MessageToEagle.com - Normally, as a matter of personal preference I don’t get into politics, but when we have a presidential campaign that begins to cross over into the strange twilight zone of religious weirdness that centers on the one person who’s going to control the most powerful government and army on the face of the earth, well, it brings up some unusual scenarios to wonder about. It is being reported in the media today that former presidential candidate Mitt Romney only wrote a victory speech for Election Day; presumably a harried, last minute scramble to revise his speech was being...

Out of 175,554 registered voters, 247,713 vote cards were cast in St. Lucie County, Florida on Tuesday. Barack Obama won the county. When faced with the astronomical figures, Gertrude Walker, Supervisor of Elections for St. Lucie County, said she had no idea why turnout was so incredibly high. She was flabbergasted, saying, "We've never seen that here." Coincidentally (or not), St. Lucie County is also in Allen West's district, where 6,000 votes mysteriously "shifted" from Mr. West to his challenger.

It is arranged by topic in alphabetical order, over 100 of them taken from 40 different documents, and under each topic, for example, Original Sin, the Fall of Man there are a series of quotations,...

On 30 October 2012, a recession forecasting model developed by Marcelle Chauvet and Jeremy Piger reached what appears to be a critical threshold for anticipating a recession in the U.S. in the very near future.   The Reformed Broker's Joshua Brown comments (HT: Abnormal Returns): Do you see the percentages on the left side of the chart? 20% is the line in the sand. We've never hit that level and NOT had a recession. In 2006 we got close (18%?) but that particular Great Recession would be a year and half in the making. Note that we're back at that...

ENCINO (CBSLA.com) — A walk with a man’s dog uncovered years of memories for a Michigan family. The man uncovered home movies scattered all around a park. Only the park was no where near Michigan. Richard Ellman of Tarzana found the silent 8 mm movies in Balboa Park while walking Robo for their morning ritual. “Actually, he walks me,” quips Ellman. During a recent stroll, Ellman came across a box labeled “8mm movies.” He recalls the box “was upside down and empty.” Then Ellman began picking up strips. There was, he recalls, “Film all over the place. Spread all over.”...

It takes me a little time to deal with the emotions that bubble up when something does not go my way. I even got into a spat when Tom said after the election that locusts were next here at the Jersey Shore. I shot back saying I would kick his ass if I saw even one locust and that, even though he is a far more accomplished brawler that I, I could do it because in Jersey we don't fight fair. NJ is more often than not ahead of the curve. Obama took the middle in this election because "...

A lot of people say Obama is anti-business, but there’s one part of the American economy that is delighted that he got reelected. No, I’m not talking about bankruptcy lawyers or corrupt lobbyists, though those would be good guesses. The real winners from Obama’s re-election are America’s gun manufacturers and gun sellers. Not that I’ve looked at any data. I’m just basing this on the comments I’ve heard over the past few years and the up-tick in such comments in the past 36 hours. But I’m quite confident that the overall firearms industry has profited from Obama’s tenure.Anyway, the great economist Frederic Bastiat...

Oregon’s economy retreated in September, dampened by one of the sharpest monthly jobs losses since the recession. A University of Oregon gauge that tracks the state’s economic activity edged down to a reading of –0.66, meaning the state is expanding slower than its normal pace since 1990.

Investor Jim Rogers tells CNN to expect choppy investment waters in the years to come. "I would be very careful. The next couple years we're going to have turmoil and problems in most financial markets," Rogers told CNN's Andrew Stevens. "Don't invest in anything unless you, yourself know about it. Don't listen to some guy you see on TV -- even if it's me," added Rogers, who co-founded the Quantum Fund with George Soros. "You only stay with what you know and if all you know is money in the bank, put the money in the bank." With worried investors...

The morning after Tuesday's vote, there is one thing every commentator agreed on. The election of Barack Obama guaranteed that his signature piece of legislation — health reform — can now go forward. Republicans are powerless to stop it. Yet there is something all these commentators are overlooking. There are six major flaws in ObamaCare. They are so serious that the Democrats are going to have to perform major surgery on the legislation in the next few years, even if all the Republicans do is stand by and twiddle their thumbs. Here is a brief overview.ObamaCare is not paid for. The National Museum of Denmark regularly receives objects that appear to be stolen goods from the Viking Age. Shouldn't these objects be returned to their original owners? Ranvaik's golden chest was made in Ireland or Scotland toward the end of the eighth century and originates from a church or a monastery. "Ranvaik owns this shrine" the inscription on the bottom reads, as a strong indication that it later came to belong to a noble Viking lady named Ranvaik. Archaeologists believe that the shrine, which can be admired at the Danish National Museum, is stolen property from the Viking Age. "Viking...

....In the short term, the GOP must fight the count. Romney should never have conceded, and he must now find a reason to "unconcede." It's alarming advice to give the GOP, but in this the party must behave as the Democrats do. Try to imagine, for example, how the Obama campaign would have reacted if the numbers in Florida were reversed; if Scot Brown seemed guilty of practicing law without a license and won anyway; if a half-dozen major precincts responsible for electing Republicans claimed turnouts of 99% or more; if the Romney campaign had rather obviously both solicited and...

A large number of businesses seem to have suddenly shifted into panic mode. The number of layoff announcements that we have seen in the last 48 hours has been absolutely shocking. So why is this happening? Well, the truth is that the federal government is absolutely suffocating small businesses all over America with rules, regulations and taxes. If you...

Barack Obama has already done great damage to this country. He will do much more damage over the next four years John Galt Calling: Had Enough? By Doug Patton Thursday, November 8, 2012 “They believe in free stuff. We believe in free people.” - U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisconsin, 2012 vice presidential nominee When I heard Congressman Ryan utter those words during his speech to the Republican National Convention in Tampa last summer, I thought they would define the 2012 race for the White House. Vestas Wind Systems is aiming to sell a stake of as much as 20 percent and shed another 3,000 off its headcount, more than doubling the number of jobs it plans to eliminate by 2013. The announcement came as the Danish company reported disappointing financial results that sent its shares tumbling 13 percent. The world's biggest wind turbine-maker said Wednesday that its third-quarter loss widened to 175 million euros ($225 million), compared with a loss of 60 million euros in the year-ago period. Analysts had forecast net income of 20 million euros, according to a Bloomberg survey.
