MADISON - State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says the situation at the Capitol is "unsafe." It’s going to be a very ugly day in Wisconsin. A crowd of 5,000 union protestors swarmed the state Capitol in Madison shattered windows and barricaded themselves inside amid calls for a “class war” after news got out that Senate Republicans had circumvented a Democratic blockade of a bill curbing state union power. “This is war. This is a class war that has been leveled against the working people of this country,” Moore told anchor Rachel Maddow. Some labor leaders are calling for a day of unrest and want teachers to again walk off the job in protest of the...

A highly connected source in Wisconsin politics tells Fox Nation all hell is breaking loose at the state capitol. “Republican leadership was considering calling in SWAT teams or the National Guard. Plans have been set. We have almost completely lost control of the capitol building. Protesters now control the first and second floors and are amassing outside the governor’s office."

Sen. Chris Larson (D-Milwaukee) said Thursday that the 14 Senate Democrats who have been in Illinois plan to meet this afternoon to discuss their options in the wake of the Senate vote Wednesday night to eliminate collective bargaining provisions for most public workers. Larson said the group will examine what legal options are available to them to contest what they believe was an illegal action Wednesday night when a committee stripped some financial elements from the bill, which they said allowed them to pass it with the presence of a simple majority. Democrats say that meeting was a violation of...

Thousands of protesters pushed past security, climbed through windows and flooded the Wisconsin Capitol on Wednesday night after Senate Republicans pushed through a plan to strip most public workers of their collective bargaining rights. Within an hour and a half of the vote, the protesters had seized the building's lower floors, creating an ear-splitting free-for-all of pounding drums, screaming chants, horns and whistles. Police gave up guarding the building entrances and retreated to the third floor. Protester Damon Terrell, 19, called Senate vote a "despicable travesty." "They know what they're doing is wrong," he said. "Which child hides what they...

Making a last-ditch effort to save his health care overhaul, President Barack Obama on Monday put forward a nearly $1 trillion, 10-year compromise that would allow the government to deny or roll back egregious insurance premium increases that infuriated consumers. Posted Monday morning on the White House Web site, the plan would provide coverage to more than 31 million Americans now uninsured without adding to the federal deficit. It comes just four days before Obama's one-of-a-kind, televised health care summit with Democrats and Republicans.
