The 2006 film Amazing Grace depicts William Wilberforce's campaign to end the slave trade in Great Britain. A scene from the movie depicts the abolitionist Members of Parliament discussing how to proceed in the legislature after numerous failures. The issue had become so polarized that a direct vote on the slave trade was a losing proposition. The following dialogue between Wilberforce and fellow Member of Parliament James Stephen (who was about to present his eye witness account of slave operations to the rest of Parliament) ensues: Stephen: If we go to Parliament with this evidence, there'll be sympathy, there'll be...

Dear Friends, Today, a long, hard-fought battle for women's health and dignity has finally been won in the State Senate! Just this afternoon, the Democrat controlled Virginia State Senate passed a bill which will require abortion clinics to meet hospital-style safety standards. This will mean that any abortion clinic which performs more than 5 abortions in a month will need to meet safety standards comparable to any other clinic which performs out-patient procedures. For over 25 years, Virginia abortion clinics have not been held to minimal health and safety standards. As a result, women who walk into these clinics are...

When Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams raided the medical offices of Kermit Gosnell, he thought he was raiding a pill mill, the largest source of illegal painkillers sold on the streets of his city. Williams instead discovered a squalid “house of horrors” where illegal late-term abortions were done on drugged, dazed women, where the late-term babies were born alive then murdered by severing their spinal cords with scissors, and where the severed feet of those late-term babies were kept in jars as trophies.Williams, a newly elected Democrat, was not an anti-abortion crusader by any means, but what he found shocked...

Virginia Pro-Life groups and Virginia citizens are outraged with Planned Parenthood and their promiscuous behavior in light of hidden cameras catching employees on video aiding and abetting sex trafficking, underage abortion services to prostitutes and catering their abortion services to local strip joints such as Richmond's Paper Moon, a local strip bar. The pro-life group, Live Action, exposed multiple Planned Parenthood abortion mills in the sting, citing a common "playbook" or agenda for handling abortion paths for underage, illegal, or the sex trade business (prostitution). This comes on the heels the Pennsylvania abortion mill that killed seven infants and a...

PHILADELPHIA — For years, state health officials missed some unsettling patterns at the three-story brick abortion clinic on Lancaster Avenue. It was always open late, way past the time the pizza place next door closed at midnight. The women who emerged from it — often poor blacks and Hispanics — appeared dazed and in pain, and sometimes left in ambulances. The doctor who ran the clinic, Kermit Gosnell, had been sued at least 15 times for malpractice. Two women died while under his care. But the dangerous practices went unnoticed, except by the women who experienced them. They were discovered...

Two notorious abortion mills have closed or are scheduled to close, contributing to the national trend of clinic closures first documented by Operation Rescue last year in "Project Daniel 5:25." In Yakima, Washington, the Cedar Women's Clinic, which was the first abortion clinic to open in that city 31 years ago, closed Monday due to a dramatic decrease in the demand for abortions. According to statistics kept by the state, the abortion rate for women ages 15 to 44 dropped from 18 per 1,000 in 2008 to 16.7 per 1,000 in 2009. One abortion clinic remains in Yakima. In...

Planned Parenthood—an organization that kills preborn babies, destroys the lives of mothers and, through its brand of sex education, helps form a twisted sense of sexuality among teens—has reached its long arm into our communities for far too many years. Aided by a government that supports it by giving it millions in tax dollars, Planned Parenthood will stop at nothing to pervert the lives of America’s youth. Many years ago, one man had a vision of how to stop Planned Parenthood’s encroachment of our society. When Stop Planned Parenthood International (STOPP) started in 1985, the man who had the brilliant...

RALEIGH, North Carolina, June 23, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A Raleigh abortuary that has seen constant prayer from pro-lifers with the popular 40 Days for Life campaign has ceased performing abortions. The Raleigh News and Observer reported Wednesday that National Women's Health Organization of Raleigh is, in the words of one local pro-abortion affiliate, "in transition." The paper reports that the abortuary was generally thought to be for sale after its founder, pro-abortion activist Susan...

I've reported previously on the massive pro-life protests and prayer vigils at a St. Paul, MN, Planned Parenthood abortion mill as well as PP's annual "Good Friday solidarity event." Well, PP of MN, ND, and SD is closing that mill and building a 46,000 sq. ft., 3-story mega-mill in an industrial park. Why now? According to StarTribune.com: [Sarah] Stoesz [president and CEO of PP in MN], said PP is preparing for a possible increase in demand because of the new federal health care bill, which will add millions of people to insurance rolls starting in 2014. Many will be the...

Houston, Texas, January 18, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, national spiritual and political leaders joined a sign-waving crowd of what is being reported as "thousands" of pro-lifers in Houston today to rally against what they called a "prenatal racial genocide" perpetrated by Planned Parenthood through abortion. In April, Planned Parenthood purchased a six-story, 78,000-square-foot former bank building in Houston to turn into the nation's largest abortion mill. The building is situated in an 80% minority community area. The move sparked outrage from pro-lifers, who said that Planned Parenthood began as a eugenics organization designed to...

Operation Rescue has launched Project Daniel 5:25 -- a reference to scripture dealing with handwriting on the wall. Operation Rescue has done extensive research to determine how many abortion clinics have closed in the last two decades. Spokesman Troy Newman believes the days of legal abortion in America are numbered. "[We] come up with a number of nearly 1,500 of these abortion clinics that have closed and not reopened," he explains. "And so just like the biblical story of Daniel, [who] reads the handwriting on the wall that says that this wicked kingdom will soon come to an end, it...

movement is winning the abortion battle because nearly 1,500 abortion businesses have closed down since 1991. The report, from Operation Rescue, is an encouragement at a time when the pro-life community is frustrated by the abortion-health care debate in Congress. The pro-life group says the number of abortion facilities has declined as polls have shown Americans increasingly pro-life. "We now have an accurate listing of every open abortion clinic in the country," Operation Rescue president Troy Newman told LifeNews.com. "In 1991, it was estimated that there were nearly 2,200 abortion clinics in the country, today there are just 713." "The...

The new late-term abortion clinic / Pro-life leader Karen Garnett Dallas, Texas, Nov 8, 2009 / 07:12 pm (CNA).- An abortionist who says he know he is “killing” has opened a late-term abortion clinic in North Texas, prompting local pro-lifers to express their dismay that such a clinic was absent for only 14 months. However, they also affirmed their resolve to peacefully end the “grave evil” in their community. Dr. Curtis Boyd, who opened the first abortion clinic in Texas in 1973, is the only doctor in North Texas who will perform abortions on women up to six months...
