The campaign’s response to questions about Mr. Fetterman’s health is to point to a doctor’s note, released more than 14 weeks ago, which said ‘he should be able to campaign and serve in the U.S. Senate without a problem’ if he takes his medications and exercises. That’s not good enough. Mr. Fetterman is asking voters for a six-year contract without giving them enough information to make sound judgments about whether he’s up for such a demanding job. We have called for full disclosure of health records from candidates for federal office in both parties, including Donald Trump and Joe Biden,...

A hail of shrapnel from kamikaze drones ripped through the tent where off-duty Ukrainian border guards were sleeping near a crossing with Belarus, three hours north of Ukraine’s capital. Viktor Derevyanko woke to scalding pain, his body burning. Blood spilled from his hand as he tried to wipe his face. A piece of metal had traveled through his arm and stomach and into the muscle around his heart. “I couldn’t get my bearings,” said Derevyanko, the deputy head of the unit. “Only on the third explosion did I manage to fall out of bed and try to find at least...

Ammunition being stored in southern Russia near the border with Ukraine caught fire on Tuesday, the second such incident in a week, and a local official said high temperatures were to blame. Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Belgorod region, said people near the village of Timonovo were evacuated after the ammunition started to spontaneously combust. No one was injured, he said in a statement. Last week inhabitants of Timonovo and Soloti, 15 km (9 miles) from Ukraine, were evacuated after a nearby ammunition storage depot caught fire. It was not clear from Gladkov's comments whether Tuesday's blaze had taken place...

Russian spies are refusing to move to occupied parts of Ukraine, FSB insider says Even salaries six or eight times the usual amount cannot entice reluctant agents Some are hiding behind medical certificates signed by compliant doctors Retirees are now being called on, but just three of 200 'said they would consider' Vladimir Putin's secret services agents are refusing to work in Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine, an FSB 'insider' has claimed. Even salaries six to eight times higher than usual are failing to persuade counter-intelligence officers to move to conquered areas, the alleged source said. Putin urgently needs both regular...

Russia is facing “economic oblivion” in the long term because of international sanctions and the flight of businesses, several economists have said. ... However, many economists see long-lasting costs to the Russian economy from the exit of foreign firms – which will hit production capacity and capital and result in a “brain drain” – along with the loss of its long-term oil and gas markets and diminished access to critical imports of technology and inputs.

Poland's intelligence services say they have identified camps where thousands of Ukrainian children have been held and adults brutally beaten by invading Russian forces. Special Services minster Stanislaw Zaryn said on Wednesday that over 1.5 million Ukrainians including 'thousands of children' were being held in various locations inside occupied territory where 'Ukrainians are sent en masse' and 'subjected to torture'. Zaryn continued: 'The aggressors carry out a verification of the detained, looking for people with combat experience and officials of the Ukrainian administration. 'They also study the attitudes of specific people towards Russia. 'Those who do not raise any objections...

At the start of the year, Russia dispatched more than 2,000 troops to its longtime ally Kazakhstan to help put down violent antigovernment unrest. Six weeks later, when Russian troops stormed into Ukraine, Kazakhstan had an opportunity to repay the favor by supporting the invasion. It didn’t.

Putin's blundering forces have shot down their own helicopter in Ukraine after it mistakenly started firing at its own troops. The Ka-52 'Alligator' helicopter, which costs an estimated £12million, was gunned down in Kherson, Ukraine's General Staff revealed. The military bosses joked it was a 'gesture of goodwill' from the invading forces. They reported that three of the helicopters were flown over the occupied region and started to shoot at the Russian troops stationed below. They returned fire and shot down one of the choppers in what is just the latest embarrassing blow for Putin's men. Video of the wreck...

On July 26, the Russian occupiers shelled their own positions with friendly fire, and then destroyed their own Ka-52 helicopter. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports. "Gesture of goodwill" from the occupiers. Yesterday, three Russian Ka-52s in the Kherson region intended to attack our units, but... struck their own. Returning, the occupiers' helicopters came under the "friendly" fire of the frightened air defense calculations of the Russian troops. Russian air defense has never been distinguished by accuracy, so the invaders shot down only one of their Ka-52 strike out of three....

