[history]
He's an old man now, frail and sick and lying in a bed in an Orange County nursing home. But there was a time when he was a friend to millions of Americans, a man who brought laughter to countless guys who had precious little to laugh about.

VetsCoR currently has no WWII members in the area, but if there's anything you think we can help with, please don't hesitate to let us know. They indeed are "The Greatest Generation".

I just e-mailed my Dad as he is a WWII Vet and lives in Orange County (Laguna Niguel). Sent him a full copy of the article. Even tho' my Dad island hopped the Pacific ending up in China (mainland), I'm sure a convo would be great for BOTH of them. Thank God my Dad is still 'up-n-attem'. Hell, he's 84, Mom is 83 and I'm going down there in December to celebrate their 60th!! Guaranteed they will be 'cutting a rug' that night. God bless ya Mom and Dad.

I dont think you're a brat!! :-)
My favorite one of Bill Mauldin is the one where the private is sitting on his duff, eating C-Rats, and a Colonel is standing over him, and the private says, "One more crack like that and you wont have your job back after the war!"

It isn't pity, it's an honor to care about this man!
