    PERSONAL LABCORP REPORT
I am a 74 yo white male who received the J&J vaccine in March 2021. In August LABCORP performed a COVID antibody test (SARS-CoV-2 Semi-Quant) with a reported result of 506.8 U/ml which was deemed to be a positive (good) result but without any means to evaluate how positive it was. The antibody test was repeated in 90 days (on 11/23/2021), now 9 months from the original jab. The results of the second test reveal that my antibody level INCREASED from 506 in August to 685 in November. I am hoping that there might be someone out there who can...
  • FDA Made ‘Dangerous Error’ by Advising Against COVID Antibody Testing

On May 19 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a dangerous and totally inappropriate guidance advising against COVID-19 antibody testing pre- or post-vaccination. This FDA guidance is dangerous because it discourages and blocks most American physicians from using a gold standard assay for immunity to COVID-19. But, it is of paramount importance for every American citizen and resident and his/her physician to be able to assess the status of one’s immunity to COVID-19 during this pandemic for two reasons. First, if a person is found to have no COVID-19 antibodies prior to vaccination, that person will know that...

Before I get to the missing link subject of this article, I want to be clear that I think there’s a broader missing link in the leftist brain. That link is for logical thinking and truth recognition. We’ve been asked — no, it’s demanded of us — to ignore critical thought for so long, that some people have forgotten how to think and question. We all need to exercise our minds, and be vocal, too.The specific missing link I’m talking about is in the COVID dialogue. As I watch California attempt to send its populace into another panic over the...

Even a robot programmed to “follow the science” would throw up his hands in despair while reading the latest FDA COVID pronouncement. After untold numbers of people have been given antibody tests to determine their COVID status, the FDA now states: “Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a safety communication informing the public that results from SARS-CoV-2 antibody tests should not be used to evaluate immunity or protection from COVID-19 at any time, and especially after the person received a COVID-19 vaccination.” Boom. -The FDA warned Wednesday that relying on antibodies for protection from COVID-19 may leave people vulnerable -A vaccine is still needed to confirm immunity from the effects of the virus -Positive antibody tests also won't work as a substitute for proof of vaccination because the blood screening looks for different proteins than shots trigger -Brief comes as vaccine progress in the United States slows down Testing positive for COVID-19 antibodies is not sufficient replacement for receiving the vaccine, according to a briefing released by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday.

After Fully-Vaccinated Father Dies of COVID-19, Family Hopes Story Raises Awareness A suburban Chicago family who lost their fully vaccinated father to COVID-19 said they hope his story can help others with certain pre-existing conditions and immune deficiencies as they say his unexpected passing left them with a major "what if." Alan Sporn, owner and president of Spornette International and an outgoing father of four who was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in 2019, had been taking added precautions throughout the coronavirus pandemic, despite not yet requiring treatment for his cancer. "We were very careful when we visited him, always...

Up to 16 million people in the United States may have had undiagnosed, asymptomatic COVID-19 as of September 2020 -- twice as many as previously estimated -- an analysis published Tuesday by JAMA Network Open reported. Just under 7% of about 62,000 people in the United States with no symptoms of infection tested in the study had antibodies against the virus, the data showed.. Antibodies are cells produced by the immune system to fight off infection, and their presence in blood suggests that people either are battling the virus or were recently. The nearly 16 million asymptomatic cases is more...

A novel coronavirus antibody test kit can provide faster results than existing ones, and it can measure the strength of the immune response to COVID-19 or coronavirus vaccination. The cPass test looks for neutralizing antibodies, which are the proteins that can bind to the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 and render it useless. The virus won’t be able to infect cells and multiply inside them. The test is already undergoing review with the US Food and Drug Administration and has been approved for use in the European Union and Singapore. How long does COVID-19 immunity last once you survive the illness or...

TOPLINE In updated guidance posted on its website over the weekend, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention acknowledged an inability to accurately determine if individuals had been infected with Covid-19 via antibody tests; if the test is used in a population where prevalence is low, it's possible that "less than half of those testing positive will truly have antibodies."

