  • Senate Democrats Scramble to Win GOP Support for Auto Rescue Bill (Republican spine finally?)

The Big 3 management teams must go as well as the management of the unions. Together their greed and short-sightedness have put the big three in this position. Giving them bailout money only prolongs the inevitable. Bankruptcy and consolidation. Sorry but the greed of everyone has put this industry in the position that it is in. I won’t lose any sleep.

A perfect example of why this party is in such disarray. Too many egotistical windbags who can't see the writing on the wall until they lose their next election bid. Then they reappear telling us how we need to move more to the center to win. Keep getting rid of the rubbage and we will rebuild from the ground up with with good principled conservative values that can be articulated with conviction which Sarah Palin will be able to do without a problem. She really believes them, you can see it in how she speaks, they are more than just words, they are the principles in which she lives her life and apparently in how she governs. Time will tell

Television News in general is so over saturated; that even fair minded individuals are looking for that sound bite to be shared, debated, ridiculed, etc. amongst all the television pundits. It’s all a grab for ratings, and at this point it seems anything will go. I’ve gotten tired of it all and turned the TV off. I can get everything I need to know from talk radio and the internet. Just wondering how long that will last with the Fairness Doctrine looming in the background.

Having totally immersed myself over the last week reading everything possible regarding our party, I’ve come to the conclusion that our “so-called” leaders don’t have a clue what to do. Unless someone emerges real soon; I don’t see us being able to do a thing to stop the Democratic Liberal Agenda. Sarah displayed the potential to unite us, but has been thrown under the bus by everyone possible; I’m not sure if she has the will or ability to come back again.

Damn the economy -— full spending ahead..
I never realized how active the Office of the President Elect was. I promised myself that I would respect the Office of the President. But constantly seeing this guys face on TV as “President Elect: and him demanding his stimulus spending package is enough. I’ve had it.
We have seen your face on Television every day for the past two years. You ran a great campaign and won the election “hands down” Please, give us all a break, take some time off, enjoy your children, you’ve got us on information overload. Give it a rest, your ego is getting the best of you.

Dittos on W. I didn’t agree on all his policies, but he certainly should not be treated the way he has. It still amazes me that the party of tolerance could be so hateful.
    W will be missed.

Looking for my local office where I can sign up to serve America, as part of the new Presidents Volunteer Program.
As I travel to the local office, (via bicycle of course)I decie to perform my Patriotic Duty and hand out all the money I have in my wallet, its nice sharing the wealth.
I continue on to my local America serves volunteer office, but I develop a flat in one of my tires, since I have recently shared all of my wealth I have no money left for repairs.
Oh well no harm done, I need the exercise anyway-have to stay in shape so I can do my share.
As I turn the corner I am jumped and held at knife point by two young individuals; (I assume they are doing the jobs Americans no longer want to do)they want all my money. I apologize to them and explain that I just recently did my Patriotic duty and shared the wealth with other great Americans who were not as fortunate as me. They kicked the living crap out of me. I felt sorry for them, it must have something to do with the economy-afterall this is the worst economy since the “Great Depression”
I stumbled into the Volunteer office, as I looked around the large room, I was overwhelmed with the feeling of true Patriotism.I was finally home, with people who wanted to make a difference just like me. I never felt so proud. Here we were the Civilian Army, ready and willing to volunter to serve for a greater cause. I was so excited wondering if we would get T-Shirts stating, “Civilian Army-Proud to Serve”..or maybe something real cool like a baseball cap; with a logo- CPI Civilian Police Investigaors; its not CSI, but it’s close. As Civilina Police we could patrole the wealthy suburbs and do investigative studies to ensure these rich people who are making over $250K are indeed paying their fair share.
Perhaps if I was really lucky, I could get a badge and work undercover in the DAP group. The word on the street was that this volunteer position was equivalent to our International Military Team’s Green Beret’s. Yes, as part of Barney Franks military cutbacks our US Military was purchased by Canada and renamed The International Military Team; the name change also allows for a kinder, gentler, military.
The extreme importance of the succes of the DAP team meant that they were only accepting the “best” volunteers. You had to be willing to give it all for this team. Afterall, the success of the team was priority 1. If the team was not successful our whole message of change would not be successful. I heard the covert team even had a motto; Yes We Can. How’s that for undercover motivation, take that Stephen Covey; who needs 7 Habits when we have those 3 motivating words.
I finally reached another happy volunteer who was taking our information on where and what we wanted to volunteer in. I was slighty amazed at the sofisticated computer software database that this volunteer group had..It looked like a combination of a financial history database combined with a civil informational database. I was impressed with the organization of this volunteer group.
When all my information was input into the database I was ready to go. My friendly volunteer behind the table asked what I was interested in. I was going to start small but in the spirit of giving I decided to make the total comittment. I asked if I could volunteer my time and energy with the DAP team. The gentlemen behind the table smiled and asked if I could make the total comittment and do anything for the team. As the rush of emotions ran through my body, I felt like I was going to burst; I never thought volunteering would make me feel this good..I answered him by saying, “Yes I Can”. He smiled, shook my hand, and handed me my badge. I was part of the DAP team now, and my badge number was 2012. I was never so proud. The smiling volunteer pointed to a large set of double doors near the back of the room, he stated, you will be briefed through those double doors. As I slowly made my way over to the double doors, I noticed a large banner stretched across the top of the doors. It read, Democrats Against Palin 2012.” I didn’t understand, is this what DAP was? All I was looking for was change, and then it hit me, this must be the Right Wing Conspiracy Hillary warned us about before we stomped her and through her under the bus..It was real, that’s the only explanation, but how did they do it, how could the Right Wing infiltrate something as patriotic as volunteering? As I walked into the room, standing at the podium was the answer, there in the flesh, ready to speak to us, Carl Rove - that’s how they did it, damn Carl Rove.

