CHANDLER, AZ – A 21-year-old man is in custody for allegedly throwing his girlfriend's 2-year-old girl onto concrete ground, critically injuring the child. Police said Jeremiahs Aguilar admitted to police that he threw the toddler because she wouldn't stop crying. On Saturday, Josepha Talavara, 20, allegedly called 9-1-1 and said her daughter was unresponsive. Police responded to her home near Chandler Boulevard and Fresno Street where they discovered the child in critical condition. TALLAHASSEE -- State Sen. Jim King, a Jacksonville Republican and 22-year veteran of the Legislature, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the lawmaker's longtime spokeswoman said Saturday. “During a recent routine post-legislative session checkup, Senator Jim King was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. While Senator King plans to seek additional medical counsel and aggressive treatment, he is aware that this particular type of cancer is difficult to treat and manage, and that the outcomes are, at best, guarded," said Sarah Bascom, a political consultant and longtime spokeswoman for King, in a statement.

Massive explosions rocked the Sunoco refinery in the Marcus Hook area tonight, sending flames shooting into the night and sounding alarms in three states. The actual explosions were in Delaware but close to the Pennsylvania border. Some officials were reporting that the chemicals in the explosion could waft into South Jersey. The mother of an infant in critical condition is speaking with Action News about her heartbreak and the allegations against her live-in girlfriend. That girlfriend - now suspect, Blair Hobson, was booked into CCDC on a charge of child abuse with substantial bodily harm. The arrest report says she bounced the baby's rocker "hard enough for his head to make contact with the floor". The case of a 13-year-old Arizona girl strip-searched by school officials looking for ibuprofen pain-reliever will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court this week. The justices in January accepted the Safford school district case for review, and will decide whether a campus setting gives school administrators greater discretion to control students suspected of illegal activity than police are allowed in cases involving adults in general public spaces. New Jersey state, local and county police have abused a two-year-old directive that empowers them to question suspects in serious crimes about their immigration status, according to a study due out today. The findings, contained in a report by the Seton Hall University School of Law, conclude that police exceed their authority by questioning individuals involved in even minor infractions. State Attorney General Anne Milgram issued the directive to determine the immigration status of suspects in major crimes in August 2007 following the execution-style slaying of three students in a Newark schoolyard. The parents of an 18-year-old Ohio man who suffered a brain injury while snowboarding claim in a lawsuit that doctors at a northwestern Pennsylvania hospital intentionally killed him so they could harvest his organs. The lawsuit claims that Hamot Medical Center doctors and a representative of the Center For Organ Recovery and Education caused Gregory Jacobs' death by administering medication and by removing his breathing tube, causing him to suffocate. Dunwoody is ascending to a peak never before reached by a woman in the U.S. military: four-star general. At a Pentagon promotion ceremony Friday, Dunwoody was adding a fourth star and later, at Fort Belvoir, Va., — her birthplace — being sworn in as commander of the Army Materiel Command, responsible for equipping, outfitting and arming all soldiers. Delaware State Police investigators report the driver of the Honda, Matthew Wilson, 23, died Tuesday night because of his injuries.
