  • Video: Perry’s cringe-worthiest debate moment

Perry did awful last night, a real stink bomb, the Fred Thompson of 2012, once Sarah gets in the guy will be a distant 3rd or forth. When they coined the cliche “All hat and no cattle” they must have had Rick Perry in mind. I admire and appreciate his service to our country but he is a CINO because RINO today is not such a bad thing with the Pubbies even entertaining guys like Romney or Huntsman. I bet a dime to a dozen donut’s Mittens jumps out to the lead and Newt and Cain move up and Perry drifting away. Perry’s stumbling and bumbling would be ok if he was nervous but had good ideas, but to be a mumbler and have lousy ideas on immigration is a killer. He gets no bozo buttons from me for his stance on SS, so what not all that original a position or idea to articulate. This field is an adequate bunch of VPs sans Paul, Johnson, Huntsman and Mittens, Sarah is the one to lead the revolution.

  • 2012 Presidential Matchups Obama 46%, Perry 39% (Rasmussen)

Well add the numbers up 46+39 = 85. Take out 1% for some kook third party candidates and you have 14% undecided. Which to quote Dick Morris, being undecided about a sitting President is like asking if in a year you will be undecided about your wife. Which means, almost all the undecideds break for the challenger. So like Mark Twain said you have damn lies and statistics, this is a bad poll for Obama and simply shows what we all know, his ceiling right now it 43-46% give or take. No betting man with a brain would take Obama against Romney, Perry or Palin. Rassmussen is hard one to figure, he is cagey about his sampling techniques and gets very defensive about it when asked. He does come from a New England family with a little money(they started ESPN) and is a pretty devout Methodist so on the surface he is not a flaming liberal douchebag, but not what I would call an objective or right leaning pollster. If I had to peg him, he is a Gerald Ford country clubbber and his polling reflects that. Take a mix of polls right now, declared voters are showing Obama tied with almost all the challengers, extrapolate the undecideds breaking like they will, Obama is toast.

Yes but our current system allows for rampant voter fraud in urban areas and allows more of a mob rule than an apportion type strategy. I don't think “Well I don't know but I am sure the Democrats will find a way to use this against us” is a valid counterpoint and the legislators in my state agree. The larger states with urban areas should adopt this strategy, it's actually more in line with what the founders had envisioned than a winner take all deal. Rural counties votes count as much as the urban area. Candidates would have to appeal to ALL Americans not just to urban interests like mass transit, large public works projects, etc. It is a superior idea whose time has come.

Funny read the comments, Drone Central there and more smack talking...”Obama will win next year, you'll see”. Conveniently after 18 comments of semi-literate gibberish CNN does not allow any more. Seems to be the meme with the hardcore Obama drones..nothing wrong here, just move along, everyone still loves Barak. I love it, let them wander around in a September 2008 daze, after Obama gets wiped out 1980 style that will wake them up. I guess in Austin, Berkeley, Boston and Manhattan stupid is still in.

I don't see besides some obtuse argument about balance of power argument as a valid when it comes to elector apportionment. The Constitution is clear that the states set how they send their electors. On balance this is a big win for the Pubbies if all the states adopted it. Of all the beefy electoral college states we would pick up way more than we would give by losing in states like Texas and Florida. It's actually the perfect solution to the popular vote\mob rules nonsense talk. I saw an article about this if this was adopted in 2008 , McCain would have won the election. The way this could be perfected is not a simply apportionment by population but by CDs won. That way the cities could not overpower the small CDs. I think this is what actual the PA legislature is talking about.

OMG are the Obamabots this dumb, this is beyond spin. This is like saying you got jumped, got the hell beaten out of you and afterwards claimed..”Wow that was a helluva workout”. What happened is Obaama found out all the real clever humor and satire is on the right not with that hateful snark Jon Liebowitz.

Well I suspect Obama’s rhetoric will go into hyperdrive the next few weeks, a full on assualt to get Congress to cave and pass his jobs bill. Question is can Boehner hold firm and remain the adult in the room as Axelrod and Jarrett create a false panic in the MSM. Right now besides what rigged polls say Obama IS getting the blame for the economy and majority are making the connection that high taxes and high regualtion means crappy economy, no all but enough to show him the door in 2012.

I like it, Obama would win maybe 3 counties in the East(Chester, Bucks and Montgomery) and Allegheny in the West. My guess is of the 21 votes 15+ would goto whomever Pubbie. This would change back swiftly if the Dems take control of the statehouse and governorship, they hate this setup.

This is a wake up call for the GOP, every state including Ma, Ca and NY is in play, force Obama to defend all of them. This has to send shivers down Obama’s spine. I think it's a realistic possibility that one of the big 4 Obama loses, Ill, NY, Ca Ma

He does seem to have many warts, over and above the obscure policy decision or past comment or peccadillo. Rick Perry does not appear to have the conservative bona fides necessary to elevate him into the pantheon of Reagan. Perry maybe a good husband, father and Christian, that I cannot judge him on, but I can judge him on his positions and decisions while he was in office. What's past is prologue and not to wander into hopeless clicheland but he does sound like GWBII. I make no bones that I am a Sarah Palin fan, she DOES have the bona fides and has lived her life and made decisions I think eveyone here on FR could agree and be proud of. Ronald Reagan is smiling down from heaven cause he knows a strong woman from Wasilla is coming.

