A protester was led out of Wednesday evening’s Bakersfield City Council meeting after telling the council “we’ll see you at your house, we’ll murder you” during public comments. The council meeting was then delayed after the comments by Riddhi Patel, who spoke about security measures put in place for council meetings. Delaware officials say they are planning to send $300 in direct payments to taxpayers in the state. News outlets reported Thursday that the payments are part of the state's plan for using a $1 billion budget surplus at a time when inflation is rising and gas prices also are high.
