couldn't cope,
so he hanged himself from his tree-limb
    with self-inflicted rope.

    This is the verdict.
    This is the law:
    a tragic self-destruction,
    just this, and nothing more.

Or is it rich folks' justice?
Is this just rich folks' law?
    The greed of White landowners
    who grasp for ever more?

They coveted his trees for money,
claimed to own his family’s land,
    with a cash-and-power lawsuit
    to back up their demands.

And since it's rich folks' justice,
    so for damages they sued,
    for 18 thousand dollars,
with Veal’s land and forest too.
    So white folks’ just-us fingers
may not have held his rope,
    but merely rich white justice
that lynched family, land and hope.

I pefer Breyers vanilla... This is a taste thread, isn't it?

I didn't see drum soloists touted, and I am a former percussionist. In-a-gadda-davida is my fave... but for Geetars, Clapton and Hendrix are wearing my crowns, with a tiara for a whole host of others! Pink floyd presents an experience, not just a concert!

Your answer either way will say a lot to those of us not addled by marijuana in our systems.

I am addled? Look at your post, and get back to me!

...And probably the kind of druggie who would object if the Chinese navy boarded your boat

Hopefully, as an American citizen, I can find a US Navy vessel to help me, unless they are all overseas. I only sail the coast of North Carolina. I cruise a lot, though, and expect them to take care of me there, as well! That is their job, unless I am wrong.

We're part of NATO and it's a NATO mission to secure the sea lanes in the Med. That's why the Boone was there, not some "globalist expansion of our borders" strawman you offer up.

Thanks for the response. Which foundational document (DecofInd, Const., Articles of Cofederacy?) calls for us to patrol overseas sea lanes for the benefit of foreign entities. I understand treaties. I understand alliances. I understand the borders of the United States, though our Presient doesn't seem to care about defending them.

What am I missing? I know I am probaly wrong, but I just thought we had things to take care of at home! There is no benefit for us to sit around poppoing drup smugglers in the Med, when Iran, N.Koea, etal are ready to see us dead!

It would be nice to have Our Navy used for us!

Excuse me .. you'd rather the drug smugglers were successful ..?? Not me!

Excuse me, but I didn't think our borders had been expanded so far... or are you one of the Globalists among us?

Since when are we supposed to be baby-sitting for other countries? I can think of a few better places if you wanted to affect American citizens drug use. I can also think of a lot better things for a fighting force to be doing with fighting going on in the world!

The friends say "I don't think the government message is accurate - marijuana isn't dangerous - it's fun - want to try it - I've got some". A few puffs later Jane and Johnny are feeling alright and no "danger" is apparent and over time they aren't sure they trust the government message.

    Applied along the same vein:

The Gum't said "We are only thinking of your safety. We'd never make it a primary offense". Driving down the road, we see a line of cars pulled over ahead, and wait with the rest of the sheeple. They aren't really feeling any safer, and over time they aren't sure they trust the government."

Having briefly explored your previous posts, I've found your problem: You've smoked too much dope...with and without your children.

Wow, I'm impressed. You wasted a portion of your life on me. I hope you enjoyed your visit!..

I doubt if I will waste any more of mine! My problem is with people who think everythng is about race or color. You're the bigot in the picture, dude! I am a businessman, and I woul not use illegal labor to cheapen my product, nor unfairly compete. Americans suffer for those illegals to be here. They are doing jobs that Americans can do.

Maybe I should rephrase so I can offend you (re: your tagline).

I said you should move south if you wish to live next to LEGAL MEXICANS. Illegal Mexicans are not welcomed in the United States Constitution. Illegal anybody is not welcomed in it, either! They are invaders. They should be shot on sight! they are stealing from tax-paying Americans, and their heritage. Yep, I'll refresh you, good!

That being said, I wouldn't shed a tear if these guys were to unload a can of whoop-ass on Hamilton.

I doubt many here on FR would shed any tears about you! If you want to live next door to legal Mexicans, head south!

No, but marijuana can surely cure your ignorance! If you had any actual knowledge of it, maybe you would make some decent points.

Your use during high school doesn't count! I won't discount the six-(30?)packs, though! Nor will I give credence to your claims of decency and well-considered response. You're a pompous ass, who actually thinks somebody cares...

You are fun, though, and I would love to see the color on your cheeks!

"MOJAVE" is a disingenuous euphemism for dope.

Sounds about the same, and has about the same effect.

The premise is reiterated to Peter as a lesson on rfeceiving strangers...

Acts 10: 9About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. 13Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."

14"Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."

15The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

16This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

17While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon's house was and stopped at the gate. 18They called out, asking if Simon who was known as Peter was staying there. 19While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Simon, three[a] men are looking for you. 20So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them."

21Peter went down and said to the men, "I'm the one you're looking for. Why have you come?"

22The men replied, "We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and God-fearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to have you come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say." 23Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests.

I wonder if there is any thirst in the desert?

I used to build houses and develop land. I cannot count with all of our fingers and toes, how many "I'm from the gum't and I'm here to help you" occaions I have experienced.

My favorite was the New Hanover County (NC) building inspector who told me my structure wasn't "sound". I displayed the engineer drawings for him, but he red-tagged me. That week, we had a hurricane glance by, and do damage all around. My "un-sound" structure received the least damage of all those finished around it.

I called his boss and asked him to pay me a site visit. He took off the red tag. I wish he had come by before the storm, so I wouldn't have had the delay that caused me a loss. The house would have been better protected by then... but I was forced to stop!

It is scary. There is no such thing as real or personal property rights, when it comes to gum't "agents"!

He is disabled. His memory problems I attribute to MJ.

A very scientific statement, followed by a diatribe against COCAINE. The results of this are conclusively inconclusive, just like your "pet theory" of your child's problems.

Now, then, what were we talking about?