IMO, she was being dishonest when she said that she knew something was wrong with Perry/Gardisal when Palin was still governor of Alaska. Either that, or she was being dishonest when she campaigned for him last year, and “crony capitalism” wasn't a concern of hers.

Well I am not Sarah Palin, do not live in Alaska and do not know her motivations behind her supporting or not supporting Perry. Not to be argumentative but what she did does not reek of dishonesty, she told no falsehood or withheld any information. Bottom line here despite what Sarah Palin thinks is Perry supported a position with is anathema to Conservatism, regardless of how he spins, spun, or denies it. It is kinda a big deal, I contend bigger than his position on illegal immigration. It was a was a shining example of the intrusive nanny state busybody-ism we are plagued with. The vaccine is of questionable efficacy, has serious side effects even Rick Perry would agree it was not a communicable disease threat, the level that pre pubescent girls just needed to get it. This is Perry's RomneyCare circle a square issue and I think this is one of a a few paper cuts he will die from in the primaries.

Fox News pays Palin $1 million/year to draw ratings to their network. She sold herself out to FoxNews, that fact can’t be denied, but she seems to be doing her job well. She’s a paid member of the media, and people need to remember that her job is to say controversial things that draw viewers to the network.

Well to be fair she is not a journalist on Foxnews she is a paid contributor. A distinction with a difference, she is paid for her unvarnished opinions. Sarah Palin could be called many things but devious and dishonest are not her signature character traits. I have over the last few weeks had a chance to vette Rick Perry and he just is not up to snuff. The Al Gore thing, the vaccine thing, the illegal immigration issue, sorry but on the continuum he is more towards Gerald Ford than Ronald Reagan. Would I choose him over Obama, sure, but right now with SP ready to get in that is a false choice.

“I would bet dollars to donuts that she and Gov. Perry have already spoken and each understands and respects the others’ position. Make no mistake about it, Gov. Palin and Gov. Perry like and admire each other.” This would be the ideal scenario, and I would prefer it over the alternative. At this point there’s no way of knowing. It does seem plausible that Perry could be vp on a Palin ticket.

I saw the interview and the way I read and the interview transcript will bear this out , Palin basically called Perry a crook, that he pushed the immunization issue because a former staffer was now employed at Merck and it was a Old Boys Club type deal. A fairly scurrilous charge and meant to attack ones character. I think Palin is setting the stage perfectly for her coming in. She is not playing Marcus of Queensbury rules and I admire her for it. Sorry Perry\Mitts supporters are being driven crazy by playing coy, but she is being crazy like a fox here. She will get in when she is good and ready and some of you will see the brilliance in it. Reagan would be proud, Perry right now has to be flumuxxed, Sarah is chopping down her rivals like Rocky in Rocky IV.

Well listening to Palin on Greta last night, there is no doubt she is getting in. She let Perry have it in no uncertain terms. She accused him of bascially being a crook and supporting mandating the HPV vaccine because one of his campaign staff was an executive at the drug company making it. That is calling Perry a slimey toad, I don't know how else you could take that. At the least I can't see how she could support him now or offer an endorsement.

Krugman’s article reeked of desperation. It’s apparent his hero Obama looks to be going down next year and it’s even more apparent we can finally bury the fallacy of Keynesian economics. On a purely superficial basis, Paul Krugman..really, this is to be the messaging by the DemonCrat Intelligentsia, he reeks of rumpled, academic, communista out of touch, from the salt and pepper beard with yesterday’s lunch in it to his beady eyes. I think he needs a literary persona, like Spengler, because I am sure beyond Berkley, Manhattan and New Haven the face of Paul Krugman elicits the gag reflex. Kinda fits in Michael Savage’s ugly man theory on why sexual denied men grow up to be angry liberals, they become homosexuals or become Paul Krugman.

So the Democrats whole game-plan here is to have Obama try and bully Congress for more money and try and avoid any discussion about the waste , fraud and abuse that gobbled up 95% of the last trillion dollar stimulus. But then again the liberal meme is always ..”Just do something”. I agree with some of the sentiment here, parse out Obama’s wish list and bundle what is passable and throw out the junk like the infrastructure spending and tax increases, pass it on to the Senate. Obama will demagogue anyways, no matter what they do. It’s always about him.

Still feel the bevy of candidates could not hold Sarah’s pantyhose(women still wear that) up. She is light years ahead of the current field in terms of charisma, charm, gravitas and experience dealing with the MSM on a national level. I really hope she gets in, the current field is Ok but we can do better. She is the most Reagan-like.
