Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin has long supported Russian President Vladimir Putin on social media, but Thursday afternoon, he took it a step further with an Instagram post, announcing the creation of a social movement in support of Putin that he’s labeling the Putin Team. “Personal achievements and medals – all of this great, but in hockey, like with everything, to win it’s important to have a team. Only a team is capable of changing the course of a game, achieve the impossible,” Ovechkin said in the post, which was translated by The Washington Post. “Lately, in the Western Press,...

s this our new normal? During my FBI career as a Special Agent and ultimately Assistant Director, the FBI, police, and domestic security agencies viewed terrorist incidents through a black and white, binary lens. If we “allowed” an attack to happen, we had failed. If we prevented an attack, we had succeeded. Yet, the increase in lone wolf, soft-target attacks — particularly attacks where trucks and cars are driven into large, vulnerable crowds — can actually be viewed as a symptom of our success. The Halloween terror attack that occurred in New York City raises an important question: Do we...

Earlier this week, Netflix indefinitely suspended production of the sixth and final season of House of Cards. Now, CNN has a report in which eight people corroborate accusations of sexual misconduct by Kevin Spacey on the set of the show. None of the people, who have worked on Cards in the past or at present, provided their names for fear of retaliation, but one former production assistant says Spacey assaulted him during an early season of the show. That PA describes the actor’s behavior as a “predatory,” and said the assault he suffered took place after he was tasked with...

But there’s still one last line they won’t cross. One of the most mystifying aspects of the 2016 election has been the short-term elevation of Hillary Clinton. She somehow went from being the “most qualified presidential candidate in history” to a spiritual figure, a person with a mystical presence. She walks the woods. She grants or denies absolution. When she speaks, grown women weep. Or at least they did yesterday. Today, things changed. Remember Donna Brazile? She’s the former CNN contributor and interim chairman of the Democratic National Committee. She last dominated the headlines in October of 2016, when a...

Police in Pakistan have arrested eight men for parading a 14-year-old through a village naked in connection with a dispute over family honour. The girl was abducted by the gang on October 27 before she was stripped down and forced to run through the streets of Garahmat village in Dera Ismail Khan. It is claimed the girl's brother had been having an affair. When the village council found out they ruled the scorned wife's family could hit back by punishing the alleged adulterer's sister.

"Someone get her help. Seriously." Note to news broadcasters everywhere: trying super hot foods probably isn't going to end well. Yesterday (October 25) saw the brave/foolish team of KWGN's Daybreak show attempt the One Chip Challenge from Paqui Chips, who have created a tortilla chip called Carolina Reaper Madness, flavoured with the world's hottest pepper. As some of the team took it in their stride, the heat really affected Natalie Tysdal, who made the decision to try and wash it down with coffee. Bad idea. As Natalie appeared to be sick behind the desk, one of her co-anchors got quite...

The enemedia is hard at work. Leftwing elites want to norm cold-blooded mass murder and savagery in the cause of Allah while exploding in indignant outrage at tweets and social media postings critical of Islam, Muhammad and Quran. The sanction the savagery and seek to criminalize sharia violations under the guise of “hate speech.” Evil. Becoming Numb To Terror Attacks ‘Might Be A Good Thing,’ Vox WritesNick Givas, Daily Caller, November 2, 2017Vox published an article Thursday suggesting it might be a “good thing” for people to be desensitized to acts of terror, in the hopes of frustrating future terrorists.The...

(2nd LD) Spy agency raises possibility of additional N. Korean nuke, missile tests 2017/11/02 SEOUL, Nov. 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's spy agency on Thursday raised the possibility of additional North Korean nuclear and missile tests, saying Pyongyang would continuously push to develop "miniaturized, diversified" warheads. During a parliamentary audit, the National Intelligence Service (NIS) also said that Pyongyang could likely begin the work of reprocessing spent fuel rods at its main nuclear complex in Yongbyon late this year. "The North will carry out additional nuclear tests and continue to push for the development of miniaturized, diversified nuclear warheads," the...

With the awful reality of a new and frightening type of terror attack being perpetrated in the streets of our country, my mind returns to the recent memory of a more peaceful day. On that evening, the gentle breezes rustling through the palm trees was matched in melodious beauty by the crash of the waves against the shore. As if in a symphony, the voices of some 50 worshippers rose in praise to our awesome God as we sang of His goodness at the outdoor service on Little Gasparilla Island. Erica Emmanuel, the pastor’s wife, led us in Hillsong’s “Oceans”:...

While senior Vatican officials declined comment, others who work in the area told the Register that direct U.S. assistance is a good idea.ROME — Although senior Vatican officials have declined to comment on the Trump administration’s announcement that it will bypass U.N. agencies in favor of providing direct U.S. assistance to help persecuted Middle Eastern Christians, others involved with such assistance have hailed the move. Vice President Mike Pence announced Oct. 25 that, from now on, the U.S. State Department would cease funding the United Nations’ relief efforts, which he characterized as “ineffective.” Instead, he said the Trump administration, through...

In this country, it is women – not religious dignitaries – who decide on whether to have children. This is according to the chair of the Serbian National Assembly Committee on Human and Minority Right, Meho Omerovic, who reacted on Wednesday. Omerovic spoke after Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Patriarch Irinej stated that “Serb women are obligated to give birth.” Omerovic recalled that Serbia respects the separation of church and state, and added, in a written statement sent to media outlets on Wednesday, that “religious dignitaries are free to ‘urge duty based on divine rules’.” “I do not wish to debate...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Special counsel Robert Mueller’s grand jury is investigating a prominent Democratic lobbyist and a former GOP congressman for their involvement in an influence campaign on behalf of Ukrainian interests tied to Paul Manafort, according to a person with direct knowledge of the investigation. At the center of the widening probe are Tony Podesta, a longtime Democratic operative, and Vin Weber, a former GOP congressman and leader of his own high-powered lobbying firm, Mercury LLC. The two men were hired as part of a multimillion-dollar lobbying effort directed by Manafort and longtime associate Rick Gates.

President Vladimir Putin made an appearance at the recent 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, speaking warmly and candidly about traditional morals and faith in God with the gathered youth who were excited and grateful for his visit, Russia Feed reports. “The third very important aspect for all of us, regardless of what we do or will do in the future—do you know what it is? It is the moral component of our work,” the Russian president told the young crowd. The World Festival of Youth and Students, held this year in Sochi from October 14 to 22, is...

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that after decades of being under the control of “anti-Christian, internationalist powers” the country needs a government “based on the teachings of Christ” which “made Europe and the Hungarians great”. The indomitable Hungarian leader Viktor Orban resolutely proclaims and advocates for Europe’s history and legacy of human rights and democracy, without apology and without fear of being branded an “Islamophobe.” Note that he does not exclude other faiths and cultures, but he will nonetheless likely (and wrongly) be branded a bigot.“Hungary: Governments Should Be ‘Dedicated to Christian Values’ that Made Europe Great”, by...