The Republican leadership brings her into the spot light at the 23rd hour. Maybe she made mistakes maybe she didn’t. At this point in time I haven’t seen one accusation that can be verified.
In my opinion she did a good job of motivating the base. Let’s face it, many of us were only supporting McCain with Lukewarm enthusiasim.
Now that its all done, everyone is throwing daggers at her. Whether you support Sarah or not, as a Republican aren’t you wondering why there isn’t anyone coming out to defend her. Currently, I think the only person giving Sarah a chance is Gretta for FOX.
Where is our party leadership? Do we have any party unity at all anymore? Throwing someone under the bus is one thing, I don’t think she even qualifies as road kill anymore. One final question, are the good ole boys that are left in our party really that frightened of Sarah Palin?

They have Sarah buried, now its just time to keep throwing dirt on top of the coffin. They want to be 110% sure she has absolutely no chance of resurfacing in the future. As is typical with our Republican leadership their silence is deafening.
I can only assume being taken to the woodshed by Obama, and continued erosion in the House and Senate hasn’t reached a low point yet.
Hello Republican Leadership...Hello is anyone out there? or are you all in a back room somewhere looking to sell someone else out.,I don’t know what it is going to take,.

Wow, it must be in our nature to keep falling on our swords no matter what the cost. Yes, we may have had a hand in the demise of conservatism over the last 28 years, but there is plenty of blame to go around.
The last two years there was a Democratic controlled Congress that had there own agenda. We had the ability to fight them, but apparently not the guts. Don’t forget the eight years of the infamous Clinton administration. He tried to push the agenda to the left and that immediately gave us Newt and Company.
Yes, we certainly could have done much better with the opportunities that were given to us, but let’s not totally destroy ourselves by falling on the sword. Rather, let’s take this opportunity to clean house and prioritize what the principles for this party should be as we start the 21st centure.

Believe me, I feel I have a good picture of our enemy. I am aware of the lead pipe, and aware that many people want to fight them with white gloves. I too, believe this is a continuous war on ideas, principles, beliefs, However, we just fought a battle within this continuous war and we got our ass kicked.
We can beat them with our ideas, principles, and values. For God sakes we certainly have the damn Army out in the trenches. We have all been fighting these battles for years now. What do they have to put up against our beliefs; nothing but emotions. Do you realize this guy campaigned for over two years just talking about change. If we can't organize and beat that, that's sad.

Let me provide a quick preface that my leanings are almost always to the right. One of the greatest things this country does; is the transfer of power from the out-going President to the in-coming President. Even during the bitter election of 2000, when the outcome was determined; the transfer of power was performed without incident. Once the President Elect takes the oath and is sworn it, I too, will treat the office with the utmost respect. However, as part of our civil duties, when issues come up that are against my values, principles, we will engage all parties to persuade others to see our point of view, position, belief, etc. Opposing other points of view is not grid-lock, or being mean spirited. It is the debate of different beliefs, principles, points of view, and it shoud be high spirited as many of the values are personal to each individual. We challenged our own President, when we felt his ideas were contrary to our positions. I think this type of exchange of ideas is Bengali's to all those who participate.
So my fellow brothers and sisters in conservative ideas, I too, have chosen to take the higher moral option when it comes to our opponents. Believe me, there are times I would like to get down and dirty, but I think back to the 2000 election, the shrillness, hatred, and total lack of respect for the Office of the President of the United States. As conservatives, we tend to possess a moral compass that draws a certain line that just cannot be crossed.
We look forward to debates, exchange of ideas, and doing what's best for the citizens of this great country. Democrats you now control Congress and the White House. Use your power wisely as we will be here holding your feet to the fire. I truly hope that what you all saw in your President-Elect allows him to truly govern for the people. I'm still looking but I don't see it, that makes me skeptical, and very Larry of the power entrusted to all of you. We are not going anywhere; we will reorganize, look for new leaders for our party, and constantly keep a watchful eye on all of you.
Joe - Congratulations and kudos for bringing some reality to this National Script. Until you asked that question, there was little to no deviation from that script. Personally, I don't think that is a good thing, we should have the ability to ask questions, raise issues, demand answers, without any fear of what you went through. That should not happen in this great country. I admire your resolve keeping focused while all this was whirling about, and it appears positive things have come from it. Wherever the forum is: public space, your frontyard, the internet, We the People retain the Power entrusted to us by our foundng fathers as written in our Constitution.
