Only 24% of precincts reporting so far (8:30 pm, EST), and the honest (er, republican) precincts will be least likely to have vote and absentee ballots fraud (er, over-counts and recounts and illegal counts), but the Republican is ahead 64% to 36%. Less important, the other race for Public Service Commission, the republican is also ahead by the same margin. Makes sense, there will be almost no ticket splitting in this runoff.

President Donald Trump and the first lady's graceful tribute to the late George H.W. Bush underscored, a little awkwardly, one reason for the tone and fragrance of all the obituary tributes we're reading. The Trumps praised -- with unimpeachable dignity -- Bush's "essential authenticity, disarming wit, and unwavering commitment to faith, family, and country," together with his "sound judgment and unflappable leadership." This string of attributes strikes many, I'm sure, as precisely the stuff some future president won't be saying about Trump. As if Trump -- who knows exactly who he is and isn't -- really cared! The late George...

Former Los Angeles Dodgers general manager and vice president Kevin Malone is a passionate man. It may well have been his passion that led to a confrontation with a fan in San Diego in 2001 that later resulted in his resignation from the senior circuit ballclub and proved to be the last moments of his 17-year Major League Baseball career. But in the years following Malone’s departure from baseball, God pointed his passionate heart toward a new area of interest, one that he wasn’t really fully aware of until he went on a trip to Thailand with his pastor at...
  • Avenatti Drops out of 2020 Presidential Race ─ Before He Even Officially Entered

Michael Avenatti announced that he is out of the race for president in 2020 even though he never officially entered the race to begin with. Avenatti became a household name as Stormy Daniels attorney in her legal battles with President Donald Trump. Because the lawyer had such a contentious relationship with the president, many hinted that he should run for president against Trump in 2020. Of course, Avenatti did nothing but add fuel to those fires by making visits to Iowa and posting several heavyhanded tweets.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LHxvxdRnYc We just got our second theatrical trailer for Captain Marvel thanks to Monday Night Football. As hoped/expected, this second sell has a bit more to offer than the unexpectedly cryptic first tease. No, it contains little in the way of Avengers 4 “clues,” just as Ant-Man and the Wasp’s marketing campaign had not a single explicit reference to Infinity War. Yes, the sell isn’t just “what makes her a hero” but also what makes Captain Marvel worth seeing beyond the customary “he” being a “she.” The trailer teases the notion that this 1990’s-set prequel is something of an origin...

Ministers have agreed to publish the government's full legal advice on the deal after MPs found them in contempt of Parliament for issuing a summary. And MPs backed calls for the Commons to have a direct say in what happens if her deal is rejected next Tuesday. Mrs May said MPs had a duty to deliver on the 2016 Brexit vote and the deal on offer was an "honourable compromise". Mrs May was addressing the Commons at the start of a five-day debate on her proposed agreement on the terms of the UK's withdrawal and future relations with the EU....

President Trump called on Democrats on Tuesday to vote to fund his proposed border wall, saying the project would pay "for itself in two months." In a tweet, Trump claimed "our Country losses 250 Billion Dollars a year on illegal immigration." Trump's appeal to Democrats comes ahead of a homeland security spending fight to avoid a partial government shutdown originally slated for Friday. House Republicans filed a stop-gap bill to move the deadline for a partial shutdown to Dec. 21 to accommodate for the funeral of former President George H.W. Bush, who died Friday. That bill is likely to be...

Ukraine’s future is again bound up in the political ambitions of Yulia Tymoshenko. The fate of the two-time prime minister and her country are once more tightly woven together — like the blonde halo braid that made her an international icon. Only this time, Ukraine is at war, and that means Tymoshenko’s third run for president could have implications far beyond her country’s borders, potentially rewriting relations between Russia and the West and unbalancing the geopolitical order.

