Ranking Member Doug Collins: I’m confident every lawmaker in this room agrees that our democracy depends on protecting voting rights and election integrity. Congress has the authority to prohibit discriminatory treatment in voting based on race or ethnicity as part of its duty to ensure the sanctity of every vote. Unfortunately, this bill actively undermines these goals. The bill before us today federalizes elections in ways that have nothing to do with outlawing discrimination. Instead, it federalizes elections in ways that actually disenfranchise state voters. H.R. 1 would deprive state voters of their own right to determine their state’s voting...
  • It wasn’t enough that, years ago, George Soros fanned the flames of protests in Ferguson, MO.

Soros’ Washington-DC based super PAC gave St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner almost $200,000 to make sure she carried his water once elected. And she has: She’s softened enforcement of crimes and, worse, has used the powers of her office to recklessly pursue an investigation against the Governor. That investigation culminated in an indictment this past week—which means that Missouri taxpayers are, yet again, on the hook for spending taxpayer money for frivolous cases, thanks to George Soros.

On July 23, 2004, I addressed the fifth annual Freedom 21 Conference in Reno, Nevada. Freedom 21 was the first coalition of limited government/private property advocacy groups. Freedom 21 eventually sponsored 10 national conferences and educated and trained a cadre of leaders to fight Agenda 21. But in 2004, George Bush was in the White House two years after the devastation to individual liberty, free enterprise and private property that defined the Clinton Presidency. Yet, pre-TEA Party, so many Americans failed to understand the threat they faced. The movement was divided into fractured issues. Even the major Conservative organizations refused...

Karl Rove enlivened Fox News Channel's election coverage last year by questioning the network's declaration that Barack Obama had been re-elected. It hasn't affected Fox's desire to keep him on the air. The network announced Thursday that it had signed Rove to a new contract as a contributor. The deal runs through the 2016 election.

Conservative commentator Mike Huckabee tells Newsmax.TV that Republicans who abandoned Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin following his controversial remarks about rape should “repent.” Huckabee, who was one of the first prominent conservatives to voice his support for Akin hopes that fellow conservatives will “repent of their sins and will get back and help Todd Akin” before it’s too late. “It’s interesting that he is, in some polls, leading and some he’s just barely behind within the margin of error and they’ve abandoned him,” said Huckabee on Wednesday. “They’ve got other Senate candidates that they’re pouring vast amounts of resources in...

The controversy over Missouri Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin’s abortion comments was started by a George Soros-funded Democratic Party Super-PAC and the “bait” was taken by Republican Party officials who wanted him out of the race for other reasons, says John Putnam, Missouri state coordinator for the national Tea Party Patriots Group.

The past 48 hours has been a whirlwind of activity for grassroots activist across the nation, especially here in Tampa Bay. Activist have diligently pushed for state delegations to oppose proposed changes to RNC rules. Last night there was great optimism after the RNC agreed to compromise on the rule changes in an effort to avoid a floor fight. Unfortunately as a result of that compromise, RNC proposed rule 12, which would allow the RNC to rewrite the rules post convention, free of delegate and grassroots influence, will likely stand. This new rule could be a huge blow to the...

The most terrifying danger Americans face from a second Barack Obama term isn’t the economy, which is scary enough. The most harrowing prospect is the Obama Administration’s passivity in the face of attempts to introduce aspects of sharia law into our legal system. Now there is strong and open evidence of the Obama administration collaborating with Islamist activists to ensure the path toward sharia law is accelerated.

The Capitol Police are fairly jaded about protests, but they get a bit more careful when it comes to pretending to hang a member of Congress. As anti-abortion protesters gathered outside the Senate Thursday, a dozen police officers stood poised to make arrests if the activists went too far. Pasting a photograph of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) onto a human-looking figure and putting a noose around its neck was OK, police told protesters. But beating it with a stick they had brought with them was not.

The Census Bureau and the National Archives have agreed to throw out the 2010 census forms after archiving statistical data. This means that seventy-two years later genealogist will see – nothing -. The same authorities planned to do this to the 2000 census, too. A January 1999 Supreme Court ruling forced the Census Bureau to redesign data collection by prohibiting the use of sampling. Responding to an inquiry from Congressman Waxman of the census oversight committee, the Census Bureau and the National Archives reevaluated their decision. Images of all 2000 census forms were copied onto microfilm.

Democratic political committees have seen a decline in their fundraising fortunes this year, a result of complacency among their rank-and-file donors and a de facto boycott by many of their wealthiest givers, who have been put off by the party's harsh rhetoric about big business.

If we recalled those Senators in each state that were either RINOS or DemonRats that are voting to give out country away? Why do we have to wait until the 2010 election? Some of these people may not be up for election until a few years later when more damage will be done to this country! What are/or would be the political ramifications? We, as conservatives need to pull together NOW, and quite the fighting among ourselves and start thinking of ways to stop the current agenda. Does anybody have any good ideas?

I just called the Congressional toll free number: 800-828-0498 and the first thing that I heard was a recorded message urging the caller to contact their Congress Critter to ask them to pass health care reform bill. I then received the operator and asked her about the message. I was advised that the message was paid for by lobbyist. Is this supposed to be done with our tax payer money?

NASCAR returned to its roots Wednesday by lifting a ban on liquor ads on cars, opening the door for teams to be sponsored next season by distilled spirits. ``We felt the time was right,'' NASCAR president Mike Helton said. ``Attitudes have changed, and spirits companies have a long record of responsible advertising.'' NASCAR already allowed beer and malt liquor sponsorships. Budweiser sponsors Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s car, for example, and Busch sponsors a lower-tier racing series. But NASCAR restricted what liquor companies could do since the sport's modern era began in 1972, most recently denying a bid from Roush Racing in...
