State officials say more than 524,000 absentee ballots have been requested in Ohio this year - an increase of 40,000 compared to the same period during the 2012 presidential election. Secretary of State Jon Husted (HYOO’-sted) says nearly 12,000 of the absentee ballot applications are from military and overseas voters. The rest are from in-state residents. Absentee ballot applications must be submitted by Nov. 5, the weekend before the Nov. 8 general election. Husted says voters should submit them as soon as possible

Minnesota's Supreme Court has dismissed a legal challenge by Democrats to have Donald Trump removed from the ballot. The state Democratic party filed the lawsuit late Thursday. Democratic officials argued that the state GOP party erred in how it sent in Trump's name for a spot in the ballot because Republicans hadn't properly chosen alternate electors.

Just days after his supporters and motorcade were attacked by protesters in Minneapolis at a GOP fundraiser, the Minnesota Republican party has not submitted the names of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and his vice presidential nominee Mike Pence to the secretary of state’s office for the November election, it was reported Wednesday night. A check of the sample ballot listed at the website for the Minnesota secretary of state shows the tickets of Democrat Farm-Labor Hillary Clinton, Libertarian Gary Johnson, Green Jill Stein, anti-Trumper Evan McMullin and others with Socialist, Marijuana and other parties–but no Donald Trump. A check...

If my theory about his candidacy is correct then this was the only state ballot that really mattered to him and his team. Mission accomplished. McMullin, running as an alternative to Donald Trump, filed the required 1,000 signatures on Monday to be on the ballot, Utah Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox’s office confirmed. “Petition filed. He will be on the ballot,” Mark Thomas, Cox’s director of Elections told POLITICO moments after members of McMullin’s campaign walked into his office to file. The deadline to file the signatures was Monday by 5 p.m. Mountain Time, 7 p.m. Easter

Donna from Staten Island, a caller on Tuesday's Sean Hannity Show, has provided Hannity.com with a pair of photos--one of the Democratic ballot and one of the GOP ballot--that perfectly illustrate the bizarre way the Pennsylvania GOP elects its delegates to the Republican National Convention. The photos were taken by Donna's sister, who is voting in Pennsylvania's 15th district. Take a look at the side-by-side comparison of the two ballots. On the left, you'll see the Democratic ballot. On the right, the GOP. Notice a difference?

Leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s name was left off Florida primary ballots according to reports relayed by Fox News’ Jennifer Eckhart on Twitter who said the local Fox affiliate has received “dozens of complaints.” Eckhart wrote the irregularities are in “Jupiter County” which does not exist. She probably meant the town of Jupiter or Palm Beach County where Jupiter is located. Palm Beach County is where Trump’s Florida base Mar-a-Lago is located.

A couple days ago we reported that team Kasich was facing a court challenge to their ballot access in Pennsylvania. Specifically, the plaintiff in the case alleged that Team Kasich failed to file the required 2,000 valid signatures to appear on the ballot in Pennsylvania. The Kasich campaign filed 2,184 signatures, but the plaintiff alleged that well over 184 of those signatures were invalid and/or fraudulent for a whole host of reasons.

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Court challenges seeking to knock Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz and John Kasich off the Pennsylvania primary ballot have been scheduled for hearings in March. The challenge to Kasich was filed by a Marco Rubio activist and will be heard March 9. It questions the signatures collected to get Kasich on the April 26 ballot. Two Cruz challenges will be heard March 10. One was filed by Carmon Elliott, a Pittsburgh Republican, who says Cruz isn't qualified to run for president because he was born in Canada. The other challenges the signatures collected to put Cruz on...

Many of us are carrying a burden of rejection and betrayal by the party we thought stood for strong Constitutional conservative values, Life, and family strength. For those of us who have voted, sacrificed, and worked for the GOP over decades, the disappointment with the National Party is deep. I have come to believe now, with recent passage of the Omnibus Bill sell out, that there is utterly no hope left for us left with the National Republican Party; and by default they no longer can be distinguished as a separate and viable opposition to the Democrat Party. In effect...

Dozens of countries around the world have allowed their citizens who happen to be abroad on Election Day to vote by absentee for decades. Practically speaking, absentee balloting is more necessary in a country like Israel, where elections are set three months in advance, than in the United States, where Americans know their presidential races will be held every four years in November. So why is absentee balloting for Israelis such a controversial issue, and why have governments promised it for years and never delivered? To answer the first question, it is important to understand the ethos of Israeli society....

“In the years since the Florida issue in the 2000 presidential election, there’s been increasing interest in how election officials get their jobs and how they do their jobs,” Chapin said. “Most recently, in the wake of a presidential commission report, there’s been a push to think a lot more broadly about the notion of professionalism or professionalization in the field of election administration.” A Connecticut official wants to require formal training for the state’s election administrators to try to avoid another election where voters have trouble casting their ballots. Denise Merrill, Connecticut’s secretary of state, pitched a plan in...

Mrs. Mosby and I were traveling through SC Southbound I-95 on 3 Nov, and encountered a huge VanHool brand new white charter tour bus- unmarked. It pulled into the Flying J truckstop in Florence,SC and disgorged about a 100 hispanics (from business experience and listening to them in the store-these were Mexican indios, and all were males). They all went into the store, purchased snacks, then got back aboard and it left, having fueled at the diesel truck pumps. While it was fueling, we went around and took down the GA license plate- tried to locate the driver and make...

Election officials in San Antonio, Texas are examining a disabled voting machine after it allegedly left Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott's name off of the ballot. Earlier on Tuesday, the machine was being utilized in Bexar County's First Chinese Baptist Church of San Antonio. Bexar County Election Administrator Jacque Callan told local media outlet KENS 5 that the machine was "experiencing issues." According to Callan, the machine has a counter which will allow election officials to determine exactly how many voters used it. At this point, there is no explanation as to how -- or why -- the glitch occurred.
