Just wondering...many websites,it seems,allow posters to amend their posts after hitting "submit".I know FR offers the spell check feature (which is great) but why not offer an "amend" feature as well? Not being a web designer I don't have the first clue how difficult,or expensive,it is to install and maintain such a feature.If it *is* difficult and/or expensive that's surely a good reason not to do it.But if,by chance,it's not...why not give it a try? If that happens I know that some of *my* posts will be more coherent.

I'll be attending an open forum in a few days which will feature an appearance by that peace loving patriot,Bill Ayers.I don't know if the peanut gallery will have a chance to ask questions but if,by chance,I get the opportunity what advice do Freepers have on what I should ask? I'll want to keep it short and sweet...I thought maybe I'd ask "are you still on the Oughton family's Christmas card list?"

My dilemma...tomorrow night my diesel and I will spend the night in a town where it's forecast to drop to -40F overnight.I'll have no garage,no battery charger,no oil pan heater...nothing.Does anyone have any experience with diesels at that temperature? My previous diesel once started after a night of -30F but I'm concerned about this.As on the previous occasion I plan to fill up with locally blended Shell diesel when I arrive but my car maker forbids the use of *any* fuel additives (it's still under warranty).Thanks in advance for any advice.

Don't know if I need to apologize for this vanity but I do nevertheless.The issue...Alex Fernandez,late of the New England Patriots,is suspected of three murders now.Given that he's worth some big $$$ and there's the possibility of him having unlawfully killed one or more persons can the family of any of those victims file an immediate civil lawsuit for millions,put a lien on his assets/income until the suits are resolved,which would deny him access to his funds for the use to pay defense lawyers? Just curious.Too much free time,I guess.

Went to Town Hall today to cast an absentee ballot in the Massachusetts special election for the Senate.I voted for the "kinda" Republican (Gomez) rather than the filthy pig Maoist (Markey).The Town Clerk's office wasn't busy so I asked the clerk who served me several questions about registering/voting here in the Gay State.She told me,among other things,that it's *specifically* against state law to require *any* proof of US citizenship when registering to vote as well as it being *specifically* against state law to ask for *any* form of ID at the polling place.She seemed to justify this by reminding me...

Heard Mark Steyn speak at a Massachusetts synagogue last night,it's the appearance he mentioned either last Monday or Tuesday on Rush's show.As good as he substituting for Rush he's even better in person,I can assure you.He had the audience in stitches for an hour (plus) while making point after powerful point about the world jihadi movement...particularly as it concerns the US and Europe.I'm gonna try to buy a transcript of the speech or,better still,a recording but I'm led to believe that I'll fail.Oh well. Just heard Rush mention Osama Obama's call for people to tell the WH about *their* immigration story.Here's what I just sent in: My family, on both sides, immigrated from Ireland in the late 1800's.They all entered the country legally, obeyed all laws, paid taxes, never stole anyone's identity and quickly learned English. Many members of my family served, honorably, in the Armed Forces during wartime (including myself) and never received a nickel of government welfare in spite of blatant discrimination against the Irish that they experienced. I attended Romney's rally in Manchester,New Hampshire last night.The auditorium was jam packed (don't know it's capacity).Saw cars from all 6 New England states plus New York,all plastered with bumper stickers of various Republicans...including Romney,of course.Powerful stuff for sure;it's the first time I've ever been to such an event as it was for my 23 year old nephew,screen name "NavySon".To describe the theme of Mitt's speech and his delivery in one word....PRESIDENTIAL!! I,like some but unlike many,make many eoors when posting.Spelling (yes,I use spell check...usually),punctuation and other errors are often made by me.Is there a way that FR can set up something like what I've seen on other forums (car forums,for example) that allow the poster to delete of edit a post after "post" has been hit? I had a strong need to somehow note an important...actually,pivotal...day in my life.It was forty years ago today that I raised my right hand and took the oath of enlistment of the United States Army.I was scared out of my wits (as,I suspect,were most guys entering the service in '69...and other years).But my "hitch" was *far* less "eventful" than that of many.I never got close to combat.Or even to a combat theater.And I,unlike so many,most certainly never got close to "bravery" or "courage" and I also never got close to the UCMJ either.As I said...uneventful.In fact,so uneventful that I feel...

I know vanities are discouraged but I need help.I,a SP5 who never got closer to Vietnam than Fort Knox and Fort Dix,am going to Vietnam in a couple of days.I've got a pretty bad case of "I didn't do enough" guilt regarding my Army time.That,plus strong memories of how much Vietnam affected my life even though I didn't go are the reasons.I don't know how mobile I'll be while there for many reasons,not least of which is my doctor told me to be damn careful of many diseases...including malaria. I'm desperate as my google search failed.Is it true that a laptop designed for use in the USA/Canada can be run in the UK and Italy by simply using the plug adapters designed for the countries involved without employing voltage converters?
