She introduced them to Buddhism and American Indian religions. You'd think she might have tried introducing him to Catholic catecism, Baptist bible school, 7th Day Adventist Saturday school, Mormon Sunday school or any one of the hundreds of other sects who worship Jesus Christ.
But that wouldn't be tolerant or politically correct, would it? Christian religions are mere props to wrap the State Church in.

I don't want to hear about this jerks' family. They want family stories, tell us about Mike Spann's family.

...had been worried their son had been caught up in the bloody fighting in Afghanistan.Gee, wonder how that happened? Note to mom and dad: Your son is a traitor. This didn't "happen" to him, he declared war on the evil satan. He was trying to kill our troops and destroy our way of life. He lost. Hope his self-esteem hasn't been damaged.

He should be shot as the traitor that he is.
He's not an American, Americans like my son are over there defending this country, not trying to destroy it!

''We were horrified, but relieved the second we found out he was safe,'' his father, Frank Lindh, said last night. ''We have been praying and praying for him.'' To which god?
That a young man brought up in an open-minded Catholic home could end up fighting alongside puritanical Islamists has shocked residents of Fairfax, the middle-class community in Northern California where he lived.
Maybe because the home wasn't really Catholic to begin with?
I find it interesting that later in the article is an indication that he wasn't passive during the prison revolt, either. He joined in after other prisoners produced two grenades and used them.
I'm pretty sure he didn't join in to help the CIA men.
Hang him.

I wonder if his parents would get it if they heard the plop of his body on their driveway.
I wonder if they raised any other terrorists.

''Her concern is that he is injured, and is he going to survive his injuries, and how will he be treated by the American government.'' My concern is for the family of Mike Spann and his family.
As far as Asshola bin Lindh, I'm hoping he will be treated as a traitor by the American government and executed as such.

I wonder if his parents would get it if they heard the plop of his body on their driveway. Dad was on Laeey King last night and said that his son was found with an AK-47 ... but that he "didn't mean any harm". Just a good boy. I could immediately the problem with this kid was his parents.
To: All
I wonder if the parents would feel any different if he was one of the highjackers or if one of their immediate family members was in the WTC or Pentagon?

Considering the tragic loss of life on the USS Cole, which this scum supported, the tragic loss of life on September 11th. these people ought to be feeling nothing but shame. Pehaps they too ought to relocate to Yemen where no doubt they would be quite welcome. REMEMBER MIKE SPANN
To: sarcasm
So his family is worried now are they? I would have gotten worried back when my 18 year old wanted to go to Yemen to study Arabic. Not them, they bought his ticket.

Agreed. There was little openmindedness in my father's household regarding religion. There was just the Church and the many Holy Days of Obligation, with heavy emphasis on attendence, every other day or so it seemed at the time, and drilling us with flinty-eyed questions when we came home from catechism. Who would need to seek the discipline of Islam after being whacked into shape from all sides from Monsingor Logan, Father O'Connor, Sister Rose Mary and her gaggle of equally sadistic, ruler wielding penguins, and of course your own father, whom you feared the most, should it be discovered that you had to be disciplined by any of the above?
Catholic Schools - for when a military academy just doesn't deliver enough discipline.

How worried could they have been? I heard last night that he had gone missing for over a year, and they never even contacted the State Department about it.