Antibody Test There are significant differences in the accuracy of antibody tests based on their "sensitivity," or their ability to identify those with antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 (true positive rate), and their "specificity," or their ability to identify those without antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 (true negative rate). Agencies within the U.S. government, such as the NIH, have been evaluating the FDA-allowed antibody tests. An evaluation of the 11 currently allowed tests (see table below) showed that sensitivity ranges from 83.3% to 100% and specificity ranges from 94.4% to 100%. None of the diagnostic products provide 100% on both measures. The best performing...

A phlebotomist working at a Chicago hospital said Thursday that 30 to 50 percent of those tested for coronavirus have antibodies, and 10 to 20 percent of those tested are actual carriers of the virus. Sumaya Owaynat, a phlebotomy technician for Rosewood Community Hospital, has had extensive experience with coronavirus testing over the last few weeks, as she has been testing around 400 to 600 people per day in the hospital’s parking lot. Owaynat also stated that there is a far greater number of those that have come through her line and have already recovered from the virus compared to...

On Tuesday, George Stephanopoulos shared a health update following his coronavirus diagnosis. Stephanopoulos announced he tested positive for COVID-19, the respiratory illness caused by the virus, on Good Morning America last week. “Good news for me and my family. Last week I tested positive for COVID antibodies, confirming I cleared the virus after weeks without symptoms,” he tweeted. “I’ve also signed up for a clinical trial to donate my blood plasma and expect to make the donation in the coming weeks.” An antibody test, also known as a serological test, can help indicate whether a person has already built an...

Major League Baseball will have about 10,000 employees partake in a vast and unique study on the viability of COVID-19 antibody testing, multiple league sources confirmed to CBS Sports. The study, which will not affect any timeline for a potential start of the 2020 MLB regular season, will include participants from 27 of the league's 30 teams and help determine whether test subjects have been infected with COVID-19 even if they never presented symptoms. The tests, which were distributed at each participating team's ballpark, were available on a voluntary basis. The team's medical personnel had to know an individual was...

A team of researchers in California found that the number of coronaviruses cases in one county may actually be up to 85 times higher than the what health officials have tallied, and say their data may help better estimate the virus’ true fatality rate. Earlier this month, Stanford University-led researchers tested 3,330 adults and children in Santa Clara County, who were recruited using Facebook ads, for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and found that the population prevalence of COVID-19 in Santa Clara ranged from 2.49 percent to 4.16 percent. ... “This probably aligns with what overall national exposure may be, on order of...

When the antibody tests go mainstream people will get tested for both. Antigen negative, antibody negative = You haven't yet contracted COVID-19, although you could be incubating a case of COVID-19. Antigen positive, antibody negative = You have a case of COVID-19 which you haven't begun to fight off. CLEVELAND, Ohio -- There’s no way to know right now how much of Ohio’s population has coronavirus, because of limited testing. The “tip of the iceberg” is how Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton refers to the 2,547 confirmed cases of COVID-19. A potential solution to know just how widespread the coronavirus is -- and how many people have had it without developing symptoms -- could be antibody testing. The idea is to check for antibodies the body has produced to fight off the coronavirus, basically to see if someone has developed immunity. The method uses blood testing...

BioMedomics, Inc. (Morrisville, NC, USA) has developed and launched one of the world’s first rapid point-of-care lateral flow immunoassays for the diagnosis of coronavirus infection. The new rapid IgM-IgG combined antibody test for COVID-19 is used to qualitatively detect IgG and IgM antibodies of the novel coronavirus in human serum, plasma or whole blood in vitro. These proteins indicate that a person’s immune system has responded to infection with the COVID-19 virus. It is one of the world’s first rapid tests for coronavirus utilizing this technology. Recent studies suggest that a high percentage of patients show no clinical symptoms of...
