A man who was shot this morning while he was trying to rob a Waffle House in North Charleston has died from his injuries, authorities said. A Gresham man shot and killed one of four intruders who had entered his mobile home Saturday and began stabbing him with a knife. The 34-year-old resident fought back by grabbing a pistol and shooting two of his attackers, Gresham police say. Police arrived to find one of the suspected intruders, a 25-year-old man, dead at the scene from a gun injury. The resident also shot a 16-year-old suspect, who was brought to a local hospital and Sunday morning was still being treated there.

The victim of a harrowing gunpoint robbery in Mississippi on Saturday grabbed a gun out of his truck and opened fire, killing one robber and sending the other fleeing. Jackson Police said the victim turned the tables on a pair of robbers after he was robbed of his wallet and forced to drive to an ATM to get money, Mississippi News Now reported.

MILWAUKEE — Shortly before sunrise, police said a stolen van smashed through the doors of the Bouchard’s Sporting Goods store near North Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive. The burglars were unaware the owner was sleeping inside. Police said he greeted them with gunfire. A short time after the shooting, three guys showed up at the emergency room at Columbia St. Mary's.
