This is just too good not to pass around! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0r_FbARIn8&NR=1 A phone call from a 12-yr old boy to Houston radio station KSBJ FM 89.3. So profound, the station has it posted on their website. Click above to listen to it.

I was reading another article in this magazine source and saw a reference to a school text for elementary children - hailing Obama. It was a feature discussion on Fox News early this morning too. The school district has promised not to print any future books with the selection - but the current books will be around for a few years no doubt - to indoctrinate even more children. http://mensnewsdaily.com/2008/10/15/obama-pushed-on-our-kids-in-grade-school-lit-textbook/

Senators Obama and John McCain both say they will cut federal taxes if elected. Here is what their current proposals would mean for us... (States not given). http://Parade.com/intel October 12, 2008 How Much Would You Pay in Taxes? *Source: Tax Policy Center. Numbers have been rounded. For complete details, go to TaxPolicyCenter.org. If your annual salary is less than $112,000, you’d pay less in taxes under Obama’s plan; if your salary is higher, McCain would cut your taxes more. “While the aggregate tax cut is bigger for McCain, a larger number of voters get more money under Obama,” says Alan...

Excerpt - Video I was blown away with this discussion on Fox today - I had no idea the State and Federal governments have ok'd the procedure. The application for Ohio Voters is on line and it requires nothing substantive to show that people can commit fraud and change the outcome of the vote. http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video08.html?maven_referralObject=3119752&maven_referralPlaylistId=&sRevUrl=http://www.foxnews.com/foxfriends//

I was reading about the behavior of various journalists on the networks since the political conventions started - more particularly on the Palin explosion into our lives, our hearts and our minds. I have but one regret regarding the lovely Palin. That Tony Snow did not live long enough to witness her wonderful impact on the national scene. He would have loved the theater, the irony and the woman herself - for her strengths and her intellect and for her message itself.

After steeling myself through the Democratic extravafrenzy I had to keep remembering the circus was all display and glitz having nothing to do with the future of our nation. It is my first vote and I alternated between panic, confusion, anger, disgust and other assorted "feelings". To be honest I had considered skipping my vote entirely because my vote before yesterday would have been a throwaway. Dishonest. There seemed no hope and after the final Last Act of the Obama Circus, I stayed up all night wondering what I should do to get through this. I prayed and that calmed...

Last week I forwarded the link of Mother Moose and her twins - today I received this one in response. You just can't produce this real love these humans enjoy from their adopted 'son'. Pure unadulterated love. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiGKWoJi5qM

In my morning paper I read a letter - one part of which confused me and I am reaching out for opinions from the membership here. Partial quote: "Oil futures are not going down because the world's wealthiest investors are making tons of money on the increased values. Money at this level controls world business. High gas prices hide high taxes that are over three times the profit of oil companies. Congress won't favor domestic drilling as long as they can collect these tax billions to play with." Is this letter accurate, inaccurate and if you can explain it to...

I beg commentary on this article as I am wholly unable to bring myself to do so. Seeking guidance and common sense.

I love FreeRepublic - nodding in at all hours reading a variety of topics which are both educational and interesting - and toughest of all - thought provoking to me. I'm new at this business of elections but I have to admit I am so sick of all the bandwidth being spent on Obama - and while he may seem a formidable newcomer deciding the direction we are about to take (according to his handlers' wishes of course), I am disappointed we spend so much time on him rather than the issues we wish to improve - few of which...

The write ups on this event can be found at a number of newspaper websites - they are listed on Google.

I have had some interesting encounters with the link cited in looking up my own property and some in my neighborhood, but of undeveloped land as well regarding a certain Federal Courthouse being built in our town. I thought the membership here may also enjoy having this satellite informational service.

Thunder 6 is returning home - his last message was up today and in case some people may not find it as Free Republic place most blog material in their own special place, I hoped I might be able to share this one last day with all of you. He has given his readers a look into the day to day work of our military and has a facility with words which bring all of us there to share. Godspeed Danjel .... on with the rest of your life now and thank you for your service to us all.

I saw this on Thunder6 this morning from a mother requesting assistance for her son. Helping Hand Home is a sacred word to every soldier, the unwavering pole that forever tugs at the heart's compass. After three combat deployments and 15 years of service to our nation a fellow soldier bought his first home, only to lose it in the hellstorm that was Hurricane Katrina. To add insult to injury, his insurance claims were denied - leaving his family scattered and his finances in shambles. His mother created a web site to help her son in his time of need...

Earlier this week we discussed the 9/11 Anniversary and one writer mentioned that Google had not placed a logo or identifying symbol on their opening page. I wrote an e-mail and received a reply. I just sent an e-mail in return reminding them that I will not forgot to look next year to see what they have "come up with", and as far as "hurt feelings" of the international commuity, I thought Google was still a U.S. corporation. In addition there were lives from other nations lost in that tragedy. A logo needn't be their "only answer" in opting to...

I have a Blog address written by a Captain in Baghdad. The address is Thunder6.typepad.com/365_arabian_nights/ The address was given out here at Free Republic. Thunder6 seems to generate good response but has been missing for a while, and it seems he is down spiritually. Anyone up for cheering this good man? I know he would appreciate it. He hasn't asked for help so this is a bit confidential (on the world wide web) but I am hoping. He is an excellent writer and I have been following his Blog for a couple of months now. He is usually very upbeat,...

I was fascinated with such a wide majority voting for the Supreme Court Justice candidate's most important qualification: Originalist It is a new descriptive to me and I would appreciate knowing what it means to the large number of writers who voted for it. Thank you.

UPDATE; TODAY I AM AN AMERICAN (see earlier thread when I began the Naturalization process).
-
Back in April 2004 I applied for Naturalization and I promised some members I would let them know the steps I had to take to accomplish this procedure, especially now that it is under Homeland Security rather than the previous administrative group. My application was filed in early April 2004, but as the fees were going to increase on April 30, 2004, they returned the forms to my attorney for more money - which delayed the application. It was refiled after she attempted a dispute about paying the increase, but by then the fees had gone up and we didn't...
