That old General to Putin’s right looks absolutely ridiculous. They wear those stupid oversized hats, and look at all those medals hanging off his shirt! He’s a caricature of himself.
The tragedy of this bill is not the $95 fine you’re seeking exemption from....the tragedy is what this will do to insurance companies and hospitals. It will drive them out business.
I disagree. I took a stroll through the huge immigration rally in DC yesterday and it was chock full of SEIU purple shirts. The way I see it...these illegals become citizens and swell the ranks of the labor unions, giving Stern and Trumka more power.
Yours is the only voice of reason on this thread. Most people posting here must have never set foot in Rayburn, Cannon, or Longworth, because you’ll be damned if you think 30,000 people can fit in the halls of those office buildings, and you’ll be damned if the Capitol Police is going to create that kind of fire hazard.
Wow, I really hope I never meet your sick twisted “god” who doesn’t forgive the sins of his people. Christ died for sinners...there is no commitment to eternal death that is stronger than his redeeming love.
First of all, an important distinction to recognize: Passenger rail vs. Freight Rail. The U.S. freight rail network is hands down, the quickest, most efficient, safest, cheapest, and most state-of-the-art freight transportation system in the world. BNSF, Union Pacific, CSX, and Norfolk Southern are world class railroads who have enjoyed tremendous success in what they do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy_5r-U1EnI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMuuNpoZHOw Now, high speed passenger rail is another thing. For truly "high speed" rail (above 79mph) dedicated trackage and an electrical grid are required. Most freight railroads are running close to capacity, and don't have the time or space to accommodate this pipe dream that is "high speed rail." It only works in Europe, because there is little freight railroading there, and it runs mostly on dedicated trackage.
It amazes me that the general sentiment on FR regarding the possibility of the existence of extra terrestrial life is so cynical...especially considering the nvet of trained observers (pilots, soldiers, sailors, law enforcement) who have, at great risk to their careers, reported seeing strange things.
I think the opposite is true. Most railroads are dedicating alot of their budgets to makIng these improvements for double stack trains. With height restrictions eliminated, stack trains can literally haul twice as much cargo in one trip than before..
Norfolk Southern is doing this on the Pokey in WV and the Crescent corridor on the East Coast...
