A 6-year-old boy was killed in a tragic accident involving a wood chipper on Brookside Drive in Salem. Jeffrey Bourgeois, 6, was helping his father clear brush in the yard on Tuesday morning when his arm got stuck in the wood chipper, state police said. The father owns a tree removal service and brought his three children to a client's house, where he was performing tree work. "The youngest child attempted to help his father and when his father's back was turned, he picked a branch up and fed it into the chipper when he was pulled into the chipper,"...

Gretchen, bless her pea pickin' heart. I'm sure her momma loves her. She needs to find a job on CNN Morning or somewhere else her positive views on the wealth tax would be better received. This is re her segment with Stuart Varney just now.

I just heard Gretchen reply to Steve regarding his opinion that since OBL didn't live a typical Muslim life, he doesn't deserve a Muslim burial. The blond braniac said, "well, some Christians don't live typical Christian lives and they still get to go to Heaven!". She was quite exercised by this. I think I'm now out of options for morning TV except for the local news.

Forgive the vanity post. I considered a few articles and may post a link, but I didn't find anything that really got to the nub of it. Glenn lately has been peddling nonsense about American Indians being linked to ancient Hebrews. He's given credibility to the Bat Creek Stone which deserves none. He's speculating on the numerological similarities of Mounds in Ohio with Egyptian pyramids. He's gone completely off the rails on the subject and it's a not so subtle effort to proselytize his Mormonism. What really stinks, is he's such a good cheerleader for responsible government, and his broadcasts...

I was watching The Stand the other night, and was struck by the whole bent of the story. It's not a great movie, but I think it's a pretty damn good tale. And it's pretty clear that it's a Biblical ode to the struggle between good and evil. My premise is, would this movie be made the same way today? It was only 1994 when this was filmed, and they were singing the National Anthem and praising God. Was it such a short time ago when it was OK to do these things? Political correctness has so permeated our culture...

Here’s a snippet from Glenn Beck’s radio show 5/27/10 – this one clip should eternally disqualify Glenn Beck as a commentator on religion in the eyes of all informed listeners: Here is a transcript provided by RazorKiss that starts at about 38 seconds into the clip (link): Glenn: “…the Dead Sea Scrolls, you know what they are? Stu, do you know what the Dead Sea Scrolls are? Stu: Well, of course I do… Glenn: Now, c’mon, most people don’t. Stu: Well, I heard of them, I don’t really know Glenn: You don’t really know. You have no idea why they...

A source named Dr. Mass Effect tells me, confidently, that he knows a guy who was told that a guy smelled thermite charges in Austin. We need THE TRUTH! Not this crap that is being pushed upon the sheeple on Faux Noise.

I saw this a long time ago on PBS, I think. The scene starting at 2:30 is something I shall never forget. The problem is fascinating, and the Aussies have a great attitude.

I've been here since late 2002. Many times I would like to know a little about a poster, but they haven't created an About Me page. It sometimes helps to frame the context of a comment, and besides, this forum feels like family. So please, take ten minutes or so and let the rest of us know a thing or two about you. I think it might help if there were several page templates for people to use.

I was wondering if there is an easier way to post photos here. Every time I want to post one of my own photos, I have to upload to Photobucket and grab the HTML code. Is there a program or Firefox add on that can assign HTML code when the file is saved?

The self hating white bimbo up the street has taken down her Obama sign. I'm pretty sure it wasn't theft; the yard was being mowed and it wasn't put back up after. Maybe she's a little ashamed or possibly changing her mind. It wasn't even a current campaign sign; it was from the NH primary. I just put up my McCain/Palin sign in my own yard, and it's the only yard sign in the neighborhood. I know it's just an anecdote, but it fills me with optimism to think the Messiah has lost a supporter. Could Connecticut possibly go red...

Print This E-mail Link Send Letter Send Correction Groton (AP) - Connecticut's Episcopal Diocese has filed a lawsuit against the leadership of the Bishop Seabury Church, demanding it turn over control of the church property after voting to leave the national church in a dispute over theology and the appointment of a gay bishop. The Rev. Ronald Gauss was suspended from Bishop Seabury on May 3, when the diocese appointed another priest, the Rev. David Cannon, to take over. Rev. Gauss and 12 former and current church leaders were served this week with the lawsuit, which was filed in Superior...

I just got a phone call and found out my brother died yesterday. He and I were not speaking, as he had disowned me and sued me over some pretty silly stuff. I feel empty and ripped off. Everytime I turn around, Death stalks my family. I am tired and unable to feel much of anything. I haven't been very faithful to Our Heavenly Father lately, but I guess I could use some prayers. Thanks, and may your Christmas be better than mine.

LONDON (Reuters) - Manners aside, getting cows to burp less can help reduce global warming. Using modern plant-breeding methods to find new diets for cows that make them belch less is a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, scientists said on Monday. The key is developing new varieties of food that are easier for cattle to digest and also provide a proper balance of fiber, protein and sugar, said Michael Abberton, a scientist at the UK-based Institute of Grassland and Environmental Research. This could open up plant-based solutions as alternatives to reducing stock as farmers look for ways to cut...

I've just about given up on Sean Hannity. I had to turn off his show yesterday because I felt like I was hearing the same exact show for the last six months. His monologues are mind numbing and meandering. He repeats the same ten talking points and the same four litanies about ten times in an average day. If I hear him say he's a coservative in the mold of Reagan again, or- Fascism, Nazism, Tojo's Japan, or- run his pitch for the Freedom Concert talking about Lee Greenwood, Or- well you get the point. Am I the only one...

New London — After an investigation that included a re-enactment of the incident, police and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital officials are satisfied that no one carried a shotgun or rifle into the hospital Monday. The hospital nurse who reported seeing a man with a long gun, prompting an hour-long lockdown of the hospital, was mistaken, hospital officials said in a press release Tuesday. L&M spokesman Kelly Anthony said the nurse actually saw a two-piece kayak paddle that one hospital employee was returning to another. “The employee did the right thing in reporting this incident,” L&M President and CEO Bruce Cummings...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Christian and Libertarian -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: September 1, 2003 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2003 WorldNetDaily.com Every week, someone asks me what it means to be a Christian Libertarian. Almost as often, I hear from Republicans disgusted with their party's abandonment of its purported principles of small government, social conservatism and adherence to the Constitution, who are nevertheless afraid of switching their allegiance to the godless Libertarians. It has been said that a conservative is a liberal who's been mugged. In like manner, a libertarian is a conservative who's been mugged by the government. There is no criminal gang or collection...

I currently attend a Calvary Chapel in Southeast CT and I have become disillusioned. My pastor seems to have degraded from an expositor of God's word to a very poor joke teller. There is also a problem with the way they let the teenage girls dress, or undress, as the case may be. I know of a fine nondenominational Bible church in town, and the pastor used to be my 10th grade English teacher. The problem I face is leaving the family I have known for almost six years. This is the only church I have been a member of....
