The reversal last week by NBC News of its decision to hire former Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel as a political analyst took Republicans by surprise. However, in the wake of McDaniel’s firing, MSNBC host and Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the network Chris Hayes placed a job ad on Monster.com that suggests NBC’s efforts may continue to fall short of Republican expectations. It is reproduced below: NBC seeks to hire a Republican political analyst to comment on NBC and MSNBC News programming and to fetch Chief Political Analyst Chuck Todd’s favorite scones every Sunday morning. Our...

I’m getting so tired of the Burleigh’s here ignoring history, so here’s the actual economic statistics of the two Presidents. Reagan came to office in January 1981, with the 30-year mortgage around 13.15%, while Trump took office in January 2017 with the mortgage rate at 4.08%. In Reagan’s day, the Federal Reserve did not pump ludicrous amounts of money into the economy with asset purchases; in fact, the opposite was true. The Fed was tightening so tightly that Reagan lost the midterms badly because of it. Reagan had to endure two years of Volcker’s policies to fight inflation, so let’s...

The midterm clusterfark has drawn plenty of hot takes and instant analyses that range from insightful to self-serving to unbelievably stupid. But now that we have gotten past the initial blasts of the flamethrower, perhaps we should take a breath and sit down, and think about where we are as a movement and what we need to do as a party for 2024. There’s a lot to talk about, from procedural questions like how we intend to cope with the new world of extended mail voting to substantive imperatives like how we must repeal the 19th Amendment as it applies...

PITTSBURGH — The first thing Allegheny County Republican Chairman Sam DeMarco saw on election night after the polls closed was the more than 100,000 votes from his home county that dropped for Democrat John Fetterman through mail-in ballots. Although he wasn’t sure just yet that that meant the race was lost, he also knew Republicans needed to fix something in the party’s way of doing things going forward. “Those initial large dump of voters were mail-in ballots from Democrats,” he said of the advance voting that began in 2020 during the pandemic. Democrats embraced it with gusto, but Republicans shied...

McConnell...

The only people who Donald Trump drives crazier than his enemies are his friends. We like Trump. We appreciate Trump’s largely remarkable record of achievements – remember how your 401k used to go up instead of plummeting into the earth? We even enjoy his mean tweets. But then he does something that is so obviously self-destructive and, moreover, something that has burned him before, and we want to rip our hair out and shriek like that tubby mutant in the raincoat who got on her knees as Trump’s inauguration was announced and howled “NOOOOOOOOO!” Okay, why the hell does he...

I’m the silent majority. Optimistic. Law-abiding. Just looking to have a life. Hoping my son has a better future than me. Tolerant when warranted and looking for the humor in things. I don’t need to be a millionaire or be part of the cool group. Not very religious. My sports team loses, and I get over it the next day. Yet somewhere along the line a coterie of groups decided that made me a chump. Deplorable. Even a Nazi or Fascist. All because I saw a man who wanted to do better for a slice of this country that had...

Didn't see a thread for how the Stock Market is reacting today. At 10:24am the market is up 670 points and as an Investment Manager in his 60's I'm telling everyone from experience this is the smart money deciding that the Republicans will have full control of the House, Senate and Presidency.

Damage from wide-spread flooding in China may have cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Hubei province, which was badly affected by the coronavirus outbreak, has seen some of the worst flooding around the Yangtze. The Yangtze River region saw its second-highest day of rainfall in over 50 years, authorities said Monday as deadly flooding affected much of China. Some 28,000 homes have been damaged and 141 people have died or are missing since the floods began last month. Most of mainland China is affected, including vast swathes of western areas like Tibet and Xinjiang.

BACKGROUND Although several therapeutic agents have been evaluated for the treatment of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), none have yet been shown to be efficacious. METHODS We conducted a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial of intravenous remdesivir in adults hospitalized with Covid-19 with evidence of lower respiratory tract involvement. Patients were randomly assigned to receive either remdesivir (200 mg loading dose on day 1, followed by 100 mg daily for up to 9 additional days) or placebo for up to 10 days. The primary outcome was the time to recovery, defined by either discharge from the hospital or hospitalization for infection-control purposes...

https://youtu.be/NvEWez59fbI This interview occurred yesterday on their Halftime Report. I am an Investment Adviser and the last half of this video is MUST WATCHING, as he takes to task the smug CNBC interviewer Scott Wapner. You can here him discuss how the hedge funds DID IT AGAIN with overleverage. And it looks like this afternoon, the late sell off was a blown up hedge fund ordered to liquidate.

If anyone is watching his press conference it will make Dem HEADS EXPLODE! Calling the Dems racist, being gracious, giving Trump props for being a problem solver, not a normal politician not getting anything done. And the Black guy next to him nodding yes about Trump being the real deal!!!

NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Monday the league backs the free speech rights of Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey. But Silver, speaking to Kyodo News in Tokyo, acknowledged the impact of Morey's recent tweet, which supported anti-government protesters in Hong Kong. "There is no doubt, the economic impact is already clear," Silver said. "There have already been fairly dramatic consequences from that tweet, and I have read some of the media suggesting that we are not supporting Daryl Morey, but in fact we have. "I think as a values-based organization that I want to make it clear ... that...

Robert De Niro's alleged voicemail to Graham Chase Robinson Play Video Robert De Niro routinely subjected his longtime employee to creepy and abusive behavior, including leaving her voicemails threatening “you’re f—ing history” and calling her a “bitch” and a “brat,” an explosive new lawsuit charges. Graham Chase Robinson says for years she was the victim of “gratuitous unwanted physical contact” from the Oscar winner, who also hurled “sexually-charged comments to her” when she worked at his production company, Canal Productions Inc. Robinson’s allegations against the “Taxi Driver” star are levied in a lawsuit filed Thursday in Manhattan federal court for...

Some local Trump supporters and officials interpret the call for impeachment as just another example of Democratic obstructionism aided by the liberal media. Like many backers of President Donald Trump, Lee Roggenburg dismisses Democrats’ growing calls for impeachment as “absurd.” “I fully support him still,” says Roggenburg, a financial adviser in Boca Raton. Those sentiments are shared by other Palm Beach County voters who support Trump -- and they underscore the challenges faced by Democrats hoping to move Florida’s crucial 29 votes in the Electoral College back into the blue column.

Democratic donors on Wall Street and in big business are preparing to sit out the presidential campaign fundraising cycle — or even back President Donald Trump — if Sen. Elizabeth Warren wins the party’s nomination. In recent weeks, CNBC spoke to several high-dollar Democratic donors and fundraisers in the business community and found that this opinion was becoming widely shared as Warren, an outspoken critic of big banks and corporations, gains momentum against Joe Biden in the 2020 race. “You’re in a box because you’re a Democrat and you’re thinking, ‘I want to help the party, but she’s going to...
