I have a selection of audio streams I listen to via a number of different methods. Not often, but just now, they just stop. (This one was being run with WinAmp, but I also use WindowsMedia, and whatever PopupPlayer is being used.) This one had been going for about an hour, and usually continues until I stop it, somtimes five hours later. Obviously, if I'm listening it's not a big problem to recognize that the stream has stopped and restart it. But there are times when I leave a stream running so I can capture it while I am out....

Via Breitbart TV. Given Stern’s reach and the otherwise adoring coverage of OWS, this may well be the biggest PR hit the movement’s taken so far. People are buzzing about this Quinnipiac poll out today showing that a heavy majority of New Yorkers agree with “the protesters’ views” — whatever those might be — but the numbers are a fait accompli. In the 2008 election, Brooklyn broke 79/20 for Obama; Manhattan 85/14; and the Bronx 88/11. So long as the protesters babble feelgood platitudes about “economic justice” and take care to ruin the quality of life only for those residents/businesses...

If it was a joke, North Carolina Democratic Governor Bev Perdue needs to polish her delivery. Newly released audio contradicts the claims of Perdue’s press team that her call Tuesday for suspending Congressional election was a joke or hyperbole. In the recording, her tone is matter-of-fact and her comments are part of a serious speech.

In a series of secretly recorded audio tapes, the owner of the gun store that sold a record number of weapons in Operation Fast and Furious admittedly sounds arrogant, crude and complicit in the U.S. government's plan to sell high powered assault rifles to the Sinaloa Cartel. However, the lawyer representing the Lone Wolf Trading Co. says owner Andre Howard made the tapes only after he suspected he was being lied to, and his language is meant to get Hope MacAllister, an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, to implicate herself and her agency in their...

Ben Shapiro plans to release audio from interviews he conducted for his just-released book, Primetime Propaganda: The True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV, a little at a time in a strategy learned from Andrew Breitbart’s ACORN exposes. The strategy seems to be working pretty well; after debuting with Hot Air and Townhall yesterday, Ben gets the Hollywood Reporter to release a couple of juicy quotes on tape today from television producer Susan Harris (Golden Girls, Soap), legendary TV executive Fred Silverman, and even COPS creator John Langley, who says he prefers to choose segments based...

A friend who was with the San Francisco Giants fan who was brutally beaten on Opening Day described a scene that went from "intimidating to hostile." Appearing on the "Mason and Ireland" show Monday on 710 ESPN Radio in Los Angeles, Corey Maciel said that approaching Dodger Stadium in Giants gear that day was not comfortable from the get-go. "It was pretty hostile just walking up to the stadium -- it was intimidating, to say the least," he said. "There were a lot of Dodgers fans angry that we were there. We got things thrown at us the whole time...

In the years following the September 11th 2001 attacks, Osama bin Laden seemed very eager to appear on camera releasing numerous Al Qaeda propaganda videos. For the last 18 months, however, his public messages have been audio only, like the tape posted on the internet Wednesday. Between the threats and the rhetoric on this tape, however, one can also hear that bin Laden is quite short of breath for a man who is just 52 years old, suggesting a possible health issue. "This is the first real indication that we've had of a bin Laden health problem," said John Kiriakou,...

I can't confirm that (al Qaeda's responsibility for the attack) nor can we confirm the authenticity of the tape, but assuming that it is him, his message contains the same hollow justifications for the mass slaughter of innocents that we've heard before," David Axelrod said on CNN's "State of the Union" program. The audiotape that aired on Al Jazeera television on Sunday claimed responsibility for the attempted Christmas Day bombing of the Detroit-bound plane. A Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, has been

l-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden called on France to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan in exchange for releasing French hostages being held by affiliates of the extremist group, according to a new audio message broadcast on an Arabic news channel Friday. "The exit of your hostages out of the hands of our brothers depends on the exit of your troops from Afghanistan," bin Laden said in the message broadcast by al-Jazeera. Bin Laden reminded the French people of President Nicolas Sarkozy's refusal in November to withdraw the French troops from Afghanistan and to negotiate with al-Qaida over the hostages.

For some time now, I've noted that the AUDIO coming down the Comcast cable system has been doing a sine wave thing where the audio feed grows LOUDER then softer then LOUDER again, etc DURING THE BROADCAST. The cycle time for this wave thing is usually around 20 to 30 seconds. We all know by now that broadcasters crank the audio during commercials (my "mute" button is about worn out). And those dinnertime spots for Preparation H are my favorites. The problem I'm describing occurs DURING tbe program BETWEEN commercials. Inasmuch as this happens with all of the sets here,...

I am using Audacity to edit an audio file. Within this file, I would like to select a portion and add an effect. I want the effect to begin no earlier and no later than what I want. Similar to the ending. Right now,I am selecting a portion of the file based on an educated guess. Then I listen to the whole selection, and adjust the beginning and ending of the selection accordingly. The problem is, doing it this way takes a long time, because I have to listen to the whole selection. I thought I could just jump to...

Reuters: The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attempted car bomb attack in New York's Times Square. It was not immediately possible to verify the authenticity of the claim. Security officials have urged caution, saying there could be links to other Islamist groups or to a domestic cause in the United States. Qari Hussain Mehsud, a member of the Taliban in Pakistan, is reportedly behind this audiotape. The Long War Journal: The tape has yet to be verified, but US intelligence officials contacted by The Long War Journal believe it is legitimate. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan News Channel on YouTube was...

