FreeRepublic Fundraiser -- Important -- FreeRepublic NEEDS Your Help! (Thread 43)
8/31 -- 9/5/2001 | Topaz & Ron C.

Posted on 09/10/2001 8:02:15 PM PDT by Bryan

It will be very easy for you to say, "Well, I will do something, some day. When I can afford it, I am going to." But would you let an old "grad" tell you one thing now? Giving is a habit. Get into the habit now, because you will never be able to afford to give and contribute, thus to repay the obligation you owe to those people who made this college possible, if you wait until you think you can afford it. Start now regardless of how small, and in the days to come when you are confronted with demands for many worthwhile causes and charities I think you will find that you will give dutifully to all the worthy ones. But here and there you will pick one or two that will be favorites, and you can do no better than to pick this, your Alma Mater, because you will not only be repaying your own personal obligations, you will be making your contribution to the very process which has made and continues to keep America great.
This democracy of ours which sometimes we've treated so lightly, is more than ever a comfortable cloak, so let us not tear it asunder, for no man knows once it is destroyed where or when he will find its protective warmth again. - Ronald Reagan

Help keep the dream alive!

Imagine if there was no Free Republic... gasp!

- No Sore Loserman protests to save an election...

- No Washington Times Ad pushing Congress to Impeach...

- No exposing of traitorous public officials...

- No media watchdog to ferret out the bias...

- No Breaking News...

For these reasons and a thousand others, please support Free Republic

While the large donations are exciting, the small ones may be more treasured ...... they may actually be sacrificial. So don't be reluctant to give if your donation can only be $5 or $10 ..... those are vital to the success of FR. And bumps help, too! :-) - posted by WillaJohns -

Free Republic is a user supported website that runs off the brains, experience, energy, and yes, the cash, of freepers and lurkers. It is an undeniable fact that Free Republic has been instrumental in stopping the liberals with their socialist agenda, and keeping up the fight for conservative causes and against corruption in government.

If you feel strongly that Free Republic has made a difference and you want to see it continue on, please send in a donation of whatever your heart moves you to send.

Mongo not like bums. Mongo beat bums over head with big stick.

Mongo accept credit card by secure server. Mongo also accept check or money order by snail mail. Freepers not bums! Send Mongo money. Little bit is okay.

Helix has issued a challenge!

Helix will donate $40 and Kayak will donate $10 if just one person from each of the sissy pink states kicks in anything!

Challenge to all Washington state freepers!

If 10 registered Washington state freepers donate at least $10 each a challenger will donate another $100!

Connectthedots and SinginSuzi reduced that number to eight with a generous donations.

Come on Washington state two down - eight to go!

"I hope a few lurkers contribute tonight."

You know, they get quite the entertainment value on this site!

Especially if the cheap so-and-so's never throw a dollar in the tambourine once in a while!

I know I cruise around on threads I have no intention of posting on, or bookmarking, but these same threads contain an amazing range of human interaction and communication.

This site is the most 'conciousness-dense' site I have seen on the net.

There are sites with more erudition, although there are some frighteningly erudite threads and posters here;

There are sites with more purity, although a hundred moral dimensions are ready on a moment's notice to plunge into the fray no matter what the topic, fearing neither man, nor principalities and powers.;^)

For anyone with an inquiring open mind, this site, good old FreeRepublic, is as good as it gets for accessible intelligent interaction with a large, dare I say, community of interesting and self-believing patriots.

You could do worse.;^)

So come on, you lurkers!!! We know you've got deep pockets. it's just that your arms are short, right!

Hey, I'm not quitting my day job!

If you contribute to the FReepathon your life will be better.

Now that's a bargain at any price!

Thank you all for a wonderful 'virtual' birthday party. I am going to go out with the missus and daughter now for some 'real cake and ice cream'. Might be 'bumping' through the dark, a little bit later, so keep the 'Bar & Grill' open for a nightcap.

Thank you very much :)
You and all those many other hardworking dedicated freepers who have been keeping these threads going are the ones who are at the top of the list IMHO.