‘A DISTINCT TURNING POINT’: In Ukraine, the signs of a subtle battlefield shift are everywhere as President Volodymyr Zelensky announces the beginning of a counteroffensive in the south and Pentagon officials make plans to continue the flow of weapons for months to come. “We are there for Ukraine for the long haul,” said a senior defense official in the latest Pentagon briefing, who described the Russian advances as stymied by effective Ukrainian tactics and newly arrived HIMARS precision rocket systems, which have forced Russian forces to dig in and hide high-value targets. “They're paying a high price for every inch...

Judicial Watch today released two sets of heavily redacted State Department documents, 38 pages and 48 pages, showing classified information was researched and disseminated to multiple U.S. Senators by the Obama administration immediately prior to President Donald Trump’s inauguration. The documents reveal that among those receiving the classified documents were Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD), and Sen. Robert Corker (R-TN). Judicial Watch obtained the documents through a June 2018 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against the State Department after it failed to respond to a February 2018 request seeking records of the Obama State Department’s...

Most of our snow, along with the neighbors from San Diego, has melted away. They didn't actually melt. It was more like they ran screaming back to warmth and Palm trees. Us hardier and poorer types look forward to the snow. We have to. It's all around us. We have had warm winds blowing in from Canada the last couple of days. We call these "Chinook" winds. The Canadians call it "Blowing all the tumbleweeds South". I like our name better. The Canadians have a lot of strange names for things. They call a hat a "Took". They call beating...

"If you ask Stalin and the Red Army to help you defeat the Nazis, you will still have to face the Red Army one day – not as your ally – but as your enemy" --Randall Terry.Dear Pro-life Friend: I bring two critical issues to your attention: the election of Scott Brown, and an upcoming "Virtual March" [see comment below, or click on video image]. I begin with Scott Brown. I - like many other political activists – am enjoying the moment of “Ted Kennedy’s seat” going to a Republican. The problem is that Scott Brown supports Roe vs. Wade....

You won’t see TV Glenn Beck touch the things that Radio Glenn Beck sometimes says, as he edges toward Howard Stern levels of comedy and tone. Today he absolutely obliterated Scott Brown over the ‘my daughters are available’ comment, going so far as to suggest Brown could be a secret pervert. Brown got over-excited and particularly creepy when he declared his daughters “available” during an improvised portion of his victory speech tonight. It was awkward – and it wasn’t immediately cleaned up. “Bad enough,” said Beck after he played the initial comment. “Hey my two daughters on the meat market!”...

Parallel universes really do exist, according to a mathematical discovery by Oxford scientists described by one expert as "one of the most important developments in the history of science". The parallel universe theory, first proposed in 1950 by the US physicist Hugh Everett, helps explain mysteries of quantum mechanics that have baffled scientists for decades, it is claimed. In Everett's "many worlds" universe, every time a new physical possibility is explored, the universe splits. Given a number of possible alternative outcomes, each one is played out - in its own universe. A motorist who has a near miss, for instance,...

Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal has an angelic face, an odd name – and not much else. (Her most memorable role to date was playing a masochist in the movie, "The Secretary.") But Gyllenhaal knows how to get the attention of the Hollywood establishment: just bash America. Tell the world how conscience compels you to trash your country. Make vague allegations about the awful things America has done and how we brought terrorism on ourselves. All the while, congratulate yourself for your honesty and nobility in taking such a courageous stand. The actress, who appears in "The Great New Wonderful Thing" (about...

The Ownership Society By DAVID BROOKS ot long ago, a man who runs a construction company came to the White House to meet with a senior Bush administration official. He talked economic policy, then was asked how his business was going. He said things were going well. Orders were up. He'd revamped his I.T. system, and he'd re-engineered his production process so he'd been able to reduce his work force to 7,200 from 9,800. You can imagine the reaction as he dribbled out this final bit of good news. For here in a nutshell is the administration's problem. The...
