Secret diner in Washington Holbrooke and Thaqui planned terror Less than a week before the clashes in Kosovo and Metohija occurred, a group of Albanian lobbyists from USA held a meeting at which they decided to help Kosovo Albanians to force international community to give independence to Kosovo. 'Blic' got this information from well-informed sources in the US. As 'Blic' further finds out this informal meeting was held at the initiative of David Philips, deputy director of the Center for preventive action within Council for international relations in New York. The meeting was held at his home with light diner....

The finale reached a harrowing conclusion when the ride took an extended tour near the Serbian Kosovo border. On a raining day of mid 50s F, the ride concluded from the Serbian town of Vranje, where I was hosted by the Serbian Church of Vranje's Otac/Father. While riding through the town center, mayhem was a given as cars were riding on the wrong side, next to each other on narrow streets. Cars swerved constantly to avoid so I followed the largest car on the road. What I noticed was the lack of police or military presence beyond the town center...

It can not be promised but will be attempted, a blog will be made available on a day-day basis if the Cycling Challenge is on pace. If not, the best will be done to post the...

Got the Prague T-shirt and the one from Tallin's nearly worn out. Where's next? What? Belgrade, Serbia? We bombed them five years ago! Think again. Belgrade, thenew tourist hot spot of Europe, so new it's unspoiled and still rather chic, plus it's safe and cheaper than Western Europe.Where to start? Belgrade is pre-Roman, so there's no visible ruins, but there is a load of stuff from Turkish times.Wander into history through the massive Kalemegdan Citadel; there's also an impressive War Museum, including some dud bombs NATO contributed in 1999. Down below the citadel flows the mighty Danube with its tributary, the...

KFOR removed the fence without the consent of the local Serb community, Lipljan municipality President Borivoje Vignjevic told Tanjug. The local UNMIK administrator was not informed of this move either, Vignjevic said, adding that when he insisted to learn who had given the order to remove the fence, KFOR told him it was done at the insistence of the Kosovo police

Greek Euro-deputies Ioannis Varvitsiotis and Kostis Hatzidakis, elected with the governing party of New Democracy, asked for the immediate intervention of the European Commission regarding the incident in the village Tzara in Albania where a cross, near the church of St. Dimitrios, was blown up by the Albanian authorities. For the record, a few days ago Albanian police officers, without offering any explanations to the local authorities in Tzara, placed explosives around the cross next to the church of St. Dimitrios and blew it up. The action took place after pressures exerted by the Albanian mass media because it appears...

The aircraft, part of Albania's ageing military fleet of Chinese-made MiGs, was on its way to a firing range, spokesman Igli Hasani said. The MiG-19 is a single-seater jet fighter, which was initially produced by the Soviet Union. "We're 99 percent sure the pilot is dead because the plane turned into a ball of fire," a police spokesman said. All flights at Mother Teresa International airport were immediately cancelled.

By SAM DOLNICK, Associated Press Writer NEW YORK - Teresa Heinz Kerry, encouraging volunteers as they busily packed supplies Wednesday for hurricane relief efforts in the Caribbean, said she was concerned the effort was too focused on sending clothes instead of essentials like water and electric generators. GERALD Warner better go back to school and study history before he freely revises it to suit his own agenda. In his column ‘Did Britain really have to be in the war to end all wars’ last week he makes several hideous mistakes. Or worse, deliberate omissions. The truly injured party was the Serbs, not the Austrians. Missing from his article is any mention about the assassination of the Serbian king three years prior to the assassination of the Archduke Ferdinand. It is apparent by this racist slur at the Serbs that the writer believes it appalling to kill an...
