The first mistake we make is believing the NBC and Hamas propaganda. I am doubtful the story is true. If it is, the death of an innocent child is tragic but war is hell and the people responsible are not the Israelis.
I generally believe non-competes should be eliminated for many positions, I don’t believe in government bureaucrats making decisions like this. This should be debated by and voted on by our representatives. Unfortunately that may not work though because many of the politicians are bought and paid for.
One example I saw of a non-compete was a $11 and hour security guard could not get another job because of a non-compete. That is an outrageous abuse of such agreements.

The good news is both pilots had visual so they probably would have stopped regardless of what the tower said. The southwest flight was rolling slow so stopping probably would have not been an issue. The JetBlue plane was taking off so he would have likely not been able to stop if the southwest plane did not.

Opened a bookstore aimed at a certain demographic that makes up 28% of the population of town. While there would be some cross over of people not in that demographic they most likely have reduced their potential customer base to 50% of the town. From that 50%, what percentage are avid enough readers that they would come in more than once a year to buy anything.
Not a sustainable business model. Not closing because of threats, closing because of economics but with a political agenda.

My adopted son is 1/2 hispanic but living an upper middle class life. I mark everything with his heritage as long as the racial spoils system is in use, I am going to give him every advantage. Wrong, maybe but fighting fire with fire.
