Mr. Natural and Once-Ler, you obviously have no knowledge of Pennsylvania politics. Our Republican legislature has no problem voting with our Democrat Governor to raise our taxes, and our GOP leaders in Harrisburg are actually pushing a new gas tax even Rendell opposes.
Instead of trying to demonize those of us who don't enjoy paying even more in taxes and those of us that don't like Arlen Specter Republicans that vote like liberal Democrats, you should be commending the young people that have the courage to try and change the state for the better.
Forbes Magazine ranks our state a lowly #45 in its Economic State Rating. Too many of my friends are talking about leaving the state. Its up to us to turn things around.
Finally, Much of the state is made up of socially conservative Democrats and socially and fiscally conservative Republicans. Western PA is a perfect example of an area that is trending Republican specifically because Republicans campaign hard on social issues in that area. Pennsylvania is not California, its Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with Alabama in the middle.
Sure it's always fun to throw rocks at people, but it's sad that both of you would attack young people who are growing weary of the growing tax burden placed on our backs.
All we're trying to do is make a difference in our state by electing more conservatives. Its a shame that you two would be so critical of young people who are sick and tired of watching their state go down hill and are trying to turn things around.
