KAYSVILLE - Three Utah members of the Animal Liberation Front claimed credit Monday for breaking into a Kaysville farm early Sunday, destroying property and releasing thousands of minks. A statement posted on the ALF Web site states that the group entered the farm, released the minks and destroyed all breeding records. The Ashley family said goodbye to their golden retriever Elvis Wednesday night before he was put to sleep after suffering from anti-freeze poisoning. Police say 54-year old Nathan Alan Neal admitted to standing on a chair and pouring anti-freeze next to Elvis’ dog house. Neal could face up to five years in jail and a $10,000 dollar fine if found guilty of animal cruelty.

A 19-year-old PETA supporter was arraigned Tuesday on a second-degree assault charge accusing him of punching a member of the family that owns Georgios Furs, Camillus police said. At a Saturday evening gathering of about 10 people, William C. Prusinowski, of Camillus, became upset when Kristoforos J. Politis, also 19, of Onondaga, showed up at a Camillus residence on Richlee Drive, said Capt. DOWNINGTOWN -- A national animal rights organization has objected to the borough’s plan to kill hundreds of the Canada geese that populate the borough’s parks, ponds and wetlands.
