The Washington Post is unsurprisingly in love with the new Obama-puffing film about Barack and Michelle’s first date. Movie critic Ann Hornaday won the prize for the biggest gush, comparing Obama to young Abe Lincoln: Like the warm summer day it chronicles, Southside With You possesses a mellow, languorous vibe, an infectious easygoing charm that insinuates itself gently, then seductively, as the couple at its center experiences the stirrings of what might be true love. That the two young people in question are named Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson almost feels like an afterthought in Richard Tanne’s modest but enormously...

In a not unexpected move, immigrant advocates filed a lawsuit Thursday taking on a federal court ruling that blocked President Obama's 2014 executive actions providing deportation relief to certain undocumented immigrants. The lawsuit argues that the federal judge who blocked the implementation of the programs -- Andrew Hanen, a conservative in southern Texas -- did not have the authority to impose a nationwide injunction. Because the Supreme Court was evenly divided when Hanen’s order was appealed to the eight justices, the new lawsuit could open the door for Obama's actions to go back into effect for at least some undocumented...

Tim Wise is a white “antiracist” and crusader for “social justice.”Recently, in an interview that he gave to Salon, Wise brought his “expertise” on race to bear upon the Trump phenomenon. Donald Trump, he claims, exploited the “market for white resentment [.]”Trump’s supporters, Wise assures us, are “crazy, bigoted, misogynistic” and “racist.” Moreover, they suffer from a “fragile masculinity” that’s threatened by the prospect of “pluralism,” of having to “share space” with those who aren’t white, Christian, heterosexual men. To these folks, Wise bluntly states, “there’s a part of me that wants to say, ‘Fuck you.’” He admits to wanting...

892 Last night, geriatric Hillary took aim at Breitbart, the alt-right and me in an effort to smear Daddy Donald as a bigot. Unfortunately the speech was low energy, inaccurate and above all sad. It was like a drive-by shooting with a water pistol fired from a mobility scooter. Clinton spoke at Truckee Meadows Community College, an intimate setting for the modest crowds Hillary attracts. If Trump was in Reno, he’d be at the Lawler Events Center at the University of Neva Reno campus with a standing room only crowd in the 12,000 seat arena. Hillary’s message can be distilled...

Photo from Sumter County Sheriff's Office About 6:30 p.m. on June 21, 2016, a 8.5-9 foot, 300 lb alligator was discovered near some agitated horses that belonged to Reginald Blanton, 74 years old. Blanton shot the reptile with a 9mm handgun, reportedly hitting it two or three times. Where he hit it is not clear, but the shots would likely have been mortal, because the alligator was still there, lying in the grass, when the authorities "euthanized it". While the story is two months old, there are important lessons to learn. After the shots, Blanton's stepson, Jack Hildreth, 58,...

The recent flooding in Baton Rouge is a study in media bias if you compare it to media coverage of Hurricane Katrina. While Baton Rouge flooded, President Obama continued to play golf at MarthaÂ’s Vineyard as if nothing was happening and the media gave him a pass. George W. Bush was accused of being a racist when he cut his vacation short and did a flyover of New Orleans back in 2005. Talk about double standards.Without a doubt, media coverage of Katrina was a hack job done by Bush-haters who wanted to paint the sitting president in the worst possible light....

The 2016 Presidential race is about to turn into the final stretch run, and the Sunshine State is again going to be a major player in the final outcome. As a born and raised Floridian here in Tampa, I will explore some important nuisances I believe will determine the Florida vote. First, there is little motivation to put too much stock in any polling from here before the Labor Day break. Until we start receiving post-Labor Day numbers based on likely voters and not just registered voters, the picture is too broad to base any concrete conclusions. Since the Democratic...

TRENTON — Donald Trump's apparent pivot away from his calls for mass deportations of millions of undocumented immigrants is partially the result of prodding by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, according to former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. And, Giuliani says, even more Christie-inspired changes to Trump's immigration stance will be forthcoming, like his call for tracking immigrant visas like Fedex packages, and using the E-Verify system to reduce illegal labor. In an interview with NJ Advance Media on Thursday, Giuliani, a top adviser to the Republican presidential nominee, said Trump's recent reversal on immigration policy came after his inner...

As stubborn facts ruin their narrative that neonicotinoid pesticides are causing a honeybee-pocalypse, environmental pressure groups are shifting to new scares to justify their demands for “neonic” bans.Honeybee populations and colony numbers in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and elsewhere are growing. It is also becoming increasingly clear that the actual cause of bee die-offs and “colony collapse disorders” is not neonics, but a toxic mix of predatory mites, stomach fungi, other microscopic pests, and assorted chemicals employed by beekeepers trying to control the beehive infestations.Naturally, anti-pesticide activists have seized on a recent study purporting to show that wild bee deaths in Britain have...

It’s easy to understand why Democrats have embraced amnesty for illegal aliens. Illegal aliens are mostly Hispanic and Hispanic voters lean heavily Democrat. Democrats look at a state like California which elected Ronald Reagan twice and see how flooding with Hispanic voters turned the state permanently Democratic. Their goal is to do that with the whole United States. It’s harder to understand why any elected Republicans or Republican consultants would support this idea – well, if you ignore the fact that it’s driven almost entirely by large amounts of cash being moved from the pockets of businesses that want to...

WINNIPEG — For years, people in the tiny northern Manitoba community of Norway House Cree Nation gossiped and whispered about why David Tait Jr. and Leon Swanson didn’t look much like their parents. Now, the two men — born just days apart in the same remote community’s hospital — are devastated after learning that they’ve called the wrong people their family for decades after apparently being switched at birth.

From srdem65’s post 8/26/16 @ 3:36 pm EDT: “Friends, we need a happy day here. No war, no politics, nada. Hopefully no tragedies to worry about either. Photos of our babies - two legged and four legged. Some yummy treats we might make at home, some lovely drinks to make, and an exotic meal or two. Tales of happy times with the family, the children. I'm getting burned out and I bet you are too.” “So let it be written. So let it be done.”Since I’m not going to be around I don’t think it would be wise to open...

EXCERPT New emails released by Judicial Watch reveal the inner workings of the State Department-Clinton Foundation nexus through which high level donors were given special access to Secy Hillary Clinton. Judicial Watch reports: Included among the Abedin-Band emails is an exchange revealing that when Crown Prince Salman of Bahrain requested a meeting with Secretary of State Clinton,...

“Never divide your forces in the face of a superior enemy.” This famous dictum has been a truism of war for 5,000 years. Heedless, our brothers and sisters in the Establishment, and in #NeverTrump, believe they can summon victory from the ashes of a conflagration of their own making. Worse, they continue to pursue their divisive actions despite their inability to define the victory they are pursuing.

While Russia has deployed advanced warplanes to Syria including the Sukhoi Su-30SM, Su-34 and Su-35S, those jets are seldom seen carrying Moscow’s latest air-to-air weapons. More often than not, the Su-30SM Flanker-H and Su-34 Fullback are spotted armed with Soviet-era R-27 semi-active radar and infrared-guided medium range air-to-air missiles. It is only on occasion that Su-35S Flanker-E fighters are spotted with active-radar guided R-77 RVV-SD missiles—which are roughly the equivalent of the American-made Raytheon AIM-120 AMRAAM. The reason Russian fighters are seldom spotted with advanced air-to-air weaponry are two-fold, explains researcher Mikhail Barabanov, editor-in-chief of the Moscow Defense Brief, which...
