The EEOC ignored that judicial thrashing and pressed on. Last April, the agency unveiled its "Enforcement Guidance on the Consideration of arrest and Conviction Records in Employment Decisions," declaring that "criminal record exclusions have a disparate impact based on race and national origin."

In other words, inside the Beltway, if the dollar numbers associated with shenanigans are big enough, they don’t call it a “crime,” they simply call it “policy.” That is, past a certain point, the money amounts are so huge that the whole system is implicated in the corruption. And nobody in DC wants to see that, lest the taxpayers out in flyover country start to wonder if there’s something systemically wrong with Washington. And so, through the power of spin, and with the complicity of the MSM, massively awful actions--the bank bailouts being the most spectacular example--are declared to be...

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo has been a consistent supporter of legalizing same-sex marriage. In 2011, he filmed his own video backing this November’s ballot initiative in Maryland and posted it on YouTube, and he recently donated Ravens tickets to a Marylanders for Marriage Equality fund-raiser.

President Obama promotes the myth that everyone must go to college. That if you don't go, your life will be ruined -- that you will end up waiting tables, or trapped in some other mundane occupation. The truth is, even with a college degree, you may still end up waiting tables, you'll just begin your "career" four or five years later, tens of thousands of dollars in debt. Here is an example of some of the plumb jobs college grads were able to land during the Obama administration. Not just liberal arts majors mind you, but graduates with degrees in...

Suppose Romney wins, Obamacare is repealed...What will they arrange in the meantime? Is it possible for health insurance to be similar in dynamics to auto insurance? Multiple companies compete across state lines to win my business with the lowest possible premiums with a plethora of program choices? It's what I want. I want choices and power to choose. Can they possibly inject competition into the health insurance industry?

Terri Schiavo's estranged husband Michael wasted no time in pursuing what was left of Terri's estate after she passed away on March 31. The disabled woman died after suffering from a painful 13 day starvation and dehydration. Terri died just after 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the 31st and court papers filed with Circuit Court Judge George Greer show Michael's attorneys filed the estate request just hours later. By 1:35 p.m., Greer had ruled in Michael's favor to receive Terri's estate.

"Miss Centonze loves her fiancé very much," said her lawyer, "but I'm sure she's not the only person in this country who would not want to give him power of attorney should she ever become incapacitated and be on a feeding tube."

The Terri Schiavo Case Schiavo's case lands in Congress Republicans in Congress are working on bills to prevent the removal of Terri Schiavo's feeding tube. By ANITA KUMAR, Times Staff Writer Published March 11, 2005

Monday, March 07, 2005 Lawyers for Bob and Mary Schindler argued their daughter Terri Schiavo (search), 41, should be fed by hand once her feeding tube is removed March 18 — a motion on which Judge George Greer did not immediately rule. However, Greer turned down other family requests, such as letting the media see her in her nursing home bed, and that she be allowed to die at the Schindler family home. He also refused to intervene in Michael Schiavo's plans to have his wife cremated and her ashes returned to Pennsylvania, where she was born and spent most...

This is the most critical forward you will ever send! On March 18th, Terri Schiavo , a 41 year old disabled woman will die. She will have her feeding tube removed and she will slowly starve to death. The only crime Terri Schiavo has committed is that of being unable to swallow. She can breath, hear, and react to stimulation. Her parents have heroically fought for years to save their daughter but Terri's husband, after receiving a 1.25 million dollar court settlement for her treatment, is determined to put Terri to death. She is alive today only because the undying...

Public divided on keeping brain-damaged woman alive Associated Press TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Six months after Gov. Jeb Bush and the Legislature stepped into the case, Floridians are split over decisions by lawmakers to keep Terri Schiavo alive, a new poll shows. Forty-one percent of likely Florida voters say they approve of the decision in October to reinsert the severely brain-damaged woman's feeding tube, while an equal number say it was wrong. Another 18 percent were uncertain. The poll, conducted for several Florida newspapers and broadcasters by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc., also shows Bush's approval rating holding steady at 54...

CLEARWATER - Terri Schiavo returned to her assisted living home Tuesday after a hurried round of hospital tests were conducted to determine the cause of five puncture marks found on her arms. A toxicology test came back negative, meaning there's no evidence that Schiavo, 40, was secretly injected with a foreign substance. Clearwater police "have found no evidence of a crime and no evidence of an attempted crime," said spokesman Wayne Shelor. And Schiavo's personal doctor, summoned to her bed in the assisted living facility Monday night, said Tuesday that he's not "100 percent sure" the marks were even made...

Driven by the meddlesome right wing of the Republican Party, the Florida Legislature has almost talked its way out of a job. Since Gov. Jeb Bush arrived in town six years ago promoting empty-building government and giving away fundamental government responsibilities to private companies, lawmakers devote themselves to variations of proselytizing. This is offensive to those of us who devoutly believe that higher life forms don't need to be nagged, reminded or browbeaten. But it also diminishes their jobs as as government's board of directors, policy-makers and problem solvers. As a class, lawmakers in recent years seem to have lost...

Mercy in Florida? Will new court rulings in Florida help save Terri Schiavo's life? Or is "The Rule of Terri's Case" here to stay? by Wesley J. Smith 02/17/2004 12:00:00 AM Increase Font Size Printer-Friendly Email a Friend Respond to this article "THE DAMNDEST THING JUST HAPPENED," an early morning caller who is close to the Schiavo case enthused on my voice mail. "The Second District Court of Appeal actually decided to start applying the law." That would be big news. One of the most outrageous aspects of the Terri Schiavo debacle has been the almost universal adherence by the...

Posted on Wed, Oct. 29, 2003 Both sides in Schiavo fight point to control of money A fund set up for his wife's care is down to $50,000, Michael Schiavo said on CNN. By Chris Gray Inquirer Staff Writer PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Both Michael Schiavo and his in-laws, Bob and Mary Schindler, say the fight over Terri Schiavo revolves around the control of money. In 1993, Michael Schiavo received approximately $1.1 million in a medical malpractice suit after doctors were found negligent for failing to diagnose a chemical imbalance in Terri Schiavo, his wife. The bulk of the award,...
