UNIPARTY On Sunday Ronna McDaniel went on CNN’s State of the Union and said Republicans need to work with Joe Biden if they win Congress. Ronna McDaniel: “If [Republicans] win back the House and the Senate, it’s the American people saying to Joe Biden, we want you to work on behalf of us and we want you to work across the aisle and solve the problems that we are dealing with.” Who is this person?

Ted Cruz hit back at Donald Trump today for his attack on Cruz, that he won't go along to get along to curry favor in Washington. Of course Cruz accepts this criticism and in turn says that if you want someone who will go along to get along and cut deals with the likes of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer, then Donald Trump is your guy. Couldn't have said it better myself. It's clear Trump puts a high priority on his ability to cut deals with people and that's just not something I'm looking for in a candidate....

Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) has endorsed Rep. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) in her Senate bid, a surprising move since the seat could be in play for Republicans this fall. Young praises Hirono for working across the aisle in the lighthearted Web ad, in which he repeatedly jokes about criticizing House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) before hugging Hirono at the end. In the battle to shape the future of the Republican party, many have suggested a move to the center. Now what? The Republican Party -- nationally and in Pennsylvania -- lies in tatters. Having lost the White House to Barack Obama, suffered historic losses in congressional elections, been almost shut out in statewide races and experienced further erosion in the state House, there is no doubt the GOP has hit rock bottom. It is, most significantly, a loss for so-called moderate Republicanism. Party moderates have opined time and again that a more middle-of-the-road presidential candidate could win Pennsylvania. McCain was touted as that candidate. It was a double-digit trouncing.

Sarah Palin's allies are pushing back against a stream of accusations leaking out of John McCain's campaign, and Palin herself has called her critics "cowardly." Palin insisted she never asked for the expensive wardrobe purchased for her use on the presidential campaign. "I never asked for anything more than a Diet Dr. Pepper once in a while," Palin said as she returned to the governor's office from her two-month odyssey as the GOP vice presidential nominee.
