This just happened. Right after receiving the victorious news from New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg that Occupy Wall Street doesn't have to move out of Zuccotti Park after all, protest organizers learned they'd been blessed with a Shepard Fairey original. An East Coast art-blog editor who's been keeping up with the artistic aspects of OWS (and oh, there are many -- in L.A. too!) told WNYC radio of Fairey's "Occupation Party" invite: Look familiar? "I think it's really great that it's an upward looking positive image, as well as it tries to tie together a little bit of the radicalism...

Bin Laden had 500 euros, equal to $715, sewn into his clothes, along with two telephone numbers. When the discovery of the phone numbers leaked to the press, intelligence officials became more cautious about parceling out the material to different agencies. “The disclosure of the two telephone numbers potentially undermined an opportunity for us to exploit,” the official says. “You want time to track and follow the people who have those numbers. The Associated Press has just released a multimedia tool that hammers home just how many gallons have been pumped into the ocean — and are still polluting the waters. A Flash interactive called The Oil Spillmeter shows updated totals of how many days the oil has been pumping from the sea floor gusher, measured in a constantly updated total in both gallons and barrels. The estimated worth of the lost oil is also displayed, as well as the amount of gallons BP has managed to capture (a fraction of the total). The Spillmeter also calculates the total spill in terms...

I was just curious as too what percentage of government employees are teachers, police and firefighters? Cause it seems like every time there is a 'budget issue' the left always starts threatening to layoff the teachers cops and firefighters. You know the one group of gov employees we actually need on a regular basis but no other gov. employees job is ever at risk...

BOSTON — Scott Brown, the Republican state senator running for the U.S. Senate, says health care legislation pending in Washington will hurt Massachusetts, a statement that runs counter to figures from state and federal officials. State Sen. The race to replace the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy...

CCTV footage has emerged of a news station office in North Carolina seconds before an eathquake struck on January 9. It shows a dog idly passing the time on the floor before, apparently without any duress, springing up and making a swift exit. Seconds later seats swing out of position, draws slip open and fixtures and fittings begin to wobble. Then, the shuddering really starts. While our K9 friend has escaped prior to the quake, people dash for the exits when the room begins to shake forcibly. The only question is, why didn't man's best friend warm his unaware human...

Change this big will not happen because I ask for it. It can only come when the nation demands it. Congress knows where I stand. Now they need to hear from you. Add your voice: Ask your representatives to support my plan for real health reform in 2009. The heart of my plan is simple: bring stability and security to Americans who already have health...