The Obama administration has advised Congress to cut off pensions for 26 elderly members of the World War II-era Alaska Territorial Guard who served the nation without pay during the Japanese attack. According to McClatchy Newspapers, the administration sent a "strongly worded" message to Congress concerning its priorities for a military spending bill, and the service members didn't make the cut.

THE EGO HAS LANDED During his campaign, Barack Obama took a moment while walking to his jet to stop and answer a couple of questions, off-the-cuff and ad-lib, for a gaggle of paparazzi swooning and fawning behind a rope-line en-route from the terminal. As an affable Hussein smiled congenially at his biggest fans, a reporter went badly rogue and asked the candidate a tough question regarding his birth certificate; something along the lines of, “Why won’t you just show it?” The smile, which had never quite reached his eyes anyway, twisted into a thin-lipped snarl, as those eyes went steely...

Obama has said lots of things, but rarely has he said anything that would make the GOP happy. In a recent conference call with liberal bloggers, Obama took a question from a blogger in Maine who may or may not still be free to express his views, especially since his question has come to make Obama look a bit uninformed and got him to say he would not sign the current health care bill. Yes folks, the lost seconds of the following audio actually have Obama saying as much. Listen to him say he won't sign it if.... (Now that's...

On Sunday, the left channel (front and back) cut out with nary a sound coming from the left rear, and the front left speaker was tweeter only. After sitting overnight, (Monday morning) the stereo functioned normally (as far as I could tell) for a few minutes, and then same thing. Last night, I removed left side speakers, and discovered left front speaker was blown (and probably was Monday morning, but I just didn't notice). Left rear speaker was ok. Moved left rear to left front, and replaced left rear. (I checked both speakers to make sure they were functional before...

The debate on the 'fairness doctrine' is heating up(audio) American author, teacher, social critic and dissident feminist, Pamela Paglia, blasts the democrats for wanting to re-institute the so called 'fairness doctrine'. She called them 'immature' and said they want to violate the 'essence' of free speech and the 'soul' of the Democratic Party. Meanwhile, former President Bill Clinton said we need something like the 'fairness doctrine' to provide 'balance'. Is he serious? We need to provide balance to the Main Stream Media, not political comment. Audio is here. 'fairness doctrine' debate(audio)

Amazon.com Inc., pushing further into the digital distribution of books, unveiled a thinner and faster version of its Kindle electronic-book reader but raised controversy among publishers and others with a new text-reading feature. "Our vision is every book ever printed in any language all available in 60 seconds," said Amazon Chief Executive Jeff Bezos at a Monday press conference in a New York library. The Seattle company also said it has a new work by best-selling novelist Stephen King, called "Ur," which will be available exclusively on Kindle. Originally launched in November 2007, Kindle has been so popular that it...

I recorded the audio today. It was too good to pass up. Listen as Hannity grills Specter over his support for the Theft Act of 2009. Someone who’s supposed to represent conservatism has completely sold out to the Democrats. This is a perfect example of the problems within the Republican party and the conservative/libertarian movement. We need to make an example our of Specter and weed him out! He is truly blind to what is going on around him. It seems that all he cares about gaining political points with moderate Democrat constituency, when really, he’s so isolated in his...

If you’ve ever read President Obama’s Dreams From My Father, good for you. I couldn’t get past the foreword. I wish I had. Because today I discovered that there’s a fairly juicy little subplot in the book, involving one of Obama’s high school friends. Ray, a fellow classmate of Obama’s, was also bi-racial, and also trying to define himself. But what set him apart was his colorful manner of self-expression. Ray cursed like a _____________. This would all be snickerworthy enough, but it turns out that Obama actually read the audiobook version of Dreams From My Father. And that means...

I [jsdjason] am currently listening to a show from 2000 of Bill Ayers. So far he has quoted Marx, referred to students abroad looking back at the U.S. in horror, and he has criticized the MSM. I will post links to all audio files shortly. Listen to them for any info you can find......

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The close of 2007 marked the end of a decade of decline for the music industry. Digital audio — first illegal and now legal — has permanently changed how people find, buy, and listen to music. The new music industry economics will bring in $4.8 billion in revenue from digital downloads in the US in 2012, yet even the 23% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from now until then will not compensate the industry for its losses. Media executives eager to stay afloat in this receding tide must clear the path of discovery and purchase, but only hardware...

WASHINGTON, Sept. 13, 2007 – Defense officials today released the audio file of the March 10 Combatant Status Review Tribunal of terrorist leader Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, who masterminded the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. In the tribunal at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Muhammad admitted to masterminding both the 9/11 attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. A written transcript of the hearing was released in March. Five pages of the written text of the written transcript were eliminated from the audio file because of the potential impact of the statements in spoken form, including the possibility that sound bites...

Fifteen news organizations and five other groups are asking a federal judge to release audio recordings each day in the upcoming criminal trial of Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff. The Supreme Court releases audio recordings of arguments in major cases, and lower federal courts have "started to follow the Supreme Court's lead," lawyers for the news organizations said in filings this week in U.S. District Court. Cheney is expected to testify for his former aide, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, and other witnesses will include NBC Washington bureau chief Tim Russert. "Most of the key witnesses are public...

SACRAMENTO A Los Angeles talk radio station said it used the same procedure to access a private part of the governor's Web site that his Democratic rival's campaign used to embarrass him last week with a leaked recording. "We've been hacking them for years, if this is hacking," Jason Nathanson, a former producer for the Jon Ziegler show on KFI 640-AM in Los Angeles, said on the show Tuesday night. State Treasurer Phil Angelides' campaign manager acknowledged Tuesday that two staffers leaked a recording of the governor bantering in his office with his staff to the Los Angeles Times. The...