The Navy will honor former naval aviator and 41st president George H.W. Bush on Thursday with a largest-ever 21-aircraft missing man formation as part of his funeral services in Texas. Thirty F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornets departed Naval Air Station Oceana, Va. today ahead of the Dec. 6 internment ceremony at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, Texas. A naval aviation official told USNI News that a missing man formation of this size is unprecedented and reflects Bush’s legacy as a naval aviator and ongoing relationship with the Navy’s carrier strike group community.

Mr. Comey, isn’t the Russia investigation a sham meant to help Hillary Clinton, the DNC, and those in former President Obama’s Justice Department obstruct justice so they don’t have to answer for their crimes? Here’s hoping that Phoney Comey is asked this question by one of the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee at the closed-door hearing on Friday where he’s scheduled to testify under oath. Not that anyone should expect an honest answer from him. But there is the distinct possibility that whatever answer he’d provide could later be proven false. Indeed, the reasons behind Comey’s request for an...

Beto O’Rourke, weighing whether to mount a 2020 presidential bid, met recently with Barack Obama at his post- presidency offices in Washington. The meeting, which was held Nov. 16 at the former president’s offices in Foggy Bottom, came as former Obama aides have encouraged the Democratic House member to run, seeing him as capable of the same kind of inspirational campaign that caught fire in the 2008 presidential election. The meeting was the first sign of Obama getting personally involved in conversations with O’Rourke, who, despite his November loss in a U.S. Senate race in Texas, has triggered more recent...

The Gulag forced-labor camps in the USSR were “a good thing” as prisoners worked there to the benefit of the state, a 23-year-old local MP in Yekaterinburg said, and was slammed online as a “monster” in need of a history lesson. “Gulag is, actually, a good thing. Previously, the people were sent to work under supervision – at least, there was some benefit from them. But now, the inmates – rapists and murderers – just drink builder’s tea and do nothing, while we waste our money on them,” Andrey Pirozhkov, a recently-elected Communist Party MP in the Yekaterinburg’s local parliament,...

WASHINGTON—A top FBI official who helped oversee two politically sensitive investigations related to the 2016 presidential campaign is retiring from government service. Bill Priestap, who currently serves as assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s counterintelligence division, will leave his post by the end of the year. Mr. Priestap, a 20-year veteran of the bureau, worked on organized crime and drug cases in Chicago before rising through the national security ranks of the agency after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Mr. Priestap’s retirement is unrelated to the controversies over the handling of the 2016 investigations, according to...

Brett Favre apologized over the weekend after it was revealed that he was tricked into recording an anti-Semitic video for an organization claiming to represent veterans. The “Handsome Truth” and the “Goyim Defense League”, known anti-Semitic groups, paid Favre $500 to read a script that included coded language and dog whistle messaging, prompting Favre to speak out when it became clear he was tricked. The groups used “Cameo”, an app that allows users to pay celebrities to record short video messages. Favre was paid to read the message which was intentionally written not to raise Favre’s suspicions but still appeal...

The fate of The Weekly Standard, the conservative magazine that has staked out a position as a publication on the right still critical of President Donald Trump, is uncertain, Editor-in-Chief Stephen Hayes told staff in a series of phone calls Tuesday, according to two people familiar with the matter. The magazine's precarious position comes after its leadership spent months searching for a buyer, the people told CNN. The people explained that The Weekly Standard's leadership had butted heads with MediaDC, the current publisher of the magazine, and that the two parties had agreed to allow Hayes to search for a...

CNN’s decision to drop Marc Lamont Hill has met with resistance on the left, with some prominent progressives calling for the network to rehire him and challenging the widely held view that his comments before a United Nations panel were anti-Semitic. Harvard professor Cornel West, “Avengers” star Mark Ruffalo, Democratic Rep.-elect Rashida Tlaib, and a host of journalists were among those who rushed to Mr. Hill’s defense after CNN released the liberal commentator last week following an uproar over his speech. Mr. West said he was in “deep solidarity” with Mr. Hill, while Mr. Ruffalo said that “[c]riticizing Israel is...
