  • Al-Qaeda spokesman calls on Americans to 'buy guns and start shooting people'

    From the article:

He said: ‘America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms.

‘You can go down to a gun show at the local convention centre and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle, without a background check, and most likely without having to show an identification card.’

I detect a disturbing convergence of the rhetoric from both the Oppressive-Left and the Mooslimbs, coincidence?

    Good article.

Anyone that read through the article and has even a passing interest in the affairs will readily see that this group of officers did not follow even the most basic of protocols for this type of police work.

Note the Navy SEAL who took out Osama Bin Laden with two rounds and two rounds only, one to the chest, one to the head. This is a classic example of cool, perfect shot placement under stress, and is precisely the sort of thing SWAT troops are supposed to be able to do. After all, if they are no better at this sort of thing than the average street cop, all that has been done is to give average street cops more destructive, longer ranged weapons.

Take a look at the video, read the analysis, and try to tell me that these officers followed logical police procedures and were not negligent.

From the video, it should readily apparent that these officers forming the fatal funnel should have either continued the dynamic entry or backed off.

In such circumstances, some will claim that when confronted by someone holding a gun, or even when the police suspect someone is armed—as in the Erik Scott case—the police may blithely fire away. This is dangerous nonsense.

Remember that SWAT operators should be better trained and more experienced than their patrol brethren. They are expected to be able to wait those few fractions of a second longer before shooting necessary to be certain that shooting is absolutely required. In a nation with a Second Amendment, and where citizens may carry concealed handguns in most states, police officers simply cannot shoot anyone seen holding a weapon.

Was this done at all? A casual observer of this video would come away with the impression that these were just Keystone cops in tactical gear.

Finally, I ask you look at the Definition of the concept of Goodwill
    {Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary}

a : a kindly feeling of approval and support : benevolent interest or concern b (1) : the favor or advantage that a business has acquired especially through its brands and its good reputation

The government and law enforcement are in such a position as to warrant that they need to rely on the ‘Goodwill’ of the public. How much of that vital asset is used up with incidents such as this?

Don’t be too sure about that, if you look long enough you could find something incriminating in everyone’s house.

Body armor and guns are not illegal in most cases and yet they are making them out to be the case.

Just a couple of quick examples of “Incriminating” Items:

Do you have any gasoline or matches stored at your house? They could said to be the tools of an arsonist.

Did you know that some household items have explosive properties – common items like flour? They could be called “Bomb making materials.”

Moreover, we have not even touched on the possibility of the planting of evidence.

Okay, we can see where this is going:

The two conclusions you get from this headline is that we need to have feral government control over every firearm transaction and a ‘watchlist’ prohibition.

Meaning that the government will now have a due-process-free control over YOUR ability to defend yourself.

    2nd amendment? What 2nd amendment?

Gun control is kind of like trying to solve drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to own cars.

People need to keep this in mind, if you phrase it this way it sets things in perspective.

You know, I HAD around that number back when I made the Newbie mistake of cleaning them in the clear cool water of a pure mountain lake.

Who knew that you shouldn’t try rinsing them out over the side of a rowboat – they get very slippery when wet ….. and…… well you can guess what happened.

And you’d think that after the 5-6 (or was it 11 – 12th?) time of that very same thing happening I would have learned my lesson.

But the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) has been accused of directly selling two M2s to cartels as part of the current Gunrunner scandal. Those weapons have not been recovered.

    Wait, WHAT!!!

Are the Liquor, Cigarettes, and Gun Ferals now supplying guns to the drug gangs directly?

How, prey tell are they going to explain where the cartels bought those in the US?

Senator Coburn has proposed a first-degree amendment (#3700 - link) to the Health Care Reconciliation Bill, H.R. 4872, to ensure that no veterans be denied their Second Amendment rights without due process. This amendment is identical to S. 669, the Veterans 2d Amendment Protection Act.

    REPUBLICAN PRESS RELEASE

    June 26, 2008

Burr’s “Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act” Approved By Senate Panel

Currently, when the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) appoints a fiduciary to assist a veteran with managing their financial affairs, VA also deems the veteran mentally incompetent and reports him or her to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). The Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act would require a judicial body to deem a veteran, surviving spouse, or child as a danger to himself or others before being listed in NICS, which would prohibit the veteran from being able to purchase certain firearms. The legislation is supported by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, AMVETS, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

    http://www.vawatchdog.org/08/scva08/scva062608-2.htm

    S. 669:

    Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act

A bill to amend title 38, United States Code, to clarify the conditions under which certain persons may be treated as adjudicated mentally incompetent for certain purposes.

This bill never became law. This bill was proposed in a previous session of Congress. Sessions of Congress last two years, and at the end of each session all proposed bills and resolutions that haven’t passed are cleared from the books. Members often reintroduce bills that did not come up for debate under a new number in the next session.

It would seem like this is an issue but it also appears as though it hasn’t been passed, so it might still be a problem.

    Comment at the site:

“Congress should eliminate gaps in and strengthen enforcement of the Brady Act and other federal gun laws.”

Why, are they suddenly so hot and bothered about this issue right now? Has there been a number of shooting incidents I have not heard about?

Are they basically pushing to have feral control over EVERY gun sale transaction?

Why is this suddenly a problem?

Make no mistake, the gun grabbers want CONTROL, and part and parcel of that would be to have our glorious rulers to have a veto over whether you can but a gun.

They can only do that if they CONTROL every private transaction (BTW, how does that fit in with the commerce clause?)

With that in hand, if you wish to defend your-self, you will need their permission to do so, throw in depriving people of the right via secret watch lists and it’s GOODBYE SECOND AMENDMENT.

I don’t know, is there such a thing as Trillion rate people?

    Obama would be after them.

Someone on another blog posted this comment and they make an interesting point:

I, for one wonder what the Liberals of today will tell their grandchildren about how they contributed to the decline of a once great nation.

The Libs seem to be determined to bring this nation down a few notches. Whatever the problem their unthinking answer is to raise taxes in any shape, manner or form.

Whether they are too dumb to realize the economic implications of this or whether they know this and are rooting for it does not really matter. The fact remains that their actions of today will drastically change the economic landscape of the nation.

At some point in the future – if Western society survives – there will be a clear time line where the US was a leader among nations and a bastion of freedom.

And with current events as they are there will surely be a point where this is no longer the case. The key event for this change will surely be the election of Barry Soetero and his hatred of the land of his birth.

Complicit in this decline will be those that supported Barry and carried his water for him. They will have to answer to future generations as to their part in this decline – I wonder what that answer will be?

they probably could have had trackers in buttstocks and what not.

Right…, sure. If such devices could work at the ranges that would be useable.....

And not discovered within the weapons during any type of disassembly, the ‘tracking data’ would have shown the guns ‘walking’ ….. South.

Yeah, that kind of insightful intel is well worth the deaths of scores of people in the process, yup.

Again: make gun sales like liquor sales, where no record is kept of what is bought by who, and I’ll gladly flash an ID to prove I’m legally qualified.

Why don’t they do it that way?

If they are just ‘Screening’ the buyer, why do they need all that data on the gun?

And why do they want to keep that information?
