I know, I know....but Bing itself hasn’t been political, and Microsoft, unlike Google, hasn’t used the search engine to send explicit or implicit political messages. Besides, I bet Microsoft has given heavily to both sides, whereas I suspect that Google has given mostly to the Rat side. I don’t actually know that for a fact, I’m just guessing.

It isn’t what you think. The private sector (the part that actually creates all the jobs and wealth) shrunk by 4.3%. Government spending rose by 1.1%. And purchases of imported goods declined by 2.1% (purchases of imported goods are subtracted from the overall GDP number). That’s how you get to -1.1%. It’s worse than you think.

Oh com’n, it can’t be that. My theory is that the left just cannot tolerate vigorous, persuasive, entertaining disagreement or dissent. But maybe that’s because I’m a cynic.

Does anyone know if Suzy Shuster is related to David Shuster, who has tried to spread false rumors on MSNBC to the effect that the FBI had been investigating Palin?

All the sudden media attention to this story signals to me that the left is worried about Mark Sanford. Perhaps they should be. He is the un-Obama in so many ways.

Obama came into office with the mindset that everything the Bush Admininstration did on national security had to be wrong. Beginning, of course, with Gitmo. He is now getting a reality check, at least on that issue. The problem is that he isn’t going to get a reality check on other key issues (such as interrogations) until it shows up in the form of a terrorist attack that we missed because we lacked the hard intelligence information to connect all the dots.

The quote itself was terrific. I just don’t want people to dismiss the quote because the date was wrong. Not that many here would do that, I’m just sayin’....

I couldn’t agree more. Bernacke is nuts. We are in a credit crunch, and his “solution” is essentially to print even more money to chase an ever-declining amount of goods and services. All so that the government can continue spending way beyond its means, and make it easier for the some of the rest of us to continue borrowing and spending beyond their means as well. Brilliant!
