MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle on Wednesday attributed strong markets to President Donald Trump's campaign promise of cutting regulations, which she said held up profitability during the Obama administration. "The markets are very very strong, " Ruhle said. "Why is that? Now across the board, we have low volatility. We have strong earnings. The market has been chugging along." Ruhle went on to question whether the Dow Jones Industrial Average's success can be attributed to Trump himself, saying there is a disconnect between the two. "But on the positive, what we do have now is a market that corporate America is...

As President of the United States, Donald Trump has an army of five personal chefs, ready and waiting to slave away in the kitchen to cater to his every dietary need. Instead, the POTUS’ favourite foods have been revealed – and it hasn’t left experts impressed. According to the Chicago Tribune, Trump eats “like a teenage boy”, indulging in fast food – he celebrated with a Big Mac and fries after he won the Republican presidential nomination - and knocking back cans of Diet Coke. By all accounts, he’s not a huge fan of breakfast, but if he does eat...

Reporters on Monday fell for a fake "White House" document that supposedly showed President Donald Trump making unusual demands of his Israeli hosts during his trip abroad. The Twitter account Rogue White House Senior Advisor on Friday shared what it claimed was Trump's demands ahead of a trip to Israel, including roughly a metric ton of sugary and non-kosher junk food. .. Some elements of the purported demands were obvious jokes. The demand that microwaves remain unplugged was a mocking reference to White House advisor Kellyanne Conway's bizarre comment that the appliance could be used for spying, and the request...

“Good” foods that were under-eaten include: nuts and seeds, seafood rich in omega-3 fats including salmon and sardines; fruits and vegetables; and whole grains. “Bad” foods or nutrients that were over-eaten include salt and salty foods; processed meats including bacon, bologna and hot dogs; red meat including steaks and hamburgers; and sugary drinks. The research is based on U.S. government data showing there were about 700,000 deaths in 2012 from heart disease, strokes and diabetes and on an analysis of national health surveys that asked participants about their eating habits. Most didn’t eat the recommended amounts of the foods studied....

The president was heading to his new flagship property in D.C., the Trump Hotel, for a private dinner at the BLT Steakhouse inside. Once the president arrived at the location, the reporter who was on assignment to cover him, Jordan Fabian of The Hill, was not let into the building and had to wait in the van outside for the remainder of the dinner, without a guest list or details of what was happening inside. Inside the restaurant, I was seated at a table that had booked hours earlier, directly next to where Trump would be dining. I made the...

Where’s the beef? Well, it made way for the pork. On Sunday afternoon in downtown Minneapolis, Twin Cities foodies celebrated the pig in all of its glory at Cochon555. The competition featured five chefs, who compete head-to-head creating dishes using a whole heritage breed pig. The focus is on fine dining. DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — An insatiable demand for bacon depleted frozen pork belly supplies in the U.S. to a record low level for December, but the pork industry is confident it can keep up with demand and avoid any serious shortages. Bottom line: A pound of bacon may cost a little more as winter wears on, but prices should stabilize by summer. The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported last week that pork bellies in cold storage fell to 17.7 million pounds last month, the lowest December inventory since records began in 1957. In comparison, more than 52.3 million pounds...

Call it the first sign of the aporkalypse: The nation could be facing a bacon shortage, with stocks of the salty strips at their lowest since 1957 due to a surge in demand (bacon ice cream, anyone?). Recent data from the USDA shows that 2016 inventory for frozen pork belly, which puts the B in your BLT, is down 35.6 million pounds from 2015 levels.

WASHINGTON (NEWS10) – The country’s bacon reserves are at the lowest level in half a century. The demand for bacon is outpacing the supply and pig farmers just can’t keep up with the world’s appetite for it. Right now, the U.S. inventory is 7.8 million pounds, the lowest since 1957. They’re not going to run out but expected to be paying more for bacon.

There was a bit of confusion when the tinfoil husk was peeled away, revealing two pucks of what appeared to be seared pork product. People were looking up from their tables, wondering what this was all about, what's going on over there. One guy even asked. "It's the bacon-wrapped burrito," I replied. My tablemates were quick to clarify: "You can get any of the burritos wrapped in bacon, for $1.50." (They failed to mention the Philly Cheese add-on, but that one is still shrouded in mystery.) Nobody knew about it yet, because this option is pretty new. I just found...

Months after being sued, a small Massachusetts town has agreed to let a local Islamic group build a cemetery that some neighbors opposed. Under a deal approved this week, the town of Dudley will permit the Islamic Society of Greater Worcester to buy a long-idle dairy farm and build a 6-acre cemetery at the site. In exchange, the group won’t seek to expand the burial ground for at least a decade and will drop a lawsuit it filed against the town in July. The society sued Dudley after a town zoning board denied plans for the cemetery in June, saying...

Piotr Czak-Zukowski, 28, and Mateusz Pawlikowski, 21, also threw rashers at the shoe rack of the Al-Rahman Mosque in Camden, and a piece landed inside a shoe. Why have one sexy model eating a burger when you can have three? Carl’s Jr.’s most recent ad campaign features lots of burgers, bacon, and babes. The fast food chain’s newest item is the Bacon 3-Way Burger. The only thing that sells better than bacon is sex, but the restaurant took that to another level with their Three-Way “Fantasy.” The provocative ad spot features former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Genevieve Morton, along with social media babes Emily Sears and Elena Belle. The women, clad only in white string bikinis, make grilling a greasy fast food burger actually look seductive. The...
