POTTER TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY - Police have arrested a third person in connection with the murder of Samuel Boob. Boob was shot and killed at his home in Potter Township, Centre County, on the morning of August 23rd, 2009. Kermit Butts, 26, of Madisonburg, is accused of driving the suspected killer to and from the crime scene on the morning of the killing. He was charged with aggravated assault and assisting a murder suspect and placed in the Centre County Prison.

A Millville woman was charged with robbing a New Jersey Transit bus driver and kicking out a police cruiser’s window Sunday afternoon. Natalie M. Tice, 21, of Millville’s Oakview Apartments, allegedly punched the 63-year-old bus driver in the head and took $48 from him.

WESTMORELAND COUNTY -- Pennsylvania State Police are trying to piece together the puzzling death of a motorcyclist in Westmoreland County. According to police reports, William Mark Amos, 47, of Export, was riding on Route 819 in Salem Township when the deer crossed into his path on Friday morning. The bike collided with the deer about 100 yards south of Ridge Road. But police said that Amos had a gunshot wound to the head and that a gun was also recovered at the crash scene. Police said Amos, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A federal invasion-of-privacy lawsuit may be the least of the Lower Merion School District's problems. Air tour operators and flight training schools say a no-fly zone established over much of Windward Oahu during President Barack Obama's upcoming visit will hurt their businesses. Starting tomorrow through Jan. 4, several general aviation activities, such as air tours, hang gliding and flight training, are prohibited within a 10-mile radius of where Obama is staying. The ongoing jockeying among cars, bicycles and pedestrians in Philadelphia took a tragic twist in recent weeks with the deaths of two pedestrians who were struck by bicycles. Armed with handguns and posing as police, a group of men yesterday invaded three homes in Prince George's County, binding the occupants and demanding money and in one case a flat-screen TV, police said. The intruders first hit a red brick apartment building in District Heights, cuffing a woman with plastic bindings and asking her where she kept her money, according to the woman's account. Waukegan police said a clerk at a guns-and-ammunition store appears to have shot a man who was trying to rob the establishment this afternoon. Officers responded at about 1:45 p.m. to Mike Schrank's Smoke 'N Gun, 2010 Washington St., to a call of a person shot, according to a police news release.
