Time's up. We need a news wire service that is going to at least *strive* for objectivity. Today, with Obama in the White House, ABC, NBC, CBS, AP, and Reuters, there is NO objective reporting. I figure initially we're going to need volunteers, a LOT of them, since the only way to verify stories is going to be through unrelated volunteer journalists providing the same set of facts for the same story. I can't guess that we're going to have money to pay volunteers for the first year or so. I wouldn't go anywhere else than here to look for...

History shows us that Freedom, in the final analysis, does not care that people are willing to die to defend her. History shows us that Freedom relies entirely upon those willing to kill for her.

They interrupted Rush Limbaugh for some "Breaking News" today. Apparently, some 4-5 dozen students decided to repeat the attack against a military recruiting station wreaked by the Ithaca anti-war protesters of which you, here at Free Republic, know if you cared to know. They managed to shut down one lane of a fairly busy highway and draw quite a bit of police attention to themselves. But mostly, as I said, they interrupted Rush Limbaugh. For that crime, I packed myself and my son up and headed out to counter-protest. The primary roads were blocked, but this is MY town, and...

This particular document mentions two men with similar names, each with ties to Pakistani religious schools known as madrassas, Jihad training camps, the Taliban and Al Qaeda. This original translation by my translator-colleague, who goes by the nom de guerre of "Sammi," comes from a notebook kept by an Iraqi intelligence agent. It provides evidence of a cooperative, operational relationship agreed to at the highest levels of the Iraqi government and the Taliban. The notebook is lengthy and we will present it on the FOX News Web site in a series of postings. It deals extensively with meetings between Maulana...

{Adapted for correctness} A girl going to college prided herself on her liberal activism. Her father though was a staunch conservative. When she came home for spring break she challenged her father to defend his unfair conservative beliefs. Her father asked her, "How are your grades?" She proudly announced she had a straight 4.0, but it took a lot of work. She wasn't able to go out nights and couldn't take weekends off from studying. She stayed up late working hard for her grades during the week. Her father asked her, "Well how are your best friend's grades?" "She's barely...

(HealthDay is the new name for HealthScoutNews.) TUESDAY, June 10 (HealthDayNews) -- At least one statistical study now confirms a popular belief: Keeping a gun in your home greatly increases the likelihood that you'll die from a gunshot wound. The study by the Violence Prevention Research Group at the University of California at Los Angeles appears in the June issue of the journal Annals of Internal Medicine. It found that people who have guns in their homes were almost twice as likely to die in a gun-related homicide and 16 times more likely to use a gun to commit suicide...

Mar. 29, 2003. 06:29 AM SARS survival rate higher than pneumonia Panic, overkill fuel public fears about disease KAREN PALMER PUBLIC HEALTH REPORTER The headlines are bold and scary: Thousands quarantined. Masks flying off store shelves. Panicked residents flooding a local clinic, fearing they've contracted a mysterious and deadly disease that's circling the globe. But how truly terrifying is Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome? "I'd much sooner get SARS than get hit by lightning," said Dr. Lionel Mandel, a pneumonia and infectious disease expert at McMaster University, noting that people are far more likely to survive the mysterious illness than a...

Tracking Down A Fifth Column FrontBy Edward ImmlerFrontPageMagazine.com | September 18, 2002 Vietnam-era anti-war protestors continue their demonstrating today, most recently in San Francisco against a potential Iraq war, but the sponsorship, partnerships, and funding of these groups raise questions about their real purpose. They are very organized, have a significant Internet presence, and actively raise large amounts of money. This all started when I saw the name of a protest group listed in an AP wire story. I wondered a bit about this and tried to find out about this group via the Internet. I found that I could...

TOBY KEITH PUSHED OFF STAGE IN ALABAMA!? In Huntsville, Alabama Wednesday evening, Toby Keith was stopped once again from singing his current hit, Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American). No, it wasn`t Peter Jennings this time, it was wrestler, Jeff Jarrett, who stormed on stage and pushed Toby, knocking his microphone across the stage. The crowd at the NWA-TNA: Total Nostop Action pay-per-view went wild as Toby held his ground against Jarrett who wanted Keith off so the main event (his match with Buff Bagwell) could start. TOBY GETS REVENGE When Toby finally left the stage,...

Palestinians Dressed As Israeli Troops Kill 4 House-to-house W. Bank attacks sap peace plan By TRACY CONNOR Daily News Staff Writer Palestinians disguised as Israeli soldiers machine-gunned Israeli settlers in their homes yesterday — killing four people, including a 5-year-old girl shot dead in front of her mother and brothers. The attack, the bloodiest in the West Bank since the Israel offensive began last month, started when the assailants cut fences to the Adora settlement near Hebron and slipped inside. Armed with M-16 and Kalashnikov AK-47 rifles, the attackers were dressed in olive-green uniforms and flak jackets and were clean-shaven...

There has been an insufficient study of our enemy, the terrorist sects within Islam. The Islamic terrorists greatest strength is their willingness to die for a cause. This strength is derived from their perverted form of Islam that tells them they will go to "Heaven" if they die fulfilling the cause of Islam. Right now, they don't find out that they're going to hell until after they've carried out some Anti-Christ's agenda. However, their cult's beliefs provides a method for eliminating this delusion that we as Americans can undertake. Part of their religion teaches them that they must not be ...

School officials at Harbor Lights Middle School flagged a Holland, Michigan boy as potentially dangerous because the 12-year-old suggested to a teacher that one way to prevent school shootings would be to arm instructors. Derek Loutzenheiser, a model student who had such good grades that some teachers recommended he be tested early for a popular standardized pre-college performance test, made his comments in early March, after being asked by a social studies teacher what he thought might make kids safer in school. Derek had been asked to participate in a classroom discussion about "school shootings and safety," said the sixth ...

This article has been excerpted, the link to the original is below: Census Bureau answers critics The penalty for not answering every question on the survey is $100. False answers garner a fine of up to $500. However, the law is unclear as to enforcement of such fines. But citizens are not the only people being asked to participate in Census 2000. Illegal immigrants also are being encouraged to fill out census forms by constant reassurance that answers remain confidential, particularly those regarding citizenship. Critics argue that federal dollars should not be distributed to illegal immigrants who will benefit from ...

The New Australian's China and Asia Report Looking Out Peter Zhang's Column Panama Canal: China's gateway to Mexico? No. 145,  21-27 February 2000 Chinese control of the Panama canal has fuelled wild speculation in the US as to Beijing's plans for this strategic piece of real estate. Though I am not party to Beijing's military intentions I do know that they do not include submarine bases or sabotage, both of which would be obviously self-defeating. On the contrary, the Chinese will, as Clinton inadvertently pointed out, bend "over backwards to make sure that they run it in a competent ...

Beijing issues new war threat VIVIEN PIK-KWAN CHAN Beijing warned Taiwan for the first time yesterday that refusal to negotiate on reunification could lead to military invasion. The dramatic ultimatum came in the run-up to Taiwan's presidential election on March 18 and days after the island's vice-president, Lien Chan, unveiled a 10-point package for reconciliation with the mainland. Beijing had previously said it would attack the island only if Taipei declared independence or if foreign forces became involved. Yesterday, it said it would be forced to use "drastic measures, including military force", if Taiwan indefinitely delayed negotiations aimed at ...
