One of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's (R) advisers denied a report that the governor turned down an invitation by Mitt Romney to appear at an event with him on Tuesday. Christie Adviser Bill Palatucci denied a report in The Huffington Post on Monday which said that Christie turned down an invitation by Romney to appear at a campaign event on Tuesday, according to CNN. Asked by CNN if Christie had been invited to appear at the event in Morrisville, a suburb of Philadelphia, PA, Palatucci told CNN "no."

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — FBI agents arrested a woman Friday in Las Vegas on charges that she tried to vote twice in the presidential election, Secretary of State Ross Miller said. A criminal complaint accuses Roxanne Rubin of casting a ballot at an early voting location in Henderson on Oct. 29, then trying to vote again at a polling site in Las Vegas on the same day. Coming hot on the heels of speculation that some Jeep production may be moved to China comes a bombshell from a Bloomberg report. Fiat is now considering moving Chrysler and Jeep production to Italy. According to the piece, "To counter the severe slump in European sales, (Fiat CEO Sergio) Marchionne is considering building Chrysler models in Italy, including Jeeps, for export to North America. The Italian government is evaluating tax rebates on export goods to help Fiat. Marchionne may announce details of his plan as soon as Oct. 30, the people said."

The South Carolina Supreme Court has ordered Gov. Mark Sanford to apply for the disputed $700 million in federal stimulus money. The court voted 5-0, with Justice Costa Pleicones concurring in a separate opinion, that the General Assembly had the authority in passing the state budget to order Sanford to apply for the money. Sanford contended that a federal law passed in February gave him the sole authority to apply for the money.

Gov. Mark Sanford secured South Carolina’s $2.8 billion share of federal aid Friday but warned teachers, school districts and others not to plan on $700 million for classrooms, colleges and public safety. In a letter to the White House budget office, Sanford reiterated that he will not apply for the $700 million portion of funds.
