Gerd Leipold, the outgoing leader of Greenpeace, admitted that his organization's recent claim that the Arctic Ice will disappear by 2030 was "a mistake." Greenpeace said in a July 15 press release that there will be an ice-free Arctic by 2030 because of global warming. BBC reporter Stephen Sackur on the "Hardtalk" program pressed Leipold until he admitted the claim was wrong. http://eclipptv.com/viewVideo.php?video_id=6933

The Mustang Ranch and $850 billion bail-out: Back in 1990, the Government seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada for tax evasion and, as required by law, tried to run it. They failed and it closed. Now, we are trusting the economy of our country and 850+ Billion Dollars to a pack of nit-wits who couldn't make money running a whore house and selling booze. Now if that don't make you nervous, what does???

LEBANON, Va. -- "That's not change," Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said of what Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is offering. "You know, you can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said, "but it's still a pig." The crowd rose and applauded, some of them no doubt thinking he may have been alluding to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's ad lib during her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech last week, "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."

Seoul, South Korea (LifeNews.com) -- Scientists in South Korea say they cloned a dog that is capable of sniffing out cancers in human patients. However the animal cloning process is still plagued with problems that would make human cloning lead to the destruction of hundreds of unborn children.   The firm RNL Bio said in a statement that it used tissue from a retriever from Japan to clone four dogs. They used the fetus of a six-and-a-half-year-old canine to make the clones.   The Japanese stem cell company Seems, asked the team from Seoul National University, led by professor...

Instruction Books It is Christmas time, when we get those goodies and neat toys. We have to set them up, tweak them, and make sure they work. Some, if not most of the stuff we get come with an instruction book, sometimes hundreds of pages. After we get the toy working, we lose track of the instruction book. Here is something I have done over the past year that has been a big help. I got a 512 meg USB stick disk drive and dedicated it to instruction books and drivers for all of my stuff. You generally can find...

The Story of Buzz I was sitting in the local saloon, middle of summer, having a cold brew when I first ran into Buzz. The bartender had a fly swatter, chasing the hordes of flies away from the brew he was serving. Since I live in horse and cow country, flies can be a big problem around here. My neighbor, the Bishop, once got some chicken droppings and spread them over his lawn as fertilizer. That was a miserable summer in our neighborhood. I armed my 7 year old son with a fly swatter, and told him that I would...

Years ago, I read a story in the readers digest about the girl who went south. It seems that a guy was outside an airport trying to get a taxi. A girl jumped in the taxi that he thought was his. She asked him if he wanted to share the taxi since she was going south. He declined because he was going east. She leaned out of the taxi window as it was pulling out and said " It's too bad, because you will always wonder what would have happened if you had shared this taxi". The bottom line of...

The Fly Wrangler   My brother tells me I have too much time on my hands.  The other brother says "You need to get a life".   I tried.  I opened a worm ranch.   It went smooth however, I hated branding time.  Each of my worms had "Bobs quality worms" branded on their side, so I could identify them.   But then the thunderstorm came up.   All of my worms stampeded.  Gone.  I was heartbroken.   All I had was my computer, and adverising for my lost worms.   And then a fly landed on my monitor screen.  Just...

A couple of months ago, my neighbor, the bishop, started talking about a goat for a lawn mower. Having known him for 15 years, I knew it was inevitable.Last Saturday, the inevitable came true, he decided to “goat sit” a goat while the goats owners were out of town.Since I have no common sense, I tell him about my experience with goats in Vietnam. In Vietnam, my section had 2 goats, Bonnie and Clyde. Goats are the nastiest animals on the planet. I told the bishop about how I would walk by Clyde, and he would try to butt me, rearing...

1992 I decided to write this tribute to my dog Crystal. She is now 15, going on 16. That is 112 in dog years. But instead of tallying it in dog years, I prefer to say I am 462 doggy years old.   Crystal is a Lab-Samoyed mix and 100% love. In 1992, I was deeply involved in a divorce, and in my depression, I remember saying to my son Zack …”I do not want any women or dogs in this house”. About 2 weeks later, Zack came home with a little fur ball. He dates her for a couple of...
